Solid headphones

Perfect Fit, Perfect Sound, Perfect Headphones!

Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Absolutely incredible sound quality; I was not expecting a noticeable difference between the XM5 and XM6 in sound, nor the Bose Quiet Comfort, but it was immediate improvement in clarity on vocals for several tracks. While features like the Cinema mode don't really impress on music, it was certainly nice to watch a movie with, and latency was not a problem. The build quality feels significantly improved over previous Sony models and the carrying case with the magnetic clasp is also an improvement. The hardest pill to swallow on these is the price, but all other features and qualities considered, they feel justified.

Great for travelers. Block all noise

It blocks off all sound and when needed, you can tap the headphones and hear so clearly. I actually amplifies the voices allowing you to hear people talking clearer than with out using them. If you are a frequent traveler then these will work wonders on the plaine/train

Smart features disappointing.

I have never cared for over-emphasized bass of many popular headphones. These stay clear and distinctive, even in a crowded soundscape. The noise cancelation is excellent, even allowing me to lower the volume and listen at a quieter volume without outside noise at the gym drowning out the music. I ended up returning these for a couple of reasons. The smart features on these headphones are not as good as I am used to. My pixel buds have spoiled me for voice detection and auto-pausing, and sensing when I remove the earbuds. The Sonys would detect sound from outside as me speaking and pause randomly. Finally, I have an existing pair of noise canceling headphones which are not as good, but not better enough to justify a $500 purchase. If you have nothing else recent, this is a great place to start. I don't think you will be disappointed.

Perfect Headphones

Every problem that I thought I would have was not there. I thought the touch controls would be annoying, but it really is not intrusive at all. I thought some of the gestures would feel like a gimmick, but I find myself using them regularly. The build quality seems really good. The sound quality is phenomenal. But most importantly, the noise cancelling is genuinely insane. I have tested it in so many places including a crowded, loud arcade and I genuinely could not hear a thing. I love these headphones and they are definitely worth the purchase.

Travel Friendly

I tested Bose, Beats, and every other brand. But Sony has set the bar incredibly high with this model. Tuning into my music makes me feel like I am listening to the artist perform right in the studio. The quality and the noise cancellation are top tier. Would highly recommend to anyone!
