They are quite comfortable and the battery lasts a long time. They sound very good, but audiophiles may be disappointed. Best Noise Canceling Headphones!

They still work great to this day. It travels with me all the time and sometimes I'm not listening to anything I just wear it to cancel the noise out if I'm trying to sleep or rest.

This is my first time owning a pair of over-ear headphones as well. To start things off, the unboxing experience was nothing too fancy, Sony kept it minimal. My pair came with 60% charged out of the box. The build quality was nice, very little plastic creaking noises. The black color was so prone to smudges (as you can see on my picture). First time putting it on, I was really surprised by the its lightweight and comfy earpads. The clamping force was just right and I've experienced no issues with my glasses on so far. After installing the app and setting up the headphones, I tried them out and the audio was pretty nice with default EQ. However, I felt like the audio was a little muddy, lacked of clarity so I went ahead and messed around with the EQ until I found the settings that I wanted. If you guys have no idea where to start with EQ, you could use one of the available presets to adjust. I tried switching between noise-cancelling and ambient mode. Noise-cancelling was great, I usually have music playing anyway so I experienced no issue. However with ambient mode, unless you have low volume then ambient mode doesn't really work well. I had ambient mode on and 60% volume but I can't hear my mom talk, unlike the AirPods Max which was so clear (compared mine with my friend's pair). The side controls on the headphones was pretty convenient as well, but it's not super accurate. Overall, I am happy with my purchase and I got them on-sale as well so it was a great deal!

Sony WH-1000 XM5 Review

Nice, light and comfortable for wearing for long periods of time. Sound wise, a great balanced sound. The bass is a bit less than their predecessors the WH-1000XM4’s. These are my go to headphones for listening to rock, metal and country. If you prefer to listen to rap/hip hop music or just prefer heavy bass in general, then I would recommend the Sony WH-XB910N’s or their predecessors the Sony WH-XB900N’s. Where the XM5’s really excel is their noise canceling ability. The phone calls come through crystal clear as well. It’s almost like the person who you are talking to is right there. I also like that these headphones come with a nice hard carrying case to protect your headphones if you have them in your backpack or duffel/gym bag. I have owned several pairs of Sony Headphones over the years and this pair along with my XM4’s are 2 of my favorites ever. Like I said, very comfortable as well.

Quality So Good It’ll Make You Cry

The battery life on these is easily better, the sound quality and noise cancelling on these headphones are so good, you can hear each individual instrument in your music. These headphones were the best purchase I could've made in order to make short or long flights more enjoyable. I recently had 5-hour, 7-hour, and 11-hour flights and cannot say enough about how these headphones made the trips better. They are extremely comfortable for hours of wear. The sound quality for music and videos is fantastic. The noise cancelling is best in class - even silenced the chatty passengers near me. I even napped in pure silence with just the nose cancelling on - no music, just silence. It was blissful! Are they expensive? Yes. Are they worth it? Every. Single. Penny.

The noise cancelling is much better and I think the sound is too, especially with the Sony Headphone app. They are also very comfortable to wear. The only negative I have is that they don't fold up like the previous model, resulting in a larger case.

While the WH1000XM5 units don’t have an IPX rating, these can be worn in the gym. For more serious workouts, we suggest our headphones specifically designed for that task. The sound quality is great The noise cancellation is just beautiful and the controls are awesome. The quality of the headset build is great. It feels good if you put them back in the case that it comes with, which is nice they will stay nice for a long time if you don’t, you can expect scratches dents in the plastic and even they can break because they are made out of plastic still a very nice headset gotta pay to play. The battery of life is very nice on these the sound quality. Can be very relaxing. We can connectivity is pretty nice too.

Def recommend. You'll have to get used to the settings first as they might be a bit difficult to adjust to your liking. Battery life is good too. Only con is it's not wster proof but i can manage with that.
