Great battery life, but otherwise disappointing…
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I’ve been pretty happy with prior Sony audio products, but I have to admit I’m a little disappointed in these headphones. I know these aren’t their flagship headphones, but I still expected better. The good… -Battery life is amazing! I’ve got several hours of listening time, and they still announce that they’re fully charged when I turn them on. Sony claims 30 hours, and that’s probably achievable, which isn’t surprising based on experience with other Sony products. -The sound is decent. Not stellar, but definitely better than average. -Noise cancelling is also pretty good. I spent several hours in a server room, and these headphones had no problem cancelling out the endless drone of server fans. That said, the ‘Ambient’ setting isn’t very selective about what it passes through, and is only marginally better than turning the NC off. The not so good… -After an hour or two, they can become quite uncomfortable. There is very little padding inside the ear cup, and the depth is somewhat shallow. It didn’t take long before my ears began to hurt. It felt like the inside of the cup was pressing against my ear. -The material they used to cover the cushioning around the outside edge of the ear cup doesn’t breathe well at all, and the area around your ears will probably begin to perspire. -They don’t work with the Sony app, so you can’t adjust any settings. -They do not come with a carry case; not even a cheap nylon pouch. -The usb charging port is a little recessed, so you may run into issues if you need to charge them with a usb cable other than the one that’s included. -Did I mention they get uncomfortable after an hour or two?? Honestly, for this price, I expected better. If you truly need noise cancelling headphones, I’d pass on these, and spend a little extra. If you don’t need noise cancelling, you could probably spend a little less, and get something considerably more comfortable.

Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.being completely honest these kinda suck and are definitely not worth 100$. you can hear every single sound outside of the headphones, meaning everyone will hear what youre listening to in a public place which no one wants. also the noise cancelling doesnt work? maybe im just stupid but it just sounds like soft wind blowing and i can hear everything else around me. though it is comfortable and looks nice, not really worth it at all.

The issue where sound can be heard from outside the unit sometimes happens if the headphones are not worn properly or the volume of the music playing might be too loud. You may consider lowering the volume down. Adjusting the headband and the earpads properly can give you a firmer hold, comfort and better noise canceling experience. If the effect of noise canceling is not sufficient, please make sure that this function is turned on. The noise canceling function is effective in low frequency ranges such as airplanes, trains, offices, near air-conditioning, and is not as effective for higher frequencies, such as human voices. They're falling apart being held together with electrical tape. That said, sound is amazing! and I can mow the lawn and still hear. Mic does pic up a good amount of background, but what wireless doesn't?

Sony really cut corners

They should not be in the same model number group at all. I own several of the WH-CH700N headphones and they have a nice Sony app that controls EQ (preset and manual) and ABC for a lot of Sony's headphones. This new batch however has cut out the EQ?! How can Sony even call these a 700 series model, without the EQ option (needed for cheap and expensive headphones) these should be a 200 or 400 series, basically something to not trick the customer the WH-CH710N is like the older WH-CH700N. Also they went from Micro USB which is everywhere to the "new" USB-C (which I still only have for the Nintendo Switch.) Admittedly USB-C might be tougher and Micro USB requires very careful handling or it will break over time. I wish Sony had taken the proper path of upgrading to USB-C and keeping everything the same for features. Dropping the EQ feature is a shame or sham however you want to spell it.

Not work the sale price of 98

I really wanted to like these, I got them on sale for $98 and was expecting the sound quality to be a lot better. The only thing these have going for them is comfort. They are light, the earpiece is pretty soft, and they have a nice fit. They are kind of ugly though, which I wouldn't really care if the sound was better. I have to turn the volume all the way up to get a decent level of sound. The bass is kind of flat. Noise cancelation doesn't really do a whole lot. What really frustrated me was the Sony app, it doesn't do anything at all. I was hoping to be able to use the app to mess with the sound settings and hopefully increase some bass and the audio level so I didn't have to max out my volume. The app only goes to the Bluetooth settings to pair the headphones, and that's it. My Skullcandy Hesh 2 were better in almost every aspect and I didn't need a broken app to work with them. Returning these today for something else.

I can still hear noises coming in, but it more of a muffle sound instead of canceling the noise. The AirPod pro does a better job at canceling out sounds. The sound is decent. Not even worth the price. It should be around $60-80 price range.

Sound quality was really good plus the bass but product quality wasn't there. After 6 months the right speaker just stopped working. I had the qeeksquad plan and just used it to upgrade to the next set of Sony's.
