They take the already industry-leading noise cancellation of the XM-series and pair it with a more refined sound, class-leading comfort, and a design that is genuinely practical for travelers and commuters. ​Should you buy them? ​Yes, if you are upgrading from an older model (XM4 or earlier) or buying your first set of premium headphones. The combination of best-in-class ANC, excellent sound, and a compact folding design makes them the strongest all-around choice. ​If you own the WH-1000XM5: The improvements are iterative but meaningful. The folding design and improved sound/ANC are strong incentives, but you can likely wait unless portability is a major pain point for you. ​Simply put, the WH-1000XM6 are arguably the best noise-cancelling headphones you can buy right now.

They fit great, pretty light and not suffocating to my ears. The only thing I miss about my previous headphones is the Apple ecosystem by switching from device to device seamlessly, these arent as seamless but pairing them isn’t overly difficult. They’re not cheap but if audio quality is something you’re looking for, they’re absolutely worth it!

Fabulous headphones, I love the audio. I could wear these for 5 hours straight, and I feel completely okay. They're not heavy at all. The sound cancelling is the real deal. The battery life is incredible as well. The only issue is that the Bluetooth connection frequently interrupts, which can be annoying.

I ordered these headphones for my mom to replace an older worn out pair. She says they are light on her head and have excellent sound quality. They come with a color coordinated storage case. She absolutely enjoys wearing them to listen to her Bad Bunny playlist or watching videos.

I love these headphones! I have used both Apple and Beats products, and these are by far the best performing headphones I've experienced! I love that you can customize your listening preferences within the app. I have a few different settings for music, audiobooks, and gameplay. I love music, and I feel like I'm truly hearing the artist's vision and creative craft for the first time with these headphones. The battery life is really surprising too! I have only charged them once since purchasing and listen with them daily. I also wear glasses and these are some of the only headphones that sit comfortably on my ears and don't pinch my glasses or make my ears sore after hours of use.

These headphones are way better than the apple. I tried using the apple but it just wasnt what i was looking for, these headphones got about 60 hour of battery, multi connections to devices that automatically connects to the devices your using (from pc, to phone, to ps5) theyre comfortable for small heads i belive they sell a bigger size but if you wear them too much they start to hurt. Only bad thing about it is that you gotta download an app to multi connect but there a lot of stuff you can do with the app like music will change the volume depending on where you are outside

After just one day with the Sony WH-1000XM6 headphones, I can already say I’m in love. These are some of the best headphones I’ve ever used, and I’ve already tested them out with music, a Zoom call, and a round of Call of Duty. I’ve got a trip coming up next week, and I’m actually excited to travel just to see how well these things perform in the air. Right out of the box, the sound quality blew me away. I listen to a lot of instrumental, acoustic, and vocal-heavy music when I’m working, and these headphones make everything sound super clean and clear. For example, I was listening to “Almost Home” from Gary Louris’s new album and the guitar in that song has this really warm and natural sound—like someone’s playing it right in front of you. You can even hear little things like the strings buzzing or fingers sliding which I never noticed before. His voice comes through really smooth and personal, not buried or too sharp. I messed with the EQ for a bit and while the “Heavy” bass setting is fun, I honestly think the default setting sounds the best. These headphones just seem to get it right on their own. I also tried out the “Background Music” mode, and it’s actually a neat feature. It sort of pushes the music into the background so you can focus without needing to turn it all the way off—great for when you're writing or replying to emails. They’re also super comfortable. They’re light on the head, and even though I have bigger ears and had to wiggle them into place a bit, they sit fine and I’ve worn them for hours without any soreness. The only minor thing is they sometimes slide down a little and rest closer to my jaw, which isn’t painful or anything—just a little annoying now and then. On my Zoom call, the voices sounded great and clear. I didn’t talk on the call myself (not really trying to be the guy in full cans on camera), but listening-wise, it was solid. Gaming wise, sound quality has never been my biggest priority, but I fired up some Call of Duty and could clearly hear footsteps sneaking up behind me. Definitely helped me stay alive longer than usual! (Which still wasn't long) Just the mechanics of using the headphones has been a great experience. The touch controls are fantastic. Best I’ve ever used. Big surface area, just the right amount of sensitivity. You don’t have to mash or guess—it just works. They even added a little nub on the left ear cup so you can tell which side is which without looking. Plus, the ANC and power buttons are shaped differently so you can feel the difference right away. That kind of attention to detail really shows. Overall, it's easy to see why the XM series flagships are always highly touted. Big win this year Sony!

I was skeptical about spending this much on headphones. But after months of hauling these across airports and conference rooms, I get it now. The noise cancellation is just different. I put these on during a 5-hour flight last month and genuinely forgot I was on a plane. For me, that's the whole game — I do a lot of my best work in transit, and these headphones are a big reason why that's even possible. Sound quality is excellent too, way better than I expected. And the battery just... lasts. I've never once pulled these out of my bag dead, which sounds like a low bar but trust me, with my travel schedule it matters. Honestly, if you're on the fence, just get them. I've recommended these to three coworkers already and none of them have come back to complain.

Pros: calls are clear. Mic is excellent. Battery life is great. Easy to connect to phone. Transparency/awareness mode almost sounds like you're not wearing headphones at all. Neutral: ANC is fine. Hurts my head a bit. Sounds quality is fine. Not blown away. Turned on ldac and all the bells and whistles and can't find any significant improvement over my galaxy buds pro 3s. That said, my music streaming app is YouTube music so I'm not getting high bitrate or lossless audio. Cons: prolonged usage hurts. Wearing them for longer than 2 hours hurts. Maybe I'm just not used to over-the-ear headphones but the perimeter of my ear is in pain. I bought replacement cushions from wicked cushions which did help it go from 2 hours to 3 hours, but still hurts. I still haven't gotten used to how to fold them in order to put them in their case. It's been about 2 weeks now and I still have to be very mindful when I'm putting them away as there is only one right away to put them in the case. They feel so cheap. Yes they're light because they're plastic, but they're unmistakably plastic. Strangely flimsy plastic. Had to turn ldac off in order to maintain a stable audio connection. Otherwise it would cut out pretty often. The "hey headphones" gimmick is just a gimmick. On Galaxy buds I can just say next song, previous song, start music, stop music, volume up, volume down, etc. I don't have to start with hey headphones and then wait for them to acknowledge they heard me. The galaxy way makes it fairly easy to skip through 4 or 5 songs hands free while the Sony way makes me not want to use the feature. The touch controls are somewhat unreliable. Sometimes they work and sometimes they don't.

i may be biased because i'm a big sony product person but these sound crisp and the batterly life has been superb. i also really appreciate that they made the ear cuffs bendable in order to pack into the case again. the touch features on the headphones are so easy to use as well, i sometimes default to it when using other earphones.

Thoroughly been enjoying my first month with these headphones, they have excellent noise cancellation and are very comfortable on my head, which is a plus! No headaches, and I love the style. Have not charged them since I purchased them and they are still at more than 50% of charge!

They’re good, very lightweight and comfortable for long time use. I am impressed with the sound quality. They hold charge very well, I am a college student and they last all day

This holiday season I bought the Bose QC Ultra gen 2, Bowers and Wilkins Px7 s3, and the XM6. I returned the Bose and B&Ws, and I'm keeping the Sony's. The Sony's just do everything right in my opinion. The Bose sounded the worst by far even after being EQ'd, and I would say the PX7 S3 sound the best out of the box, however the Sony's can be EQ'd and sound great. Sony's ANC is significantly better than the other two with B&W being the worst. The call quality is decent on all three, but I think the Bose were the best in that category. In terms of comfort, I found the Bose are too loose and would slide on my head, which triggers the in ear detection to pause what you're listening to constantly. The PX7 s3 clamping force is too much and are heavier, so comfort is their biggest drawback. Sony's strikes the right balance between weight and clamping force, and they don't slide on my head. The Sony's and Bose are both comfortable with glasses. Sony's build quality is probably the most questionable of three and time will tell if they fixed the hinge issue like the XM5 had. Overall, the Sony's are definitely the most well rounded of these three that came out this year, especially for noise canceling and sound quality. I might have kept the B&Ws, if they weren't so tight on the head. I was just downright disappointed by the Bose.

I upgraded from the W4 to this model. I wouldn’t say that it’s vastly different but the changes they did make are appreciated. Love the noise cancelling. The new case and folding option. Battery life is fantastic. Build feels solid. I use this everyday for work and the gym. Connections between my iPhone pro max and Dell work laptop are seamless. The upgraded sound connect is good if you are into customization and tinkering with your electronics. The blue color does smudge up with fingerprints. That would be my only issue.

This is my first pair of bluetooth headphones with noise cancellation I've purchased. I spent plenty of time watching reviews and comparisons of other bluetooth headsets with noise cancellation. Once I tried these on at my local Best Buy, I immediately could tell how much quieter the NCS was on this model compared to Bose and others on the market. Also comes with a beautiful carrying case and the battery seriously lasts forever in these things. I really love how you can also EQ how the headset sounds via the app that connects the device to your phone. You can also connect these headphones to multiple outputs at the same time (ie, my laptop and my phone) so I can seamlessly listen to anything on either device easily. Perfect purchase for those long flights. Will probably be using this pair for years to come.

These are awesome. They are extremely comfy, the battery life is solid and most importantly the SOUND and NOISE CANCELLING are unmatched. You literally can't hear anything when NC is enabled. Easily some of the best headphones I've ever owned.

I've had these headphones for about a month and a half at this point, and I've really enjoyed them from the first time I put them on. They're incredibly comfortable, and I'm able to wear them for hours without issue. The thing that caused me to finally write a review was a recent flight I was on. We were seated above the wing, with the engine not far in front of us, and it was very loud. I put these headphones on and was absolutely stunned by how quiet it was. I couldn't hear any of that noise, but I was still able to hear when an announcement came over the speaker so I could pause what I was listening to and hear it. If you want incredible noise cancelling, these are the headphones to get! Oh yeah, they have great sound quality too!

I had a pair of XM5's and those were amazing. These are even better. Foldable design makes them more compact and easier to travel. Magnet clasp on carrying case is very nice. I guess i never realize the tine it took to zip and unzip the XM5's. Nice ease of use upgrade. The ANC and transparancy modes are even better than the XM5s. The head band and ear cups feel soft, comfortable and dont cause any discomfort even after a four hour listening session. Overall amazing. As for cons there is an ANC mike in the center of the inside earcups that protrudes out a bit. I am hoping as I wear the ear cups in, this will not cause discomfort. Price increase to $450 from $400 for the XM5's was not welcomed. But I guess the price of everything is going up price wise.
