Extra Bass, but where's the treble?

The noise cancellation was pretty good, about on par with my old Bose QC15. And the option to filter *in* ambient sound so you can listen to music and still hear conversation around you is pretty neat. However, the sound profile is so tilted toward the bass, I kept wondering where the treble was. (I know: it's on the more expensive WH-1000XM.) Adjusting the EQ in the app to the "Bright" setting helped some, but if the hardware just isn't there, no amount of adjusting will fix it. If you listen to mostly bass-heavy music like hip-hop/R&B, you might be perfectly happy with the sound. If, like me, you listen to mostly rock and metal, you'll be left wondering where the cymbals went. At full price, I would have been really disappointed. For a Black Friday 50% off special, these are still a good value. They're just not for me.

I wear hearing aids and I get feedback on one side that is very annoying. My solution is to not use the ear piece on that side which defeats the purpose of the headset. The sound quality, frequency response etc. on the side that I use is very good. I could have purchased a single headphone set for less money. I would not recommend to hearing aid users.

Resetting and Initializing the headphones will also help on resolving the issue.
To reset, press both the (power) button and the CUSTOM button simultaneously while charging. The headset will be reset. The device registration (pairing) information is not deleted. If the issue still occurs even after resetting, please initialize the headset by turning off the headset while the USB Type-C cable is disconnected and then press and hold the power button and the CUSTOM button simultaneously for 7 seconds or more.

The sound is excellent, pairs easily through Bluetooth, and the battery lasts for about 4 hours of constant use. The only thing I don't like is they fit around the ears which can get hot after 30 minutes or so.
