Two failed units in within six months

We bought these headphones for my husband, who jogs 5-6 miles a day, outside or on a treadmill. The first set--bought in January--failed with increasing frequency in April. In order to obtain a replacement pair under the warranty, we had to return that pair and have Sony receive it before they would send out a replacement. That took about two weeks of very boring running. The replacement unit, which Sony sent out on May 28, began to fail within three weeks. While he really likes the headphones when they work, they aren't very good at that. We're hoping the next replacement will last longer because we'd really like to get more than a year of use out of $130 headphones.

I would not give a 1 star had there been an option for "0 stars". Not a reliable brand at all. I had a different model of Sony headphones , and it broke by the hinge. Reached out to both US and Japan headquarters about the issue. Received a reply email stating that the Sony engineers agree that there is a defect with the product, but they cannot exchange it because it was out of warranty. If a product has a defect, and company admits it, then why does not matter what the purchase date it. Anyway I highly recommend to stay away from sony headphones in general.

Everything lights up. Purty as a Christmas tree, but no sound comes out of it anymore. Not that I'm going to miss it. It was hollow and tinny. What I'm going to miss is the $75+ I paid for this thing.
