The sound quality is also improved over the Beats with a more neutral but still dynamic signature, but only slightly. I also like the fact that these lay down flat.

One of the possible solutions to the issue is by updating the firmware of the headphones (via the Sony Headphones Connect app) for optimum performance. The software update improves the general performance of the unit and includes key features, applications, and bug fixes. For instructions, please visit this link below.

Also, the communication between the devices will be poor if there is an obstruction between the unit and the connected device. Try the follwing:
- Use this headset at least 10 m (30 feet) away from the Wi-Fi device.
- If this headset is used within 10 m (30 feet) of a Wi-Fi device, turn off the Wi-Fi device.
- Use this headset and the Bluetooth device as near to each other as possible.

So I thought I'd give these a try for the plane ride back. They were GREAT!! The noice cancellation was perfect for the plane ride. Plus now I have have some great "over the ear" headphones when I want to immerse myself into some music!

We're sorry to hear that the noise canceling effect is not sufficient. To resolve this issue, make sure that the noise canceling function is turned on and adjust the earpad position to fit your ears. The noise canceling function is effective in low frequency ranges such as airplanes, trains, offices, near air-conditioning, and is not as effective for higher frequencies, such as human voices. The noise cancellation is just ok on these, but pales in comparison to the higher end Sony NC headphones. The sound is exceptional however...so if noice cancellation isn't a big concern...then you'd probably be very happy with this set. I needed noise cancelation for flying.
