Smart features disappointing.

I have never cared for over-emphasized bass of many popular headphones. These stay clear and distinctive, even in a crowded soundscape. The noise cancelation is excellent, even allowing me to lower the volume and listen at a quieter volume without outside noise at the gym drowning out the music. I ended up returning these for a couple of reasons. The smart features on these headphones are not as good as I am used to. My pixel buds have spoiled me for voice detection and auto-pausing, and sensing when I remove the earbuds. The Sonys would detect sound from outside as me speaking and pause randomly. Finally, I have an existing pair of noise canceling headphones which are not as good, but not better enough to justify a $500 purchase. If you have nothing else recent, this is a great place to start. I don't think you will be disappointed.

Took it to Japan

Just putting your hand over it, to block the noise cancellation so you can hear the stop. Super useful and music soond great with the setting i set for it.

I can make the necessary changes to an application because I can hear and understand the transmitted information.

Best over the head headphones

She wears it every day and the ANC is the best I've ever experienced. If you have the XM5 then maybe it's not worth the upgrade but it's a significant upgrade if you have the XM4s.

great for air travel

Greatly reduces airplane noise, allowed for both wired and bluetooth connection to the aircraft and being able to put your hand over the right ear cup allowed for conversation with flight attendants or the people you are traveling with.

Going back to my XM4s while at the gym is an insane difference in sound quality, clarity and "space". The "space" of the sound for the XM4s is like this: "| |", but for the XM6s its more like this: "| |". Way better. My ONLY complaint is that the pads on the XM6s are a little too thin, but with 3rd party companies working on replacement pads that'll be a non-issue soon. 10/10.

Seamlessly switches connections without issue. Might be uncomfortable if you have big ears and the pads dont keep the first parts that far off your head. Battery life is amazing as well.

The background noise setting is great for getting work done without losing focus on noise. Being able to connect to two devices at once is nice but the app doesnt always connect right away for controls
