I was recommending Bose because I had Bose headphones before but he did his research on these and when I heard them as well I was like okay these are really nice. Other than than great headphones. On the other hand battery life is amazing. I can last weeks without charging these and i use them at the gym every day.

Cushion is better, look is modern, touchpad is more responsive and the noise drowning is a touch better. Like I said, the M4s are louder and bass-punch you harder but sound is superb as usual.

These WH1000XM5's are simply a phenom! They perform as promised and allow me to get rid of the sound from the a/c unit in my rental home. Forget about the music, just LISTEN and you will fall in love this Sony headset.

Unfortunately, they get uncomfortable after about ten minutes of use. Sony didn’t add nearly enough padding to the headband so it feels like my head is right against the plastic. I’ve seen some reviews about this, but most don’t mention it, so maybe its not much of an issue for everyone.

Ensuring the correct fit can significantly improve comfort. Here are some tips on how to wear the headphones correctly:
Check the Left and Right Indicators: Make sure you are wearing the headphones with the correct orientation. The left and right sides are marked on each slider, with a tactile dot on the left side.
Adjust the Sliders: Extend the sliders and position the earpads to cover your ears completely. Adjust the sliders so that the headband touches the top of your head softly.
Ensure Proper Fit: Make sure the earpad cushions do not bump against your ears and that the headband fits snugly but comfortably on the top of your head.

Worth the investment

They have superior nose cancellation and the added features are definitely worth the investment. I do miss the fact they do no fold like my old pair. Makes it a little more bulky to carry.
