I didn’t associate Sony with a higher end experience, but our son brought these to our attention. I listened to several brands at the store before purchasing and these had the best sound. We just returned from Europe and he used them during our 8+ hr flights and was not disappointed.

Good quality, good upgrade from previous models

Sony needs to upgrade their SoundConnect app UI but the EQ still works well so outdated UI is the only small downside, would recommend.

I have gone through many pairs of headphone and none of them compare to THE XM6. You usually have basics qualities on headphones like sound, comfort, portability. However the XM6’s “basic” qualities are great qualities. They are by far the most comfortable and high definition sounding headphones. These are generationally superior to everything.

What an improvement

The noise cancelling is noticeably better, and the sound stage is also noticeably improved. I love bass and these headphones deliver. I skipped the XM5 because they didn't fold, and I'm glad these ones fold. The new carrying case is great too. Why didn't they do that sooner? Yes they're pricey, but if you like nice things and can afford to buy them, these are a great purchase.

The Sony WH-1000XM6 are hands down some of the best all-around headphones I’ve ever owned. The noise cancellation is incredible and has been a total game changer for work. Once I put them on, I can really lock in and focus without distractions, even in noisy environments. The sound quality is excellent across the board, but what really surprised me is the cinema mode. Watching movies with these feels immersive and rich, almost like a personal theater experience. Everything sounds clear, detailed, and balanced, whether it’s dialogue, music, or effects. To increase the volume, swipe up repeatedly on the right earcup touch sensor to boost the internal amplifier. Next, open the Sony | Sound Connect app to turn off "Speak-to-Chat" and "Sound Position Control," as both features can limit your maximum loudness. Finally, check your smartphone settings to disable any active "Media Volume Limiters" or "Reduce Loud Sounds" safety features.

Even better than XM5's

Noise cancelling seems better, the new cafe feature is great and they feel like an overall firmer clamping pressure for better seal. Best feature is the ability to now fold them for better storage and transportation, though, they can be a bit difficult to make them fit in their case, a little extra room may have been nice.

XM6 is really worth it

These won't replace studio headphones as far as knowing how the audio sounds, but they will replace any fullsize wireless headphones hands down. They are comfortable and light ... better than my sennhizers, beats, etc. I bought them for long plane flights, and being surrounded in nosey environments. I'm sure I won't use them as much as my small carry anywhere power beats pro's but for trips ... they are awesome. But they do cost a lot ... it might be worth getting the XM5 instead, but I got these b/c of the rotation.

Best Headphones I've Ever Had!

Comfortable for an entire 9 hour flight to Europe and silenced the crying baby onboard. Made my music and games better with a more robust and complete sound. The touch features are an added bonus. If I had one negative it would be that folding them back up into the carrying case can sometimes be a bit challenging if you're in a hurry.

Great Earphones. Earphones blew away.

Very comfortable. I used when riding my CanAm Spyder motorcycle with other bikers with loud pipes. Options are to use bluetooth or plug in earphones. Expensive but worth it - $499.00. I lost mine when a big gust of wind hit me. The earphones blew away and I could not find it anywhere. So I can not provide a picture. Maybe someone will find it in a hundred years.

The ANC is class leading (as good as the professionalized Bose A30s I fly airplanes with), the design is simple and unobtrusive, and the sound quality is acceptable for this category. However, they fall under the Bose QC Ultra in overall comfort and build, and the touch controls are finicky. Comfort was a huge disappointment here. I disliked the hard headband which made sleeping in long commercial flights bothersome, and the warm, rubbery ear-cups which centralize heat and sweat. If you value a great case, the best ANC, and superior sound - get these. If you value build quality and superior comfort, the Bose are your choice.

Great headphones for travel + home use

My only complaint is that you can only connect to 2 devices at a time and there is a noticable delay in audio for competitive games since it uses bluetooth. If you want to play anything competitive just use the included audio jack cable.
