Excellent for when I’m in the gym and on the go or if I’m in a private place that I just need to hear the conversation that I’m on the house about the noise that is going on around me and I can focus on the phone call and then when I’m in the gym, I can hear the music loud and clear. I just love them. This is my second pair of the first pair I sat on them and I broke them so I immediately had to get me a new pair and I love them.

Not only that, but the battery life is good and the charge time is very very quick. The only problem is the zipper on the case. Besides that, amazing headphones.

You can hardly hear anything from your surroundings, which is a great feature for people that have flying anxiety. They’re very light and can fit flat in your carry on, if you don’t want to carry the carrying case.

But very comfortable and the added advanced touch features and immersive /360° audio definitely bridges any doubts about these headphones. Ear cups can get hot if doing activity. So if thats the case, i wouldnt recommend

This version is way more comfortable and sounds even better, as well as the anc. Love them. I personally don't care that they don't fold like previous XMs

Was skeptical, but even better than the XM4s!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.For anyone looking to upgrade from the XM4s— These are *much* lighter and more comfortable if you wear them constantly like I do. I've worn the XM4s just about every day for the past 14 months, for at least 4 hours a day. From day one, the cups hurt my ears after 3 or so hours. I've been wearing these XM5s for nearly 5 hours now and I have no outer ear pain! They also hold a charge like a champ. Noise cancellation is the #1 priority for me, as everyday sounds at home set off my anxiety. I want the sounds of my neighbors, passing cars/sirens, AC, etc. dulled to near non-existence. These do the trick! The XM4s are fantastic, but these are better. There's less sound leakage, for one, due to the new design/shape of the pads. That being said, I wouldn't have upgraded from the XM4s if noise cancellation wasn't my #1 need. These have better sound without any equalizer needing to be set, but the price point of these XM5s are steep considering how good the sound of the XM4s is, especially with the equalizer. That being said, if you don't already have the XM4s, or want the top of the line ANC, these are worth it in my opinion.

Superior To Everything Else I've Ever Used

They are so comfortable that I sometimes forget I even have them on. Sounds quality is top notch especially with custom EQ settings. Short and simple review just buy them you won't be disappointed.

Best Headphones, some QoL features not needed.

Not the biggest fan of the assistant feature, though you can turn that off within the app as well as some of the other annoying stuff. The touchpad on the headphones (right side) is very sensitive so if you like to lay down with them on I would adjust settings to accommodate. Other than that though they are the best headphones I've had, my favorite feature being that I can connect to two devices at once.

Sony WH-1000XM5 Review: My Go-To Travel Headphones

The noise cancellation is so dialed in I’ve actually considered sleeping with them on. Planes, trains, crowded lounges—gone. Just me and my music (or silence, which sometimes is even better). The sound profile is no slouch either. Highs stay crisp, lows are rich and grounded. I threw everything at them—from jazz to tech house—and they kept up with deep, dynamic clarity. It’s the kind of sound that makes you hear a track you’ve known forever…differently. Wore them on a long-haul flight and barely noticed. Super comfortable. No ear fatigue, no adjusting every 20 minutes. And the battery life? Rock solid. I barely needed to charge them the entire trip. All in all, Sony nailed it. These are staying in my carry-on permanently.

I can activate and deactivate the noise cancelling so I never have to take them off. Worth the money. Wish they could have ear pieces that I could wear while working out, it’s the only thing missing
