I live near a busy Rd and it was horrible trying to sit on my patio and read without distractions and NOW I put these on and listed to my audio books or make calls. It blocks out the sound so good that I only use while I'm in a safe space. The quality is amazing and love the color options. The battery life is great also for those on the run. If your looking for good quality headphones I strongly recommend!!!!

|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I’ve reviewed many earbuds and headphones from different bands in the TIN program over the past few years, and these are the best sounding for the price I’ve reviewed yet. They really sound good from the low end to the high. Clean crisp highs. Not tinny or harsh sounding. Nice deep low end and doesn’t sound muddy. You can set the sound to your tastes with the EQ in the app. The headphones come with USB-A to USB-C charging cable and a 3.5mm cable for direct connection to a device that has a headphone jack. One end is straight and the other a 90 degree angle. Pairing to my Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra was simple and easy. It showed up on the Sony app I already had installed that works with my Sony WF-SP800N earbuds I reviewed a few years ago. Pairing on my 9th Gen iPad with the Sony app went off without any problems. Some people reported that their headphones kept disconnecting and reconnecting. My S22 Ultra did that too at times. Music or calls, it didn’t matter. I know that other bluetooth devices can steal your connection, so I looked for anything else that’s paired with my phone and turned on. I found two things. My aftershocks and my Belkin speaker. I turned them off and no more disconnects. I’m not sure if there’s a bluetooth setting to stop that. I couldn’t find one. I didn’t seem to have that problem with my 9th Gen iPad but I can’t guarantee that you won’t with your iPad or iPhone. I also paired the headphones with a couple of Windows PCs that I have. No problems there either. You can also connect the headphones with the supplied 3.5mm cable and use it with devices with a headphone jack. Either with or without the headphones turned on. When turned on, you can use the active noise reduction and I noticed that it used the same custom EQ settings I had it set to which is a very nice option. The Sony app to control the headphones is very well thought out with lots of options. It can analyze your ear shape to optimize the sound and for the 360 Reality Audio option. You can switch the ANR on and off, and if you want to let ambient sound in, and the level. You can also set them up to automatically do this based on location and / or actions. All good stuff, but my favorite and, what I think is the most useful, is the 5 band EQ with 2 custom settings and Sony’s Clear Bass. I say this because some music apps lack any EQ control. Even presets. For example, I reviewed a pair of Yamaha bluetooth headphones. The app to control them is super basic. Not EQ settings at all. I compare these to them later in the review. Phone calls sound clear for the wearer and the party on the other end. I tried it both ways with my wife wearing the headphones. We both agreed they sound really good for calls.

Best Value Headsets with Noise Cancellation

The set fits well on my head and are comfortable to wear for extended periods. Noise cancellation works well, but upsets my wife sometimes when she tries to talk to me while listening to misic. Frequency response is not as dynamic as more expensive headphones, but it sounds good to me. You can plug the phones directly into your source, which will provide a little better range in the lower frequencies. Sound is crisp and clear so no disappointment there. I don't use the headsets for phone conversations and the speaker on the headset tends to pick up background noises if you are in a noisy environment. The headsets feel wellmade and sturdy. I consider the WH-CH720Ns in the best bang for the buck category snd love the long battery life. Only real issue is that I can not sync with bluetooth on my Samsung Q-90 series Neo QLED smart TV. This may be more of a Samsung issue rathet than Sony's. Several have had issues from the posts I read with some of the Sony headsets. Just be aware if you want to listen to the sound on your smart TV.

My need was a bit specific, but I feel the reasons I chose these are broadly based. The Bose quietcomfort's did not allow noise reduction while plugged into a cord. That killed that set. They had good sound, but I mean c'mon. The Beats were just plain uncomfortable on the top of my head. No padding...and were not recommended by a few folks I talked to. JBL, meh, ok. These Sony 720N are light, comfy, ANR when plugged in, and sound great. My one big complaint, is the battery life. Sometimes it seems to last pretty good, and other times, it's only mere hours (5 or 6) before it's down. I don't understand what's happening, but the life is no where near what's rated. I only use them for one thing, and that's plugged into a drum module. Not sure if that has an impact or not, but having ANR is critical for that. I wish they would add a larger battery, at the expense of more weight, but I also wanted a headset that I could use if traveling, and like the lightweight for that. I haven't tried the battery life with just listening to music/videos without being plugged in, but I'm betting it's way better. At 99 bucks they are going to be hard to beat!

I wish I would of stepped up and got the next level of the sony headphones for the better noise canceling. Doesn't come with a case which is disappointing. Battery life is next level. Im use to having to charge my headphones frequently and this last a long time, hope it stays that way overtime.

We're happy that you like most of the features of your Sony WHCH720N Headphones. Your feedback regarding the noise cancellation performance is extremely important to us and is very much appreciated. The noise canceling function primarily works for noise in the low-frequency band (train, airplane, engine noise). Although noise is reduced, it is not canceled altogether. If the effect of noise canceling is not sufficient, try to adjust the headset into a comfortable position. Check that the Adaptive Sound Control is turned off. When the Adaptive Sound Control is turned on, the noise canceling function may become insufficient.

Primary use is PC/tablet/smartfone access to YouTube videos and music. Environment not noisy - so the next price-point "noise canceling" product not required. Issue with the multi-function on-off switch (used for power on/off, battery status, pairing) - ended up needing the smartphone app to reliably turn headfones off and save battery. One note - issue w smartfone connectivity: also using Dexcom glucose monitoring where historical pairing had not been cleared. Bumped up against the Bluetooth std of pairing limit - after these 100's of Dexcom pairings were deleted, was finally able to pair/connect with smartfone.

If you pay more youll get better quality but considering the price i would say they are high end budget headphones. They are very comfortable and in that regard are better than their price. They are light weight and have good battery. They sound good too but if you have ever owned the more expensive headphones then youll notice the sound quality isnt as good ( but still good for their price range)

Sony WH-CH720N Wireless Headphones

I was contemplating the AirPod Max’s or these headphones and I’m genuinely so glad I went this route instead. The pads are pretty comfortable and I can wear them for hours. And speaking of hours, THEIR BATTERY CAPACITY IS INSANE. I’ve used them pretty regularly over the course of a month and I forgot to recharge them and they lasted so long. I’m very impressed. The noise cancelling feature is easy to turn utilize with turning on and off, and it’s quite simple and quick to connect my headphones to my phone or my laptop or other electronic items. I wish I got them in black instead of blue, but other than that, I’m tremendously satisfied with these headphones.
