Thanks for sharing your feedback. We're sorry to hear you're experiencing distortion with your new WH1000XM6 headphones. That's definitely not the listening experience we want you to have—especially since you've noted that they sound great with a wired connection.

Since you're hearing distortion specifically over Bluetooth, here are a few things to check that might help: In the Sony | Sound Connect app, go to Settings and look for a setting called Bluetooth Connection Quality. If it's set to "Prioritize Sound Quality (LDAC)," try switching it to Prioritize Stable Connection. You can reset the Headphones and Disable DSEE Extreme as well!

We are sorry to hear that your experience with the WH-1000XM6 has not met your expectations, especially after moving from the XM5. The issues you described—poor sound quality, a "toy-like" microphone, and random shutdowns—are certainly not typical of this model, which features an upgraded QN3 processor and 12-microphone system for improved clarity. We recommend disabling the "Automatic Power Off" setting in the Sony Sound Connect app to address the shutdowns and performing a factory reset (holding the power and noise-canceling buttons for 10 seconds) to resolve potential software glitches affecting the audio; however, if the issues persist, it is very likely you have a defective unit and we encourage you to utilize your warranty for a replacement. Beyond that welcome fix, you'll benefit daily from the practical return of the fully foldable design, making them much easier to travel with, and a noticeably improved touch control experience for volume and playback. These minor but important refinements, alongside the superior ANC, really solidify the XM6 as a worthwhile upgrade.
