Comes in a wide range of colors and has been rated by many as the best in class. Highly recommend for long trips, cheaper then iPhone pro max, great battery life, and most importantly every stylish. This is definitely a great gift without breaking the bank with other premium headphones in the same space. The case covers and protects the whole ear phones. So far no negative issues as she has already used it for over 2 months since Christmas.

LOVE these headphones

The ANC on these is very good as well, I wear these at university all the time and I can attest these are amazing, much better than my AirPod Pros that I used to use for studying and writing papers

A fine upgrade from the XM3s with some caveats

Not fond of the disconnections that tend to happen occasionally in the background, but I can tolerate it given the value of being able to stay connected to mobile and PC and swap between the two. I would only say that the mobile app can be slow to start up, and there's no alternative way to manage the connections outside this app that I know of.

Missing the noise cancellation slider

Love the new touch controls and the minimalist profile altogether. Only thing I miss is the noise cancellation slider in the app. Liked being able to adjust that to a personal preference. The adaptive noise cancellation is fine though. The spatial audio and genral sound quality imporvements make it a worthy sacrifice.

I loved the sound quality and noise cancellation, but as a glasses wearer my head would start hurting if I wore them for too long. I then turned to Bose’s QuietComfort but ended up returning them immediately because the sound quality and noise cancellation just didn’t match Sonys. So I decided to try the XM5s and they are truly the best headphones I’ve had. As comfortable if not more so than the Bose headphones, but with a far superior sound quality and noise cancellation. (So if you’re on the fence between the Bose and the Sony, go with the Sony!) My only very nitpicky complaint is that the microphone only works via Bluetooth, so if you’re using these headphones wired the microphone won’t work. Although this is probably not an issue for most people. And while some people don’t like that they don’t fold up I don’t mind and think the non-folding structure probably helps them feel more comfortable.

Please be advised that the microphone function of the headphones is disabled when using the supplied cable. Use the mic of your source device. These can be used with glasses. The WH-1000XM5 fits snugly around your ears. Unfortunately, they don't fold as they do in the XM4. For comfort, try adjusting the headband and the earpads properly. These lightweight headphones are beautifully finished in newly developed soft fit leather. This material fits snugly around the head with less pressure on the ears while keeping out external sounds. With that said, I do like the headset. The noise canceling is excellent. The sound is nice, clean and enjoyable, as expected from Sony. I notice that sometimes, it feels warm on my ears after prolonged use (less than two hours). I do love the design. Very modern and classy. It’s light, does not make you feel threatened with headache. I did return it though. The price made me think twice. Also I don’t like that I needed to use Sony app to use it.

The Sony Headphones Connect app is not a requirement to use the headphones, if you change the settings of the headphones using the app, it will keep the settings even without the use of the app unless the headphones are initialized back to default settings. So I was tempted to run out and buy the XM5s after viewing all the positive reviews about them on Youtube. I opened the box, removed the case and pulled out the headphones. Here are my pros and cons after using them for a few hours. Pros: 1. Seamless design - less gaps between the earcups, pads and hinges than the XM4s 2. No creaking- Because they don't fold, there's no creaking of the armbands like with the XM4s. 3. Multipoint connection- can connect to 2 devices simultaneously 4. Larger earcups- a little wider and deeper than the earcups on the XM4s 5. Sound quality is more clear, less muffled than the prior XM series. Phone call quality is much better. Cons: 1. ANC is worse than the XM4s. You cannot change the level. Its only on or off. 2. Lacks the 40mm drivers necessary for stronger output like higher volume and bass. 3. Lacks NFC so you can't tap your phone to the earcup to turn it on and off. Came handy if your other hand was busy. 4. Cannot use high quality LDAC bluetooth codec on Android devices unless you download max high quality music from Spotify, Apple, Tidal and others which eats up huge storage space. Also, cannot use LDAC if multipoint is turned on. The Sony Music app will warn you of this. 5. No aptx codec limits the quality and range of music to download. Aptx was and is the standard for bluetooth music streaming/downloads. 6. Cannot fold. Takes up more storage space and makes them less compact to carry. For this price, I'll stick with the other XM-series from Sony. Even if these drop below $300 one day, I think I'll still pass.

We are also sorry if these headphones don't have an NFC function.

Great Headphones for Me

Aside from a slight discomfort after wearing them for hours at a time, these are great headphones. The versatility of being able to have them wired or not is exactly what I wanted from headphones. I can use them to plug into airplane monitors, my external desktop mic while gaming, and my laptop if needed. All while having the option to go wireless if needed. Coming from the Bose QC35ii, the fact that these headphones dont fold up is slightly annoying, but its not the end of the world. The gestures on the earcup work the way theyre supposed to and the passthrough is nice if you need it. Battery is hardly ever an issue. Only once has it needed to be charged at an inconvenient time (and thats bc I hadn't charged them in 3 weeks).

After they remodeled it the Woodland Hills One to begin with if you're looking for a set of over their ear headphones that will clear out any noise and make it as quiet as possible. Then you're in the right place. Not only are these headphones very very comfortable with their vegan leather material, but they fit on the head like a glove they offer the same battery life as the previous model at 30 hours. But you want the best and noise canceling and comfort you're in the right place the Sony headphones here or everything you need the app offers you a lot of ways to customize your sound profile and everything. You need go ahead and buy them while you can now that today is the last day of the Black Friday deals at 329 with a $70 discount. What more could you want buy them? I recommend them they are truly amazing.
