Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Alright the noise canceling capabilities are unbelievable, the ambient mode sounds nearly completely natural, i heard a leaky faucet while in ambient with music playing, they don't sound so airy (like the xm5s), the bass is solid and the new background music mode seems useful. The ai powered theater mode (spacial audio) seems hit & miss but isn't terrible.

Very comfortable, excellent battery live. But! The "smart" features are very sensitive and can cut your audio easily. Excellent for long trips.

Regarding the "smart" features, we understand how frustrating it can be when they are overly sensitive and interrupt your listening experience. The headphones are designed with features like "Speak-to-Chat" and "Adaptive Sound Control" to be convenient, but we know user preference can vary.
Fortunately, you have control over the sensitivity of these features. You can adjust or turn off most of these settings in the Sony | Sound Connect app. For Speak-to-Chat: You can go into the app settings and adjust the sensitivity of the "Voice Detect" feature to a lower level, or simply turn it off completely if you prefer manual control. For Adaptive Sound Control: You can also manage or disable this feature in the app. It allows you to customize the settings for different locations and activities, or you can set your noise cancellation and ambient sound levels manually.

Best Sony noise cancelling headphones yet

I had the XM4's, and skipped on the XM5's because of hinge issues and the sound was not as good. Now the XM6's incorporate the foldable design from the XM4's, and also the sound is way better, super well balanced, treble and midrange is clear, bass is balanced. The XM4's had bad treble and midrange clarity but the XM6's improved on that. The bass on the XM6's is also not as boomy as the XM4's. Good upgrade

Not the best for calls, but music is transcendent!

My only issue is that these headphones are poor for phone calls unless I’m looking straight ahead. They are not good to talk on the phone when I’m doing things that require looking down. The microphone gets muffled terribly and the other caller cannot hear me anymore. I have to take one star away because being able to talk on the phone hands free while I’m doing things is important to me. However, these are really made for listening to music. It was like listening to music for the first time ever. I heard new things in songs I have been listening to for 30 years! When I listened to my favorite opera song (Flower Duet) I actually teared up. There have been zero connectivity problems which is such a relief after AirPods constant connectivity issues.

Great headphones for travel + home use

My only complaint is that you can only connect to 2 devices at a time and there is a noticable delay in audio for competitive games since it uses bluetooth. If you want to play anything competitive just use the included audio jack cable.

Good with flaws

They comfortable and the battery is great. My biggest gripes are the build quality and the price. The headphones feel premium in some ways, but the hinges feel suspect and worry about their longevity.

Battery life is good also. Earcups are very comfy. 10/10 overall for this one!

I have gone through many pairs of headphone and none of them compare to THE XM6. You usually have basics qualities on headphones like sound, comfort, portability. However the XM6’s “basic” qualities are great qualities. They are by far the most comfortable and high definition sounding headphones. These are generationally superior to everything.

I will say there are a lot more notes and the additional mics were very nice. Personally I feel like the noise cancellation was still the same if not a little better but the thing that sets these apart is the immersive sound. There were three different modes you could choose from and I really enjoyed how it affected the music on top of that. The new design with a wider headband and being able to fold was very nice. I also love how they changed the case design to be magnetic very useful. The touch controls also seemed more responsive than previous designs but overall they were really good headphones for the price though I do think that the Mx 4s are still more than enough, but if you are really wanting the top of the top headphones, I think these are good

Noticeable upgrade from the WH1000XM5

Owned for 1 week when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Noticeable upgrade from the WH1000XM5. - Sound quality is a bit better, while keeping the custom EQ on the app. - ANC is clearly more effective - Having a round button for power and keeping the old long strip for ANC toggle is such a minor change but makes it so much better to use, no more getting the 2 mistaken for each other - They might not fold as much as the WH1000XM4 did, but at least different from the XM5 they do fold again which makes the footprint smaller, both in or out of the case

Best Headphones I've Ever Had!

Comfortable for an entire 9 hour flight to Europe and silenced the crying baby onboard. Made my music and games better with a more robust and complete sound. The touch features are an added bonus. If I had one negative it would be that folding them back up into the carrying case can sometimes be a bit challenging if you're in a hurry.

Good, while XM5 is still not bad

The new hinge system, potentially addressing the hinge issues seen with the XM5. I like the folding design and a smaller carrying case. The improvement on noise-canceling is notice-able. Other than that, not so much difference on sound quality. The touch control pad looks more responsive. Did not get a chance to test Microphone yet. Overall, if you like better noise cancellation and the folding design, go for it. Otherwise, XM5 is still good.
