I sold my Bose 700 headphones months ago because I heard these new Sony headphones had good noise canceling. I was going on a trip, so I picked these up. I have to say these are more comfortable than the Bose. The noise canceling is great. Many YouTubers complained about the case, but since I was used to the Bose case, that was not an issue at all. I highly recommend these. They are comfortable, have great noise canceling and long battery life.

I’ve always heard great things about these headphones(Build quality, sound quality, battery life, Comfort, noise canceling) everything in these checks a box for me even as an Apple user which may sway some to stay away from these, but I have not been disappointed, the noise canceling will work so well it helps me get through my busy routine uninterrupted by the outside. The pass through on the noise canceling to talk to other when you want is also a really clean and responsive feature with no complaints, Love all the gestured features as well as it is all helpful on quick actions, whether I’m using them for work, choruses, baking they have been my everyday carry item.

If you haven't tried a set of noise cancelling headphones in awhile.... Do yourself a favor and grab these. The sound is truly amazing at all frequencies. Solid bass. Excellent high and mids. The ability to switch off the noise cancelling feature makes conversations with people around seamless without the need to yell or remove the cans. Connectivity was simple and fast. All in all a VERY solid purchase.

I lost my WH-1000XM4 and after a long consideration of repurchasing the same item or the newer one(WH-1000XM5), I chose this one. I liked the design and my ears are more comfortable when wearing for a long time. (lighter than XM4 and it covers my ears better +better leather quality). Bigger headphone case doesn't matter to me much because I wear it when I travel.

This is a gift for my son, which I’ve purchased an apple airpods max to him as last Christmas gift. Compare with the max, Sony xm5 is much lighter and peformace as good epcially in vocal, bass, and maybe better in noise cancellation. My son likes a lot!

They're extremely comfortable and hands down the best sounding headphones I've had. I own a few pair of beats Studios and while they've got good base, their sound isnt nearly as balanced. I tried out a paur of bose that were way to harsh on the highs. These are absolutely the best headphones I've ever had

I love my Sony headphones purchased from Best Buy. The sound quality is excellent. It connects easily to Bluetooth. The noise cancellation is awesome. Battery life is great. They are comfortable to wear blocking out unwanted noise while enjoying music. I recommend this brand if you want a quality product with excellent sound & noise cancellation capabilities.

Good audio quality, comfortable use for extended use

Great headphones, balanced and wide sound, new design is more comfortable to wear for longer, and the battery life is phenomenal as always. The reason these lose a star for me is the new design messes with glasses and disrupts the active noise cancelling which side by side with my WH-1000XM3’s sounds a lot worse. I thought it was a defect, but after looking at the Sony subreddit this is a common issue with glasses users. Not sure if Sony will fix it or not, but as of now ANC quality is severely reduced and underwhelming. Disappointed in Sony as $400 is a lot and I expected better.

So far so good. Always been a Bose QC fan, bought the QC 15, then upgraded to the QC35II after that. Was thinking of buying the QC45 but then saw the high reviews on this particular model. Did research and finally decided to buy this. No mistake, ANC is excellent, on par with bose. Sound quality, connectivity, battery life and customization is what made the difference.

Amazing sound quality, top of the line noise cancelling, very comfortable and lightweight. It is a bit hard to recommend at the full $400 price but on sale it is an excellent pair of headphones. My only two complaints are, some of the smart ambient mode features override you when you have it set to ambient turning back to noise cancelling when you don't want it to. As well, be warned that when you hook it up to a computer to try and use it for Discord if you use the microphone and listen at the same time the Bluetooth connection forces the audio and microphone quality to be poor quality so if you want to use it for that purpose get a cheap microphone so it will keep the good audio quality.

The Sony WH-1000XM5s are hands down the best over ear ANC headphones of 2022. If you’re seriously considering purchasing a pair, you know the features they boast. I’ll simply touch on the things that stand out and the reasons that made me want them so badly. - The vegan leather earcups are incredibly soft and supple. Combined with how lightweight the headset is overall, I barely notice them even after hours of listening. - Sound quality is great for any genre of music, but if you have preference you can customize the sound profile using the equalizer in the app. - The Headphones Connect app works well. Lots of customizability here. - With two noise canceling processors and eight microphones, the noise canceling is unmatched. - The XM5s can pair to two Bluetooth devices at once using Bluetooth 5.2, which is perfect for people who want to switch seamlessly between a phone and a tablet (or any other device for that matter). - Battery life is fantastic! Sony claims 30 hours on a full charge. The three minute charge time for three hours of playback is accurate and great for people who may neglect to keep their devices topped off. - Speak to chat is novel and super convenient. If you're listening to music and start talking to people nearby, the XM5s will pause your music and switch to ambient sound without the need to hold your hand over the ear cup as was required in the past. Once you’re done speaking, your music resumes, again without any user input. - Sony did a nice job of hiding the capacitive sensors in the ear cups so they are no longer visible, as they were with the XM4s. These enable auto play/ pause when you take the headphones off. Is there anything not to like? As you probably know, the XM5s are expensive. This is definitely a luxury product. You do get what you pay for, though. They’re also not as portable as previous WH-1000 models. The XM5s don’t fold at the hinges so the included case is bigger and less conspicuous. That being said, the case is high quality, protects the headphones well, and has a magnetic insert for storing the charging/ aux cable. Overall, I’m in love with these headphones and will be using them daily for a long, long time.

I’ve been using the WH-1000XM5 for about a month now, and honestly, they’ve exceeded my expectations in almost every way. Sound Quality The audio is phenomenal—deep bass, crisp highs, and a balanced midrange. Whether I’m listening to podcasts, classical music, or EDM, everything sounds rich and immersive. The LDAC support really makes a difference when streaming high-res audio. Noise Cancellation Sony wasn’t kidding when they said “industry-leading.” I use these on my commute and in coffee shops, and they block out everything from chatter to traffic noise. The adaptive noise canceling is smart enough to adjust based on where I am, which is super convenient. Calls & Connectivity Call quality is crystal clear. I’ve taken Zoom meetings and phone calls with these, and people say I sound better than when I use my phone directly. Multipoint Bluetooth is a lifesaver—I switch between my laptop and phone without any hiccups. Comfort & Design They’re lightweight and feel luxurious. The ear cups are soft and don’t cause fatigue even after hours of wear. I do wish they folded like the XM4s, but the flat-fold design

The headphones are comfortable best in class ANC but the price is all for canceling sound and not audio quality. The bass is none existent and voice is muffled not to mention low volume the produce at the max. Can improve a bit with EQ. For pro travelers with ANC in mind, get them. If is music then this are not the headphones for you. I returned them.

Great headphones for conference calls. Sound quality is great for the user and the participants. Switching between a studio mic and these the the person at the other end said they couldnt hear too much difference. They are light to wear feel good overall. I bought these because the noise cancellation was rated as really good and the voice quality for phone calls was excellent and that's how it's worked out. Switching between phone and computer connection is good but not excellent but better than i have had in previous headphones. Not flawless but not bad at all.

Love these headphones. The sound quality is amazing. They are not heavy and fit perfectly over my ears. The noise canceling feature is remarkable! Highly recommend this product!!
