I'm going to start with a pro/con list, and then give you my opinion in a little more detail. Pros: - Great sound. - Fantastic noise cancellation. - Awesome battery life. - Rock solid Bluetooth. - Easy pairing. - Lightweight. Cons: - Build quality seems less than robust. - Vinyl ear pads and headband pad uncomfortable. - Can mounted controls are less than intuitive. Now for the more verbose version. These headphones sound really good. Solid bass, full mids, and clear highs. Listening for a couple hours feels comfortable, and my ears remain happy. The noise cancellation is AWESOME. I've paid three times as much for lower quality noise reduction. I wore them mowing the lawn yesterday afternoon, and the mower was reduced to a low rumble. Much better than anything else Ive used (except $1000 aviation headsets). After mowing the lawn and doing yard work for four hours, when I powered them off, the little voice said "battery fully charged." At less than 1% drain over four hours, they should last at least 400 HOURS! I doubt they will, but the math is accurate. Even if they last 10% of 400 hours, that's 40 hours. Pretty fantastic. With other Bluetooth headphones, I sometimes experience spotty Bluetooth connection performance with my phone in my back pocket when I move in certain ways. The Bluetooth with these never even hiccuped, and pairing works exactly as expected and takes just seconds. I don't really notice them on my head while wearing them, as far as weight is concerned, at least. The synthetic (plastic/vinyl/whatever) ear pads and headband pad are less than comfortable outdoors on a hot day. The material doesn't breathe, causing my head to ears to become hot and sweaty. Obviously, the yard work exacerbates this issue. The build quality feels a little flimsy, but the hinges feel solid and the headband is stainless steel covered with plastic on top and the vinyl pad on bottom. The plastic just feels a little less than solid. It's hard to describe. It's just how they feel to me... The controls mounted on the bottoms of the cans aren't easily tactilely distinguished from one another. As a result, button pressing often yielded unexpected results. I'll likely get used to it in time, but right now it's a little annoying. After saying all that, let's get right down to the crux of the biscuit. At $130, you'll have a vey hard time beating these headphones. The sound quality and noise reduction alone make these a great value. Add in the bluetooth performance and battery life and they become a no-brainer. I docked them a star for the controls and sweaty ears, but they're very nice. These will be my "work headphones" for many years to come. I really like them.

A bit small, but good sound

However, they don't quite go big enough for my big head (7-5/8 hat size), even with the head band stretched out all the way, so they press on the edges of my ear just a bit. If you have a normal sized head, they'll likely be fine. The buttons don't have quite enough relief, so it's easy to hit the wrong one when adjusting them. So overall, I like them, but they're not perfect.

The first issue that I have is that I purchased these for work and they are not Microsoft Teams certified. The audio continuously drops when using Microsoft Teams and the only fix is to switch to your computer speakers and then back to the headphones. There are multiple forums online with users having the same issue when using them in Microsoft Teams. My second issue is that in my opinion they are just not all that comfortable. I am upgrading from some Skull Candy Hesh over the ear headphones to these mainly just to get the noise canceling feature and my Hesh's are much more comfortable. Also I wish that they worked with and were supported by the Sony app.

Great for Working from home

Since purchasing this headset, I am only using this one for work and play. I am able to connect the Bluetooth to my work computer and participate in Zoom and Teams meetings perfectly and also use it to make through online services. I love the wide earcup that doesn't squeeze my ears to my skull, it's not a great feeling when working from home. I used to switch between Beats X, and Beats Solos as having the earbuds nonstop for the day doesn't really block out any noise around me. I love the noise-canceling feature for both work and play. If they were as easy to swtich from laptop, to work phone, and personal phone I'd give them a 5.

When 2 Bluetooth devices have already connected to the WH-CH710N in a multipoint connection, and one is used for music playback (A2DP connection) and the other is used for calls (HFP/HSP connection), another smartphone cannot connect via Bluetooth connection with one-touch (NFC) even if you touch the smartphone with the WH-CH710N. In this case, disconnect one of the already connected Bluetooth devices and touch the smartphone you want to connect with WH-CH710N again. Could've been better for the price.

(I don't like heavy bass which is unfortunate since many not studio grade headphones pump the bass most of all.) I was recommended them by the Best Buy staff since with the Sony app it would meet all my needs and more. However, these models arent actually supported by the app so the sound they have is the sound you get which sounds kind of muddy. Voices were mushing together and the bass was a bit much since all the lows stood out much higher than anything. The plus side was they felt pretty comfortable in the little bit that I used them.

Unfortunately, Sony Headphone | Connect app is not supported on this model. We'd like to help and make this experience around. For low sound quality, please try some of these solutions below:
Turn down the volume of the connected device if it is too loud.
Keep the headset away from a microwave oven, wireless LAN device, etc.
Bring the headset closer to the Bluetooth device. Remove any obstacles between the headset and the Bluetooth device.
Keep the headset away from a TV.
Switch the Bluetooth connection to A2DP with the connected device when the headset and the transmitting Bluetooth device are connected via an HFP or HSP Bluetooth connection.
If you connect a device with a built-in radio or tuner to the headset, broadcasts may not be received or the sensitivity may be reduced. Move the headset away from the connected device.
If the headset connects to the previously connected Bluetooth device, the headset may only establish the HFP/HSP Bluetooth connection when it is turned on. Use the connected device to connect via an A2DP Bluetooth connection.
When listening to music from a computer on the headset, the sound quality may be poor (e.g., difficult to hear the singer’s voice, etc.) for the first few seconds after a connection is established. This is due to the computer specifications (priority on stable connection at the start of transmission and then switches to priority on sound quality several seconds later) and is not a headset malfunction.
If the sound quality does not improve after a few seconds, use the computer to establish an A2DP connection. As for the operations on your computer, refer to the operating instructions supplied with the computer.

Great sound, Great battery life, but cheap plastic

The sound is phenomenally clear, and crisp, and the battery life is fantastic. However, the build quality is lacking. I'm over 40, and take really good care of my things, however the plastic under the band snapped on both sides. No abuse, no excessive stretching of the band. Just cracked, and snapped in the same place on both sides. Clearly a design issue. For this reason, I am unlikely to purchase Sony for my replacements.

Paired with no issues. Instructions are clear and the buttons are very accessible. Configurations and options are simple. Could receive calls also. Excellent Headphones

It took a while to realize the pads can be swiveled to match one's ear angle. Some have complained that the noise cancelling doesn't eliminate high frequencies. This is true for safety reasons. The canceling works very well for the typical lower frequency noise like running fridge, furnace, microwave oven, etc. Sometimes the wife must stand in front to get my attention because I didn't hear her. The battery lasts quite a long time and charges very quickly - but the headphones cannot be used while charging, the only feature I would change.

Very good headphones at a reasonable price.

Have not tried to use with my iPhone up to this point. Noise cancelling is very effective. I think think these will work really well on an airplane. I haven't been on a plane since COVID started, but the next time I fly, I will definitely take these.

Should be WH-CH500N, lacking EQ
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I own several of the WH-CH700N ANC headphones from Sony and their ANC earbuds too. This new model drops the EQ feature, that's usually a higher end feature, so to drop that and increase the model number is terrible for Sony to do. The WH-CH700N is the older model with an EQ and the WH-CH710N loses that and gains the ambient sound (which for headphones I just move the earpiece to talk with someone, it's not obtrusive like an earbud's painful remove & insert, so I've never needed ambient mode especially if ANC is off). Anyway the speakers themselves are pretty good. No matter what the headphones I always want EQ and iOS doesn't let you EQ everything in software so you need it built-in to the headphones. They can't handle really deep bass and will "bottom out", I've got some wired cans from JVC if I want to trance out with super bass (headphones that do bass that hits your brain don't sound good so you really need EQ). The Sonys are good overall, I personally need an EQ, but they've never made me not stop listening because they suck like some headphones do (I'm thinking of big brands that people think are good because they advertise).
