Since the WH-1000XM6 is tuned for accuracy, we recommend using the Sony Headphones Connect app to customize the Equalizer (EQ) settings—cranking up the lower frequencies there is the best way to get that extra punch you're looking for!

Transparency actually sounds like it IMPROVES my hearing. These are worth every penny. Love the fit, and I have a big head. Sound is great for me, noise cancelling pushed to the test at a trampoline park on a Saturday.

Great replacement for Apple AirPod Max

The noise canceling is next level – I can throw them on anywhere and it’s like the outside world disappears. The sound quality is super clear with great bass, and everything I listen to just sounds better on these. They’re really comfortable too, even after wearing them for hours. Battery life is awesome – I barely have to think about charging. Pairing is super easy and the touch controls make them simple to use. If you’re looking for headphones that do it all – comfort, sound, and noise canceling – the Sony WH-1000XM6 is totally worth it! I purchased these to replace my Apple AirPod Max, and I’m not disappointed.

Great fit

The fit is also great, I usually workout with earbuds because headphones slide off but these stay secured to your head without crushing you.

Pricey but you get what you pay for

I listen to mostly heavy metal and I would say they are decent out of the box for heavier music. After adjusting and messing with EQ it’s much better. The noise cancelling is insane and battery life has been great.

Worth the upgrade from the XM5!

So I ended returning them. The XM6 are exactly what I was waiting for. The case is smaller and no longer has a zipper. Probably best case out there. The noise canceling is better than the XM5.

Improvement over the xm5, still has app issues

App interface with the phone is a little bit more laggy than the previous iteration, this might get fixed with software updates, unclear.

To resolve the lag you're seeing, we recommend clearing the cache within your phone's app settings. If that doesn't do the trick, a fresh start by uninstalling and then reinstalling the Sony | Headphones Connect app often resolves these types of software hiccups. This should help the app's responsiveness match the premium performance of the headphones themselves.

Great over ear headphones, but not for me

They truly are great over ear headphones, doing a great job with audio quality and a lot of great bass. The active noise canceling is really strong, and it’s pretty good at automatically switching to transparency mode when it detects you are talking. The pass through audio from your surroundings is crystal clear when that happens. It’s not for me, though, because I was trying these out to see how much better they were than AirPods Pro (2nd gen). To me, the delta was not nearly good enough to warrant something so much larger and harder to travel with (though the case is very nice). AirPods work great for me, so I’m just going to stick to those.

I havent had time yet to listen to uncompressed music just yet. But I am sure it will sound amazing since the drivers in these headphones are extremely accurate. If you enjoy music buy these. Life is to short to listen to music you love be muddy and distorted. The noise cancellation in these Sony's are next level too.
