Decent Headphones
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. These Sony XB-700 headphones are a fairly decent wireless audio solution for those living the Bluetooth lifestyle. They sit comfortably over your head and the faux leather speaker covers feel nice over your ears. Bluetooth range is above average for this class of headphones. I left my phone in my bedroom and was able to move about my house while maintaining a solid connection over 200 feet away through walls and the floor when in the basement. They charge via an included USB-C cable but there is no wall wart and the cable is very short. It is also very light. It's the lightest set of wireless headphones I've used. One complaint about build quality is the rotating speakers. I can see where the rotation could make them easier to wear around the neck when not in active use but the rotation mechanism feels incredibly flimsy and I'm worried that down the road this could end up being a failure point. There is no locking mechanism to hold them in either position. Sound quality is not quite what I would expect from a Sony product like this. There is a lot of bass but the mids and highs suffer and the sound not quite balanced. You can make adjustments via the Sony headphone app for iOS or Android. I made a few test calls to test the built in microphone and folks said i came through loud and clear and i could hear them just fine. There is no active noise cancellation so your milage may vary in noisier environments. Ovreall a decent pair of cans.

Great Headphones At A Good Price
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.INCLUDED Wireless headphones, USB-C to USB cable and a 3.5mm audio cable. ALL AROUND FIT Very comfortable. Plenty of padding around the ear area and the headband has padding as well. DESIGN Battery life is approximately 30 hours which is becoming the norm for your medium to high-end headphones. These have a fast charge of 10 minutes and will yield 90 minutes of listening, otherwise about 4 hours of charging will give you a full charge. The headband can be expanded for larger heads. DESCRIPTION The controls are fairly simple and well laid out. Three of the buttons on the headphone control play/pause, skip and answering/ending calls. You can also activate Google Assistant or Alexa which is a great feature. Once you have paired the headphones to your phone for the first time, it will connect automatically every time you turn them on. I believe the light weight of these headphones are due to some of the plastic construction, although they are quite sturdy considering this. APP The Sony Headphones Connect app allows you to customize your bass levels and choose between different soundstages, such as arena, hall and club. The app allows you to change the audio output settings and see how much battery life is left and allows you to adjust an array of audio features. RECOMMENDATION If you like bass like I do, you will love the Extra Bass which can be adjusted in the Sony Headphones app. I think the sound is very good once adjusted through the app and the price is right. I would definitely recommend these for your everyday listening.

Sometimes they work, sometimes they don't.
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. When these work, they are great! But.... at least every other day we have to reset them so they will connect to our smart TV. Then we have to go into TV settings to connect them. We have no idea why they keep losing their connection, but it sure is annoying. Don't think I would buy them again.

||Posted . Owned for 1.5 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Worked well the maybe 3 dozen times I used them, went to use them today and they will not turn on. I image I used them a total of maybe 40-50 hours and now they are dead. Still look completely brand new.

All Smiles For Bass Lovers
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. When it comes to headphones, comfort is at the same level as audio quality for me, and the WH-XB700 are comfortable enough. But only because they fit well. Depending on your ear sensitivity – and maybe size, it may not feel as comfortable. To me, they are almost perfect in that category. The cushions are soft and pudgy with padding added to the headband. Setup was a no brainer. NFC makes it easy to pair them with your phone. No code typing or endless retries. Because of some bad experience that I have head with some headsets, the first thing I tried was voice calls and the mic allowed for clear audio at both ends of the conversation. Absolutely no complaints there. Oh yes, Alexa and Google assistant are built-in built-in. I not only could control music, which makes a lot of sense but also my lighting and other smart home devices from any room in the house. What really impressed me here was that it comes with both assistants. It’s hard to find one let alone two of them in headphones. Nice touch, Sony. Bass is on the name and if that’s what you’re looking for, you will not be dissatisfied. I really like it for that but being crazy about audio quality, I was not impressed with the mids. Still, I wouldn't expect any better in such a type of headphones. The same goes for the highs but only fans of jazz and classical music will notice anything. The lows on the other hand was good and didn’t feel muddy. The only complaint that I have thus far is that it feels like plastic. The good news here is that it also feels strong. There is no digital noise canceling but who cares about that when you’re enjoying all the extra bass? For excellent noise canceling, Sony does have another and updated model that I don’t own but it should be even better than the wonderful WH1000xm2. In summary, if you are a bass lover, you can’t go wrong with these headphones.

Great Extra Bass, Wireless with USB C Recharge
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Sony's XB700 are great rich sound extra bass wireless headphones. I also happen to own the Sony CH500, and the XB700s are a great step up and a much better product. Sound is richer, they deliver on the extra bass promise and they have an overall better feel/quality to them - they look premium. The XB700s have generous ear cushions and padding on the headpiece. Controls are easy to use and are all proper buttons! Thank you Sony! There's also a dedicated button you can map to Alexa or Google Assistant, but you need to install the free Sony app to change the settings. Sony deserves credit for also making this rechargeable Bluetooth headphone charge via USB C. Thank you again Sony! I am trying t move to a USB C lifestyle, so appreciate this. Sony also deserves bonus points for including a 3.5MM audio cable so that you can also use these in non-Bluetooth situations (think in-flight entertainment or maybe a portable games console). My only complaint is that Sony once again doesn't include a handy carry case for the cable/charger/headphones. I picked up an aftermarket case for $20, but really wish Sony would include a case to protect your headphones and keep the cables safe. But the audio quality is superb and I think Sony has a winner. Definitely recommended.

disappointment
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Arrived in good condition even though shipping carton had some slight crush damage on one end. Upon opening of outer box there's a message to scan code to download app. Which I did, using my phone. Once downloaded the headphones quickly paired with my phone. Unfortunately it wasn't my phone I wanted to pair these with. It was another Bluetooth enabled device, which I cannot download the app to. I tried several times but could not get these to pair with the device. Then when I went online to return them I found out that I exceeded the 15 day limit. These worked great with my phone but my phone only has about 30 songs on it.

Great for Music but thats about it
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was looking for a headset that I can use while gaming, music and podcast. I do not use a microphone so I decided to get a regular wireless headset. For the price, I do not see the value of this headset.

Sony Does It Again with Great Audio!!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. As an avid daily walker, I rely on headphones to listen to music in order to keep me moving. Suffice to say, Sony’s XB700 does a wonderful job of providing great sound, balance and ease of usage, which points to win, win, win for me! Out of the box, the connection that these provided was great as I am an Android user primarily. After employing the Sony, Connect app from the Google Play Store, I immediately listened to some of my 300 plus songs that are stored on Dropbox and the bass was great as the highs were great and the lows were great as well. I did not experience any tinny or faint sounds as both clarity and sound were great. I listen to a variety of genres such as rock, jazz, country, and my overall favorite 80’s pop rock. I was super excited about the inclusion of both Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa. As an owner of both in my home, I decided to employ Google Assistant as my go to for now. Seemingly, I rely on Google Assistant more frequent than Alexa. Mainly Alexa is used when I want to have audio books read aloud to me. The activation of Google Assistant was easy as a simple touch. Overall, Sony has done a wonderful job in making my life more simplistic, stress free and HAPPY!
