Good new headphones

Overall, a nice upgrade (But if I didnt lose my old headphones, probably would not upgrade). The quality of the sound and ANC is amazing -as expected from Sony. The gestures and controls are similar to other sony devices and intuitive. Pairing to the phone and devices are easy with the App. The case is now clam shell with a clip vs. with a zipper. Overall, good new headphones if you need a new one but not too much changes from the xm4

Owned XM2, XM4, XM5 before buying these.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Literal 5 star review. No hyperbole. I owned the XM2’s then didn’t need a new pair until they died. Those sounded incredible and my experience with them was great. Sticking with the Sony line was worth the cost of admission, so I bought the XM5’s which had just come out. After using them for a few days I returned them. They sounded incredible and much improved over my previous pair, but I hated that they didn’t fold down, plus it seemed the quality of the build was cheaper. I wanted to wait for the release of the XM6’s to see if they improved those concerns in any way, but in the meantime purchased the XM4’s to hold me over. Fast forward about 3 years to now and the XM6’s drop. Purchased them week one and as someone whose owned the XM2, XM4 and XM5 I can confidentally say that these are king of the hill to date. It seems to me if you had anything prior to the XM5, these have noticeable sound improvements and noise cancelling. If you have the XM5 previously, any improvement is not overly obvious to maybe a non-audiophile/obsessive. Maybe the hear through is better a pinch, but the noise cancelling, tuning, and overall sound is not vastly different. However, the build quality seems better and the folding is back. Recommend, that’s for sure, even with the $50 price increase.

Amazing Noise Cancelling

They're incredibly comfortable, and I'm able to wear them for hours without issue. The thing that caused me to finally write a review was a recent flight I was on. We were seated above the wing, with the engine not far in front of us, and it was very loud. I put these headphones on and was absolutely stunned by how quiet it was. I couldn't hear any of that noise, but I was still able to hear when an announcement came over the speaker so I could pause what I was listening to and hear it. If you want incredible noise cancelling, these are the headphones to get! Oh yeah, they have great sound quality too!

Just what I was looking for

There are vey distinct sounds and tones that are required in order for the session to become truly effective. Previously I had bought the Bose Ultra but they were not meeting my expectations. I was on the fence of buying these for a while because it’s an expensive device. After a few months of contemplating, I caved in and I’m so glad that I did! The sound quality out of the box was just like the Bose Ultras however the sound truly gets unlocked when you download the app. I am no sound expert but I know what I like. The app is able to run a fit test and sound test to fit YOUR needs. Then it gives you an EQ setting based on your preferences. (You can also adjust the results to really narrow down your needs)

The noise cancelation is superior to all other headphones and an upgrade to the previous ones as well. I've been using the Airpods Max for years because of the said features and I'm glad to made the switch with the XM6. Much, much better and more comfortable than the Airpods Max. And the carrying case is a huge plus.

Amazing but Comfort Sacrifice

My M3's lasted me 8 years with daily use, im hoping to get the same wear and tear out of this pair. My only issue is that the ear cups are smaller than the previous M-generation? and I dont like it, I have quite small ears. But I think the bigger ear cups are roomy and looser for all day use. Granted, these stay better on my head when im upside down in the gym. But other than that, they're barely too small. Ill keep them for the sound, but comfort has sadly sadly gone down for me.
