I love that it has an app to control the quality of the sound, and that it has a built in Google. They have so many features to them from course cancelling, the ability to stop the sound when speaking so that u can carry on a conversation. The battery life is also very good. If you are thinking about getting these, just get them you will love them.

The best over ear headphones for all purposes

I can still use noise cancellation when playing my ps5 and the eq on the app mixed with the adjustable eq on Spotify can really make for an amazing sound experience. They pair up instantly with my iPhone and they are sleek and light. I’ve fallen asleep multiple times without noticing these were on my head. Would recommend over AirPods Max, they are cheaper, lighter, and have better sound.

Great for everything but working out!

They slip off my head constantly & when I’m moving my arms with weights the headphones think I’m trying to change the song, etc. so the music is constantly being interrupted. The music sounds great though & the noise canceling option works extremely well! Great for studying but not for working out!

Having read your review regarding the fit and waterproof performance, these headphones have great cushioning and adjustability. This will help the headphones stay on your head while working out. These will work great for you while working out “Non-Hardcore”. That being said, these headphones are not specifically designed for sports activities as the unit is not sweat resistant. If the proximity sensor part inside the left unit housing gets fogged up or there are water droplets on it due to condensation or humidity from sweat, etc., wearing detection may not work properly. We recommend you practice caution when working out with these headphones so they don’t fall or become damaged during your exercise. Thanks for choosing Sony! -Jess

Your feedback about the battery life and controls is greatly appreciated. For optimum performance, make sure that the software version of the headphones is up-to-date (via the Sony Headphones Connect app).
When you wear the headset, Auto NC Optimizer function always automatically optimizes the noise canceling performance by analyzing the wearing condition of the headset according to the shape of your face and your hairstyle, or the presence or absence of glasses, and the pressure change in an airplane, etc. There is no need for the wearer to press a button or use the touch sensor control panel to use this function. Because the noise canceling performance is automatically optimized by the Auto NC Optimizer function according to changes in the wearing condition and usage environment, you may notice fluctuations in the noise canceling effect.

Not what I expected. XM4’s are Better!

From my experience with the past XM4’s, theses new headphones surprisingly lack the control of noise cancellation. A huge downgrade from the previous gen, not only that but they lack the portability of the previous gens. I will be returning the XM5’s and stick with the XM4’s. If you want a solid pair of headphones with portability and great noise cancellation, I’d say you are better off with the XM4’s. These headphones are way too expensive for what they offer.

Put these on and you will want throw your cute earbuds in the food disposal. Whats most impressive about these headphones is the voice isolation feature when on phone calls. You can be in a car with loud music on the phone, and the person on the other end of the line will only hear your voice. The technology is so good it makes everyone else look bad. It doesnt make sense
