Charging
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Overall these are very good headphones. They sound great and are comfortable to wear. Pairing was easy. My only complaint is the fact that these phones require the usb cable that came with them and will not charge with any other usb cable. The supplied cable is very short so if you have a wall outlet charger you need to leave them on the floor. I picked up a usb extension cable so I can have them charging by the stereo. I don't understand why a special cable should be needed as all my other devices charge with a standard usb cable.

Econo Bose
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Comfort: These are as comfortable as the Bose QC35, much better than the more expensive Sonys (ABN100 and MX1000) that have a 'tighter' fit and dont work for larger ears. Build: The build quality reflects the price, but the sound quality does not (I would rate equivalent to the AIWA ACR-1 and Sony ABN100). NC: Only tested the noise cancellation in an office environment, the Bose and MX1000 perform perhaps 30% better so these have a very good price/performance ratio.

Quality wireless sound horrible wired
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Have had these for about 3 months now and wanted to wait to review until they had broken in and had a clear picture of how they would sound. The good- The ability to customize the sound through the app really makes these headphones awesome, I was able to get exactly the treble/mid/bass I was looking for. The battery life is amazing, use them almost daily and have charged them twice in 3 months. Zero problems with connection or staying connected. The bad- The sound quality using the cord is poor, clipped highs, muffled base, and the custom eq only works when connected wirelessly. Can't get over how strange this is as most headphones sound better when wired, had I tried them wired sooner I may have returned. Comfort is sketchy as the muffs are not quite thick enough to keep the inner mesh off the top of my ear which results in discomfort after long stretches of listening. In the end if you just want wireless headphones that sound good and have amazing battery life these are worth a look (especially if they are on sale, think I got these for $89). If you are looking for headphones to run wired through a device/headphone amp/computer keep looking as there are better options

In Short
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great headphones! I love the sound(On all styles of music) and the app is a nice addition, although I have other EQ apps that I utilize with these headphones as well. A lot has been said about the 700CHN all over the place so I am not going to add much. All in all these are a STEAL for the current price, and the ANC WORKS. Fits my big head perfectly, and the noise isolation is superb.

Great for the price.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I went through two other noise-cancelling headphones before settling on this; Bose QuietComfort 20i, and 1More Dual-Driver LTNG ANC. Both models are wired and, admittedly, offer decent noise-cancelling. However, my heart has been settled on wireless for a while now, so I ended up returning them because the wires really got in the way. Going back and looking at wireless noise-cancelling headphones, the gold standard are, obviously, Bose QuietComfort 35 II, and Sony's WH-1000xM2. Sony's offering is even better with features like the ambient sound modes. But, we're talking $349 here for each, and the cheapest Sony will get the WH-1000xM2 is around $299. The new WH-CH700N grabbed my attention with their price tag. At first, I was hesitant. But after testing them out in-store, I thought they might be worth the money because, not only they do a good job with noice-cancelling, they also fit comfortably on my head, even more than the WH-1000xM2 (this is a personal preference as not all heads are the same size, obviously.) Here's what you might want to know about noise-cancelling in case you're new to it; it's not magic that, with the touch of a button, completely blocks noise out. Most often, the different technologies used by different companies are best at cancelling noise in the lower frequency range, like the loud hum of an airplane's jet engine. Mind you, you'll still hear some voices and high-frequency hissing, since cancelling high-frequency noise might actually result in you hearing a hiss coming into your ear, which you don't want (active noise-cancelling is basically "anti-noise" coming in with a frequency that matches that of the noise — that sometimes justifies the "cabin pressure" effect when the noise-cancelling is too good.) So, come into the world of noise-cancelling with the understanding that human voices are not, for these headphones and others alike, noise; neither are noises at higher frequencies. What are these headphones like on a plane? Better than you'd expect. Again, this isn't magic, but Sony managed to put together a decent pair of headphones with a nice, balanced sound signature, and a good amount of noise-cancelling, enough to make you think, "whoa, why haven't I gotten something like this before?" when you remove them and realize how much noise they are actually cancelling. If anything, it's simply better than not having any noise-cancelling what-so-ever. Some drawbacks with the WH-CH700N include the fact that they don't come with a case. Not even a cloth pouch. Bad move, Sony. I bought a third-party case from Amazon which does the job, but it's never like using a case from Sony themselves, should they design one (please do). Also, the ear cups rotate but don't fold inward, so you're left with a flatted pair of headphones, but they still take more real-estate than others. Not sure what else to say about these. Given the abundance of headphones with noise-cancelling, it probably comes down to price for most, as it did for me. Sure, the bells and whistles of the WH-1000xM2 are appealing (they even optimize noise-cancelling depending on atmospheric pressure — like, seriously). But for $199 ($149 when they're on-sale), the WH-CH700N proved to be worth the money for me. Lightweight, comfortable, offering decent sound and equally decent noise-cancelling in a well-put-together package from Sony. Right on.

Great for the price
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Purchased MPOW H-5s but they were too tight. Found these at Best Buy for $99 on sale. These have great sound and are COMFORTABLE. The only drawback is that there is no travel bag provided, probably because they don't fold.

Best headphones ever
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I wish I could rate these 6 stars the are the best head phones I have ever had. Now I’ve blown the speaker out of 2 cars and cracked my ear buds in about 6 months to a year. However I have owned these headphones for about 2 years now with the bass all the way up and more times than not full volume and it doesn’t even distort. I mow lawn with these I use my snowblower or just running the vacuum and I can hear them a little but not much which is perfect for me. The controls are also very simple to use no matter what. These headphones also are not waterproof but I’ve used them in snow rain and with a lot of sweat. ’m not a die hard Sony guy but after these headphones I may just be.

Excellent headphones!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Picked these up on sale and what a value!! Great sounding headset with or wthout noise cancelling on. Plenty of control through the Sony app to tweak them to anyones sound preference. Noise cancelling is not as effective as other sets, but this was secondary to sound quality to me. I was looking for a pair of wireless headphones that did not lose sound quality with NC off and these cerainly did not disappoint! I also own a pair of Bose wired Quiet Comfort 25 headphones and find the NC gives me a headache after a short while and they lose sound quality with it switched off.. Would definitely purchase again. I do wish Sony included some kind of pouch/case, but for the price it’s difficult to complain too loudly.

Not as good as they could be
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought these headphones for comfort over my earlier set. The noise cancelling performance was only average. The controls were not as easy to manipulate as ones that have a tap and swipe for volume play pause skip. Lastly, a steak developed in the clamp mechanism that remains and is slightly annoying.

Alright, but disappointing
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It's wireless and works very well most of the time. The battery life is good. The controls are easy to learn and it's adjustable to different head sizes. The wires it comes with are very nice. But I think I would've been better off with a different pair of headphones. The noise canceling ability is near nonexistent, in fact the closest its actually come to canceling noise is the fact that it's worn over my ears, and most sounds still come through. I switched the NC button to work as an assistant button to see if that was any better, but the assistant only recognizes texts, not emails. The headphones creak a lot as it bends and turns, though I'm not sure if that's normal. I had connected it to my phone and it works like it should. But when I connected it to my laptop, the only thing that worked was the pause/play control, sound wouldn't even come through. But regarding sound overall, it isn't terrible but it's about the same as the kind I get from $10 ear phones. So it's alright since it does the bare minimum of what I'd like and I can put up with what it can't do, but I wouldn't buy it again.

Good sound but somewhat uncomfortable
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The sound is good on these headphones but they are not exactly the most comfortable to wear. The material in the ear pads feels rather tough. They are even less comfortable if you wear glasses. They were a good deal on sale ($90 vs the regular $200), but I would probably go for the higher-end XM3 model if I was buying again.

Great sound ok ANC
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Active noise canceling is alright nothing special but the sound on these are amazing very crisp and nice bass only issue I have and maybe I have a bad unit but I think it's just the plastic rubbing if I move enough I hear a break from time to time idk I might return or live with it but I bought a 2 year replacement so don't want to waste that.

Awesome Deal
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. You really can't beat these for the price. They are not going to deliver the sound quality of a more expensive set but for $99 you get a lot of headphone. I am giving these 5 stars due to the value for the price, not because they perform like a higher end set. Also, the battery lasts forever.
