Sony is a known brand to me, so they were my go to. Even though this is the base model, they are still fantastic compared to what I was using. Amazing battery life, crisp sound, noise cancelling that filters out ambience but still lets me have a conversation without taking them off, this headset is well worth the money.

A blessing in disguise

At first, I was hesitant to purchase them as I thought this was more appropriate for a much older child or adult, however I am so glad I did. As it turns out, her parents are going through a separation which has been and will continue to be heartbreaking for her and her 5 year old brother. She puts these headphones on at night, in bed, so she can listen to classical, soothing music ( think Yo Ma Ma) in order to relax and fall asleep. This purchase was so much more than just another Xmas gift. It was a healthy coping strategy for a precious child whose whole world is being turned upside down. I am most grateful.

Let me say that I found what i was looking for when I bought these headphones. I cut grass with a zero turn mower and these headphones almost completely cancel that noise of the lawnmower while wearing them. I cut a yard twice because i was so engaged with the sound coming from these headphones. If those other more expensive headphones can offer a better experience than these, I guess I will never know bc these are absolutely perfect for me.

That worked great, and by itself warrants a five-star rating. The overall rating goes down a notch due to comfort. On the red-eye from San Diego to JFK these lost their fifth star somewhere over the Great Plains, or maybe even the Rockies.

It has cancel out a lot of noise so i can only hear my music in peace. The loudness is great and so is the basebost.
