My favorite headphones to date!

These headphones are comfortable, lightweight, have great sound, and the noise cancellation is incredible. The battery life is a dream too—I’m a college student and I use these for hours every day. M5 has outstanding the audio quality and noise cancellation. The device feels light and soft on ears. Also the controls are easy to use. clear tunes and good bass. I would definitely recommend it. Only con is, its over priced. I would have waited for sale given holidays are just around the corner. :-)

Best headsets

This headset might not be as power punching with the bass but it is enough to satisfy a bass loving person like me. As far as listening to Tidal (best audio formats) or Apple music app or any Dolby Atmos shows from any app like Netflix or Prime, this headset kills the competition. It has the availability to cuntomize your EQ through the Sony headset app and fine tune to your ear shape as well. This is my go to headset for everything, even Zoom, Microsoft Teams meetings as well thanks to noise cancelation which gets an 8 out 20 for me. I am in medical and we have a lot of noise coming from everywhere and this headsets work really good. Don’t get me going on the battery life, it’s amazing and lasts for days since I only use it for about 1-3 hours daily.

Of course you have to tweek the EQ settings for best results in the Sony Connect app! I love the touch controls, so much easier than finding the buttons on other headphones. There are some buttons on the xm5, a power and a noise cancelling/ ambient button. It has great call quality. The battery last a long time. I get exactly what they said, about 30 hours of battery life. They fit nicely and are comfortable. I do think durability might be an issue if you dont keep good care of them. They do NOT fold up! The headphones come with a case and wire and charging cable. These really do sound better than the xm4s which i also have and the Noise cancelling is better as well. I also want to say, if you listen through the wire it might sound terrible unless you power them on while you listen. You can still use noise cancelling and the battery will last longer if you do it that way instead of normal bluetooth usage!

Would be better if priced around 180 max. I would buy again recommend for quality and sound. Apps works great with them. The case is great too. They look authentic and fot well over ear.

I decided to give these a try and are overall pretty well. The overall sound and noise cancellation work very good and these are a lot more comfortable on me than the apple headphones. However, the volume adjusting i am not a fan of. The apple headphones just had buttons like they do on iPhones but for these you have to adjust volume which sometimes works and sometimes it ends up doing something else like rewinding a song, or skipping the song.

I wear them when I’m walking usually about 3 to 5 miles and I don’t have to charge them for several days. Very Good Headphones

These were the newer model and had rave reviews so I got one. The sound is outstanding and they feel lighter and less bulky than the XM3. The battery life is excellent and lasts me all day and then some. That said... I absolutely hate that they took the voice away telling you the different system statuses that the XM3 had. Now its just a random tone. I can't tell if I'm properly in pairing mode. Can't tell what listening mode you're in either. It's just a beep. Bring back the sexy voice that let you know you were in ambient noise mode! Oh, and for $400 you should absolutely include the charging block, ya cheap skinflints! These two things kept it from getting all 5 stars. Otherwise, a great purchase (if not a tad steep).

Noice canceling is superb, while still keeping the weight down and remaining comfortable. I use them at the gym and they don’t fall off. The battery last a very long time. Sound quality is the best I’ve ever heard.

My only personal issue is the inability to fold the headphones, which is a minor inconvenience at this point, but I was still a bit disappointed that this feature was removed.

Can't be beat for sound quality

On to the WH1000MX5's first differences, the pads aren't as "thick" so these are our sit "closer" to your head. Second they don't fold like the MX3' did. But these connect to two devices, fit well enough for longer use, handle Ultra high and spatial Music Quality 360° services exceptionally well; Have great noise canceling and new, better mic position, pickup and clarity. The quality is there and while I prefer Van Halen and Rock music, I'm sure today's sampling / autotune crowd will be happy with them too.

However, I got bad ones and they didn't work. But I realized I didn't like the way they felt on my head and researched more. I found these and I really like them. They are very comfortable. They help me considerate when working. They last VERY long! Probably the longest out there. I love watching movies in my bedroom with them on. They come with an app where you can adjust things the way you like them. I had to figure out how to stop them from cutting off when I was singing because it thought I was talking to someone lol also I like how you can have it connect to multiple devices at once. So I can switch between my imac and iphone when I need to. Calls are great on them. They don't always switch over but everyone can hear me clearly and the calls are clear. I highly recommend. My only suggestion is MAKE SOME PINK ONES! hahaha no seriously, get them you wont be disappointed.

With an open office floor plan good noise cancelling headphones are a must. They sit comfortably over my ears and don't hurt even after hours of use, they're also not too heavy like the old 3's. The mic is good, almost too good at times. I have to be good about my muting or it'll pickup other people talking in my row. Great for music and movies as well!

I actually sold my Bose headphones, which were my second backup versions for traveling, in order to get these, and don't regret it a bit. These completely are the most comfortable and lightweight headphones I've had, I wore them for 6 to 8 hours while traveling in planes, with phenomenal battery life, fantastic sound, and completely solid connectability. The app allows you to seamlessly connect to either two devices, which unfortunately makes you lose LDAC, but otherwise works perfectly. If this is important to you. The noise canceling is absolutely out of this world, you are truly in a world of your own. Are they expensive? Yes, but they are without a doubt the best noise canceling headphones you can buy. I've tried multiple different versions, from Bose, and Sony, these are by far the best ones I've ever had, and definitely will be sticking with them

Comparable, but the quality on the sound is notably better with these when listening closely. The battery life is also exceptional; I rarely have to think of charging it, & when I do it charges rapidly! The case is built well although slightly large considering the over ear style. Great headphone, one year warranty is not good

I do use them bass heavy but have a slight ting in the left driver. Warranty is out, and at the price of repair I will not be doing that. I take the best possible care of these considering it is the most expensive headphone I have ever purchased. Kind of disappointed on the fact considering the price of these. They are my favorite headphones though, I’ve tried many Bose and others. These have a warm sound and can have heavy bass when using the EQ settings. The ability for the NC to adjust based on your actions is fantastic, multipoint is great. They are a little big on me, I use the fully enclosed and they hurt the top of my head after a while. Also could clamp a little harder but this is different for everyone’s head. These are the best you can buy in this range but with a one year warranty I will not be buying more.

Only downside is a weaker bass, but this can be slightly enhanced with settings in the Song sound app
