Don’t understand why the headphones stopped working on the right side, just a waste of money.

The Sony WH-CH520 wireless on-ear headphones are a budget powerhouse at around $59, delivering up to 50 hours of playback on a single charge with quick 3-minute top-ups for 1.5 hours of use, making them perfect for all-day listening without constant recharging. Lightweight at just 147g with soft, comfy ear cushions, they offer a secure fit for casual use, though prolonged wear might cause some ear fatigue in noisy environments due to the lack of noise cancellation. Sound quality shines with balanced 30mm drivers providing clear highs, punchy bass, and customizable EQ via the Sony Headphones Connect app, plus Bluetooth 5.2 multipoint pairing for seamless device switching and a built-in mic for solid calls. For students or commuters seeking reliable, no-frills audio excellence on a dime, these are a steal that punches way above their price.

I am surprised, shocked, and every word you can imagine in Sony! I bought this one and in less than a month it broke as you can see in the picture!! I am 38, i am not a kid or teen that will use it often or hard, i used it rarely and very gentle. I never expected this to happend with Sony brand!! The one i got from Target it was for $14 and it lasts 3 years, and SONY last only 3 weeks, and it was $40! Wow, amazing. And of course Best Buy return policy is a joke, only 14 days, and it broke only one week after return window closed. Well done folks.

These Sony headphones are surprisingly good. They appear to be basic, but basic they are not. They are lightweight and comfortable to use. Out of the box they were super easy to connect to bluetooth and were immediately available to use. A great feature is the ability to connect to two devices at once. On the box go ahead and scan the QR code for quick instructions and a link to the Sony app. The Sony app has a few good features as well. The headphones came fully charged and I have used them for a few days and they are still going strong. A charge cable is included and Sony sats a 3 min charge can run the headphones for 90 minutes. The headphones are not noise canceling, but that is to be understood as they are entry level. That doesn't take away from the features which include excellent sound quality. There is a feature known as 360 reality audio which enhances the audio. It is a bit of an odd process to get 360 reality audio as you need to take photos of your ears then your ears photos are analyzed by Sony and a specific 360 reality audio app is suggested for you personally. Some 360 apps require a payment. To be honest, I bailed on the process because I found it gimmicky. Yet, I still recommend these headphones for the great sound quality that comes standard as well as everything else that is good. The control buttons on the headphones are easy to use. The phone use with these headphones is very good. People say they hear me without issues and that the conversation sound quality is good. The Sony app does all it needs to do. Sony has done a great job with these headphones. I highly recommend them.

The lightweight build and swivel earcups gently slip on and off, while the adjustable headband, cushion and soft ear pads give you all-day comfort. Digital Sound Enhancement Engine (DSEE) restores the harmonics and liveliness lost during typical music compression, for a more authentic performance. You can even tailor music to your own taste with EQ settings on the Sony | Headphones Connect app, for a personalized listening experience. Thanks for choosing SONY. ~Earl

I got this for my daughter and after 4 months of light use they're peeling and one side is broken. Best Buy referred me to the manufacturer, Sony. Sony doesn't cover any of these quality issues and provided me with a repair center .

Got these and immediately noticed that they are lightweight as opposed to other brand name headphones. They are comfortable to wear and use; after a while I forgot I had them on.
It paired instantly with my Android phone and also works fine with my phones voice command by saying “Hey Google” do x or what is y or any other request of Google.
Music from various web sites sounds very good. The volume control is by means of the buttons on the right-side driver housing as well as where the power switch is.
Sony prompts to install an app that allows customizing the tone controls by use of an app-based equalizer control panel. This model CH510 does not have electronic Automatic Noise Cancellation but that is obviously reflected in the reasonable pricing.
The battery charge lasts a long time (Sony states 50 hours). It is supplied with a USB A to USB C charging cable of about 10 inches whic is used with a phone charger or a USB port on a computer, lamp, other USB capable devices nowadays.
There is no storage case supplied in the package.
It probably won't matter to many, but there is no 3.5mm stereo analog audio port and no audio cable was supplied to enable using the headphone as a wired device.
I feel this headphone is a solid value and should last a long time being that it is Sony which is known for quality.
Thank you for taking the time to write such an in-depth review of your experience with the WH-CH520 Wireless Headphones. We are so happy to know your satisfaction with the very lightweight & comfortable design, long-lasting battery life, reasonable price, amazing features, and superb performance of these headphones. We greatly appreciate your feedback with the 3.5mm headphone jack for wired connection and we are sorry if the WH-CH520 doesn't support it.
With the WH-CH520 headphones, you will enjoy high sound quality all day long. With up to 50 hours of battery life, stable connectivity, and enhanced call performance, meet the demands of your day.
Thank you very much for your purchase and for choosing Sony!

I got these to replace some old wired headphones that were showing significant signs of wear. I really liked the sound on the Sony WH-CH520 headphones. For the price, these wireless headphones have a very good sound quality, they are comfortable to wear, and they have features I didn't expect to find at this price point.
First, these headphones are very light and comfortable and I would at times even forget I had them on. The construction appears to be very good, but I'll see how well they wear over time. They also don't press down hard on my ears like my older ones did. So, these are considerably more comfortable to wear for a longer period of time.
I've had the Sony headphones for 4 days and have used them 4-6 hours per day. I've used these headphones on phone calls, webinars, watching a video, playing a game, and listening to music. The sound is very good (not excellent, but I'm kind of an audiophile). I was able to connect these to my cell phone (Android 13), tablet (Android 11), Desktop PC (Windows 10), and Laptop PC (Windows 11) without any problems. Pairing with a device is quick and simple. Also, the headphone charge does last a very long time and they are truly "all day" and they recharge quickly.
The controls are easy to use without taking the headphones off. The surprising thing is how well the sound from the Mic was. It is just a small Mic built into the side, but it is very good for most conversations. I never had anyone complain they couldn't understand me while I was on a phone call or webinar. In addition, the Android App is really nice; allowing you to configure the headphones and set the equalizer for better sound. These headphones also allow you to connect to 2 devices at once. So, you can listen to music or watch a movie from one source and be connected to your cell phone at the same time. Then when a phone call came in, the headphones automatically muted the sound from the music source and then returned to the music when the call was ended.
Overall, I think the Sony WH-CH520 wireless headphones are very good and I have no problem recommending these. The sound quality and included features for a pair of wireless headphones at this price makes these a great value.

I’ve been using the Sony WH-CH520 headphones daily, and they’ve exceeded my expectations for the price. The sound quality is crisp and balanced, especially for casual listening and calls. The battery life is incredible — I easily get days of use on a single charge, which is perfect for work, studying, and commuting.
The headphones are lightweight and comfortable to wear for long periods, and the Bluetooth connectivity is reliable with fast pairing. The built-in microphone works well for Zoom calls and phone conversations, with people saying I come through clearly.
If you're looking for a budget-friendly wireless headset with dependable performance, this is a fantastic choice. Highly recommend!

The Sony’s WH-CH520, the earth friendly headphones. First thing you will notice is the packaging. It is light, small, and when you open it you won’t find a lot of stuff inside like we normally use to. The box you can tell immediately is recycled material and it does not contain any plastic packaging inside. In the box you get the headphones, USBC charging cable and some manuals. Setting them up was a breeze, I do appreciate how Sony is implementing such an easy way of pairing their devices with Android and Windows operating systems. Just by turning the headphone on, it will automatically show up on your mobile device or Windows PC and ask if you want to pair it.
The headphone itself is light and it looks simple. On the right ear cups there are 3 buttons with multiple functions. It also houses the mic and the charging port. The buttons are used to control music, summon the assistant and phone calls. This is a budget headphone so don’t expect a premium build. It is mostly plastic and the same goes for the cups foam cover. The cover for the speakers also seems to be made of some type of recycled material. However, don’t be fooled by the looks, they sound pretty darn good for being budget headphone. I was impressed with the sound, it was loud, clear, and with a clean bass. It was not the type of deep base that you’ll get from a more premium headphone but it was good enough for this device.
These headphones also support 360 reality audio. To take advantage of its capabilities you have to use the Sony headphone app. In the app you turn on the 360 audio feature. You have the option to measure your ear size, apparently the app analyzed it and adjust the 360 audio accordingly. To use that feature you’ll have to download a separate 360 reality audio app and create an account as well. I honestly didn’t see the purpose of that app but it was required to be installed to finish the setup for 360 audio. I honestly didn’t notice a difference in sound without the 360 app. Call quality was good as well. Person on the other end was able to hear me loud and clear.
When it comes to batteries they will last a long time. Manufacturer suggest 50hrs of continuous play time and about 200hrs standby. The only negative I found about this headphone is the earcup size. They seem to be made for a person with small ears. I consider myself to have an average ear size not too big or too small. This headphone will not cover my entire ear, you will also notice that the ear cups are not that big compared to some other headphones. Despite their size, they were able to produce a good clean sound, but not the seal you prefer to mask the outside noise especially if you have large ear size. That’s a trade off because this device does not support noise canceling. Another thing I noticed, after prolonged use my ears got a little warm and had a little bit of sweat.
Overall this is not a perfect headphone and if you want close to a perfect device it will come with a higher price tag. For the price you pay for these, you’re getting good earth friendly headphones with good quality sound and great battery life and that’s of course if you don't have large ears.
Hi Wishkid, Thank you for sharing your thoughts on the Sony WH-CH520 headphones. Your detailed review provides helpful insights into the features and performance of the headphones.
It's great to hear that the packaging is eco-friendly and that the setup process was easy. The long-lasting battery life and good quality sound are also impressive for a budget headphone. However, it's important to note that the ear cups may not fit comfortably for people with larger ears and that the lack of noise canceling may not provide enough sound isolation in noisy environments.
Thank you for sharing your experience with the Sony WH-CH520 headphones.
Regards, Carl

I recently purchased the Sony WH-CH520 Wireless Headphones, and I am thoroughly impressed with their performance! These headphones offer excellent sound quality, delivering crisp highs, clear mids, and satisfying bass. Whether I'm listening to music, watching movies, or taking calls, the audio experience is top-notch.
The wireless connectivity is seamless, and pairing them with my devices was incredibly easy. The Bluetooth range is solid, and I’ve never experienced any dropouts or lag. The built-in microphone works great for hands-free calls – my voice comes through clear and natural.
Comfort is another standout feature. The headphones are lightweight and the ear cups are soft, making them very comfortable for long listening sessions. I’ve used them for several hours without any discomfort, which is a huge plus!
The battery life is fantastic – I get many hours of uninterrupted music on a single charge, and they recharge quickly. The stylish black design is sleek and modern, making them look as good as they sound.
Overall, I’m extremely happy with the Sony WH-CH520 Wireless Headphones. They offer great sound, comfort, and value at an affordable price. Highly recommend them to anyone looking for high-quality wireless headphones!

I’ve been using these headphones daily and they’ve exceeded my expectations. The sound is crystal clear with strong bass and balanced mids/highs. They’re super comfortable—even during long listening sessions—without causing ear fatigue. The Bluetooth connection is stable and easy to pair, and the battery life lasts me multiple days on a single charge. Great value for the price, especially with the recent $10 price drop. Highly recommended!

I needed a set of Bluetooth wireless headphones for a new LG OLED television I had just purchased. This set of Sony headphones fit the bill perfectly and at an exceptional price point. They are feather light, connected to my tv with ease, and have plenty of battery life for hours of use between charges. The ear cups are small and sit on my ears as opposed to over them but I can wear them for extended periods of time without any discomfort. Then sound quality is good. There is no noise cancellation so I would recommend using them in an environment without too much ambient noise. All in all I have been very pleased with them so far.

Great headphones for casual listening. Excellent battery life too! Mids and Bass are definitely synthesized, but for use with my Samsung Tab, it definitely is better than ear buds. Definitely will be replacing my coffee table ear buds that I always seem to misplace.
The packaging states 360 Reality Audio. This is not a feature you can just turn on. It requires the Sony App to be installed and then requires your to run a setup, which includes the app taking pictures of your ears to give you the best sound experience, where they upload the pics to their servers to be analyzed and stored and then create the sound profile for your personal experience. Truth is, I cannot know if this is really being done because you cannot access the feature unless you run this setup. Then once it is done, it tells you which apps it is compatible with...which happen to be none that I use...which only 6 or 7 were listed. On the Sony's product website though Amazon Music Premium (not included with Prime) was listed. I could test this feature being a Prime member for free for 3 months so I gave it shot.
Once in the music app, it will display which songs have 360. And honestly, I didn't actually care for the 360 version of the songs, it made it feel more hollow. I jumped back and forth between the SD and lossless Ultra HD versions of the song and then compared to YT Music versions. Overall I preferred the non-360 versions.
They don't list any video streaming apps that work with the 360 audio feature, but watching the demo via YouTube it doesn't sound like (no pun intended) that it is a goal. This is a licensed feature, so I'm guessing this is supposed to be a Dolby Atmos competitor for music listening. I tested Spiderman Into the Spiderverse via Movies Anywhere app and it did sound really good and picked up on the left right channels. The YouTube demo I mentioned, does add layers to the basic 2 channel setup, that makes it feel like it is spacial audio, but truthfully I didn't feel like an immersive experience.
I feel like my testing of the audio apps was more true to life than their demo.
My review rating I struggled with as I am not a fan of "walled garden" approach to extra feautres that are not explicity stated on the packaging and then getting into the app it was a bit complicated a first to get the ear photos taken. But the more I understand that this is a new technology/feature and has not been fully adopted by the industry, the fact that they are including this feature in this price range is also something to note.
I do like the compactness of these compared to some other brands and while definitely not as compact as ear buds, the earpieces do rotate to lay flat, so putting in a backpack or just lying on the table will make for a slimmer profile.
They are definitely more comfortable than earbuds in my opinion and long movie sessions won't cause ear fatigue.
One thing I think most can agree with is you cannot go wrong with Sony. They have always represented a premium brand along with premium quality!

These headphones are amazing. Its good enough for enjoying music and for me, really great for meetings remotely. The mic is good enough and I find these headphones to be very comfortable.
Can't really beat the price and quality combination. In my opinion, these are a great deal for daily headphones. For hi end audio, other headphones would be more suitable but I've found these headphones to be not overbearing in the audio spectrum.
Battery life also appears really good. Used them all day and it says it has 70% remaining.
Plus I like how fast it syncs to my devices, another plus
