I never turn them up more than halfway and it really shuts out any and all noise. The noise cancellation is also a big plus. I hardly have to charge them. Have had them for a few years and really like them. I only didn’t make them a 5 because sometimes at the gym they slide off. Might just be because my head isn’t big enough. Also comes with a cord if you want to plug them into a device. But I’ve found that noise cancellation doesn’t work if it’s plugged in instead of being connected to Bluetooth.

We appreciate the feedback about them slipping at the gym. For active workouts, our WF-1000XM5 earbuds might be a more secure fit.
Just a tip: noise cancellation does work when the headphones are plugged in with the audio cable, but only if they're powered on.

The sound quality is excellent. It connects easily to Bluetooth. The noise cancellation is awesome. Battery life is great. They are comfortable to wear blocking out unwanted noise while enjoying music. I recommend this brand if you want a quality product with excellent sound & noise cancellation capabilities.

Sound Quality The audio is phenomenal—deep bass, crisp highs, and a balanced midrange. Whether I’m listening to podcasts, classical music, or EDM, everything sounds rich and immersive. The LDAC support really makes a difference when streaming high-res audio. Noise Cancellation Sony wasn’t kidding when they said “industry-leading.” I use these on my commute and in coffee shops, and they block out everything from chatter to traffic noise. The adaptive noise canceling is smart enough to adjust based on where I am, which is super convenient. Calls & Connectivity Call quality is crystal clear. I’ve taken Zoom meetings and phone calls with these, and people say I sound better than when I use my phone directly. Multipoint Bluetooth is a lifesaver—I switch between my laptop and phone without any hiccups. Comfort & Design They’re lightweight and feel luxurious. Great- but glasses users beware

The reason these lose a star for me is the new design messes with glasses and disrupts the active noise cancelling which side by side with my WH-1000XM3’s sounds a lot worse. I thought it was a defect, but after looking at the Sony subreddit this is a common issue with glasses users. Not sure if Sony will fix it or not, but as of now ANC quality is severely reduced and underwhelming. Disappointed in Sony as $400 is a lot and I expected better.

Superb and premium studio headphones

Strong bass and and great battery life. Super comfortable and love it comes works via bluetooth and aux cable. I dont get disconnected via bluetooth like many other headphones. Only con is, it does not have the foldable cups like its predecessor, XM4s.

Always been a Bose QC fan, bought the QC 15, then upgraded to the QC35II after that. Was thinking of buying the QC45 but then saw the high reviews on this particular model. Did research and finally decided to buy this. No mistake, ANC is excellent, on par with bose. Sound quality, connectivity, battery life and customization is what made the difference.

I’m able to wear them for an extended period of time without much discomfort on my head. My only issue is sometimes they will lose connection for no reason and I have to reconnect on my iPhone which can be annoying.

Sony has the best sound and the noise canceling is off the charts. I have purchased sony headphones in the past and they (speaking on my behalf with the product) have a long life capacity. The negative about these headphones and only negative is that the over the head band is a bit flimsy and fragile unless you don’t man-handle when adjusting to the shape of your head when you put them on. They tend to move around a bit when you look downwards. Best bet is to wear a hat and then put the headphones over them to make sure that they are steady.

Cost was about $100 less. The On/Off switch on this set is to small. I do not care for the swivel ear pieces. Otherwise the sound quality is excellent. Could have purchased a step down to less expensive model and been just as happy.

Excellent upgrade from WH-1000XM3

The ANC is better than the old model without that pressurized feeling. Sound stage is great on the default eq settings but a little tweaking really makes these shine, especially with LDAC enabled on Android. It's a shame that apple users miss out on that feature. These headphones are also very comfortable, I've been wearing them 4-5 hours at a time without any issues.

However, it’s worth it to me because I use my headphones for 5+ hours a day. They practically live on my head/neck. I already had the XM4 which had some of the best noise cancelling on the market and these just push that forward. The first thing I noticed was the comfort. These felt like literal pillows on my head. You should try these out, because my description won’t do it justice. These are so comfortable. The second thing I noticed… The noise cancellation is noticeably better. The XM4 were already great, but these are even better. They are more effective at completely blocking out undesired sounds. It’s surreal to be able to walk through normally loud places and hear nothing. The third thing I noticed… The sound EQ and Quality is refined. Previously I had to do heavy adjustments to the EQ because Sony made them heavier on the bass. Now they feel much better straight out of the box. Now, the last thing… these don’t fold. The XM4 fold. A lot of people see that as an issue, but I don’t. The reason for that is two-fold. First of all, one of the major failure points on the XM4/3 units was the hinge. It had the potential to snap after many uses. These don’t have those hinges, so they’re that’s one major point that’s less likely to break. The other reason I don’t mind is because the case isn’t that big. I can still easily fit these in my backpack and now I don’t have to constantly fold and unfold these when I want to put these away. I would highly recommend you pick these headphones up if you’re looking for the best of the best. Anybody who uses these daily will find every cent worth it.
