Almost Perfect Headphones!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Sony WHCH720N offers a full package when it comes to noise canceling, Bluetooth, over the ear headphones, and only one small downside stops them from being nearly perfect. On the positive side, these headphones are lightweight, full of useful tech, and sound much better than you might expect. Now what was that downside I was talking about earlier? Well, despite their light weight (or perhaps because of it), the Sony WHCH720N do feel just a little bit cheap when you’re handling them. Everything except for the adjustment sliders is plastic, which is absolutely great for saving weight, it just makes me worry a bit about how much real-world use these headphones can handle. Even though they don’t feel as robust as I might prefer, the sound quality is extremely nice for a pair of wireless noise-canceling headphones. I was pretty amazed at the balance between the bass, mids, and treble, as I expected a very bass-heavy sound signature. While there is plenty of bass, it doesn't drown out anything else; it feels controlled, and not booming or muddy. The treble is also not overpowering, as high notes never felt too piercing or harsh to my ears. Overall, I’d say that while these headphones may not appeal to true audiophiles or be suited for studio work, they sound great for listening to a wide range of music, and enjoying movies, TV, and streaming content. Now having just praised the sound quality, there is something I should note that did surprise me. When I listened to music with a wired connection rather than Bluetooth, the sound quality was considerably worse. I'm really not sure what to make of this, as I thought that using a cable might lead to better performance. Still, when switched over to Bluetooth, the sound becomes more open, clear, and less veiled than with a cable. Since the sound is better on Bluetooth, it's great that these headphones have a long battery life. Even with noise canceling turned on, these are rated for well over a full day's worth of listening time, and I barely saw the battery percentage drop while I tested these for hours. I should also mention that these are very comfortable: I was extremely surprised at how roomy the earcups were on these when I first put them on. I've worn them for 3 hour stretches at a time, but I don't see why you couldn't wear them for even longer. With the soft (and spacious) earcups and the featherweight design, the WHCH720N does not lead to much fatigue throughout the day. I’ve been using this headset with the Sony Headphones app on my iPhone, and it was a bit tricky to get set up, synced, and ready to use. Once you get it going, you're able to easily adjust which device you're linked to (you can link 2 at once), change the noise-canceling or ambient modes, adjust the EQ, turn on DSEE sound enhancement, and some other less useful things. The noise-canceling mode works pretty well, and due to the good seal around the ears, the headphones already naturally cancel out a bit of sound to begin with. I honestly don't have much to compare them to, but they tuned out so much noise at my house that I am definitely using these for my next plane flight. Ambient mode (which has 20 adjustment levels) is great for when I need to hear things that are going on around me. I was not impressed with the EQ on the Sony app (I left it turned off), nor did I think the DSEE feature made any difference at all. Still, your mileage may vary depending on what device you are using, so I suppose it’s nice to have options at your fingertips. What else can I say? Call quality was good, but for important calls, I would still trust using a wired connection with a mic versus this headset. I thought that for Bluetooth headphones, these had very good (loud) volume while listening to music. The buttons on this model are easy to use, and I could actually figure out what my fingers were pressing without having to take the headphones off without much second guessing. The adjustment sliders expand really far, so I think these will fit nearly all head sizes. This model does come with a 3.5mm headphone cable, although it is pretty plain and does not have a mic or control buttons. While the Sony WHCH720N headphones pack a punch in many areas, I was only let down by the all-plastic build that may not be great for long-term use. That being said, if you're looking for a great set of headphones that sound excellent via Bluetooth and also offer noise canceling, the Sony WHCH720N are certainly worth your time!

They are nice.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So far I really like them. They sound great and are pretty comfortable. I do have a few minor issues like the fact that they are just a touch to big on my head even when adjusted so they can fall off easily. But that's a my head problem nothing really to do with the headphones.

Great option
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.First pair of expensive (for me) head phones, sound quality is great, comfortable, easy to hook up to phone. Noise cancel and ambient sounds are distinct when in use. Have not tried the hard wire function yet. Would recommend for sure.

Best Value
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. These are noise-canceling headphones that are cheap and made by Sony. That has been unheard of until now (I believe). Out of the box, I was surprised by how small they were. It is also a different shade of blue than what is on the box. It is still a navy color but a brighter version. Inside the box, you get a USB C cable that is short (nine inches), an aux cable, and your typical paperwork. There is a piece of paper with a QR code on it so you can download the app. The app is probably the most annoying part of the setup process. I agreed to the terms/conditions, allowed the app to use my location, allowed the app to track, allowed the app to use the camera and more. I gave it permissions I would never expect to give to a headphone companion application. After five minutes of setting up my account and going through several prompts the app told me I was on the final step. I found that funny. These headphones can probably be setup via just bluetooth. However, I wanted to give the app a shot. I wanted to see what extra benefits it offers. There was a part of the app where it recommended I scan my ears to add a 360 sound feature. Sounds neat! One ear scanned just fine with my phone's camera. Took only a few seconds. The second ear was having problems being found by the app. It took me about five minutes to scan it. It was frustrating. Then when I finished the scans it asked that I download another one of its supporting apps. The only app I recongized was Tidal. Unfortunately I only use Spotify so I decided to not try this feature out. At this point I just wanted to hear music. I exited the app and started playing some. As it turns out, noise canceling was on at this point. I could somewhat tell the difference. It was indicated in the app. However, I could still hear sounds around me. Noise canceling works better when paired with music. If the music is quiet or paused you can hear the outside world. If your music is above 40% volume noises around you will be reduced or silenced completely. Anything loud, like an airplane's engines will still be heard from these headphones. I was expecting this quality when I got this pair. These do a decent job for the value. Sony is known for their Extra Bass products. These do emphasize the bass a tad. I like that. You can further improve the bass and pick other EQ options in the app. I own another type of bass boosted headphoenes and those are better. However, this particular Sony product is not geared toward that. You can be connected to two different devices at once. You have to turn on the option in the app. On my computer if I open up YouTube and pause Spotify on phone. After a few seconds I will hear the audio from the YouTube video. & vice versa of course. This works a lot quicker than disconnecting and reconnecting in the bluetooth settings. Very cool feature. The connection is stronger compared to my other pair. Every time I walked into the bathroom I would loose connection. The connection stays on for these and I noticed it works at further distances. The headphones are comfortable. I wore them for over five hours one day. I was not sweating. They did not hurt to wear for that long. The cups fold outward. I prefer they fold inward for privacy but that's fine. Better for them to fold, then to not fold. The buttons are fine. There could be more distinction between the volume and pause. Maybe they could be seperated. I would recommend this to a friend. For someone whose environments are not too loud. For someone who does not need that many features. & for someone looking to save some money.

Affordable with Great Noise Cancellation & Sound
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. For the sound quality, functionality, support and efficiency, these headphones are unbeatable. I wish it came with a case, but for the price, I cannot complain. I was able to find a third party case that fits really well. The noise cancellation function is way better than my previous headphone, very comfy and the sound is great as usual coming from Sony. A long lasting Battery and Multipoint connection that allows you to connect two BT devices to the Headphones, and will switch the audio with the source that is streaming the music. Once you stop one it will activate on the other, this feature can be enabled through the “Sony Headphones Connect” app, which is a wonderful tool that will keep you entertained for a while with all the settings, equalizer, 360, firmware updates, etc. My perception is that these headphones were designed to keep a simple concept with high performance, very affordable without sacrificing sound quality, and even improving many other features like the Noise canceling functionality vs its predecessors. Setup is pleasantly simple, mine came with enough Battery charge so I was able to start testing these headphones in “raw” mode, I mean without installing the Sony app, and check the sound without having any sound effect coming from the app settings. I tested with my Samsung Galaxy and Iphone 12, on both I used the same procedure, I went to the BT Setup of the phone, and on the Headphones pressed the Power button that is located on the right side and kept it pressed until the BT blue light started to blink. Then on the Cell phone BT setup the headphones should list as WH-CH720N, and that is all. This set comes with a short USB-C To USB A cable for Batt Charge, a 3.5mm audio cable for wired audio connection, and a reference guide. The Ref Guide is very condensed, however if you go to the QR it will take you to a full detail website with more in depth detail instructions. The sound is great, the bass (one of the things that I pay a lot of attention because that is my first point of check) is powerful, well defined, clean, punchy, hit the lows without any distortion even at high volume. Treble frequencies and vocals are well balanced, pleasant and not exaggerated. I played several songs from pop, rock and classical and the performance was really good, very enjoyable. Phone calls were clear and mic works great. BT Range was surprisingly wide. I went all over my home away from my phone which was BT connected without been disconnected or having any lag. Esthetically speaking they look great, and they are very comfortable. Mine are black matte finish with faux leather at the top of the headband. The ear cups are well padded and accommodate really good over my ear, with the adjustable headband. They are very light (192 grams) and can be worn for hours. Battery Life specs states that will last over 35 hours, which is a lot, I didn’t have the chance to test them that long but I have been playing music for more that 10 hours after a full charge without any sound degradation or disconnects and the Battery indicator in the app still showing more than half charge. Noise Cancellation on these ones is awesome. Very effective and feels isolated of the world while listening your music Easy to use, period. And once you install the app you will find more fun discovering all the additional functionality, it is very intuitive. One of the details that I really like (you can call me an old fashion guy, I still miss the physical buttons on my cell phone) is that these headphones come with physical button instead of touch controls. Right ear has the Volume Control, NC, and Sound Mode. Left ear has the Power/BT, 3.5mm aux in, and USB port for charging. So you can use these headphones wired or wireless, and that is something that I have always loved from Sony, the versatility that their products offer. No longer Voice instructions like other models, only beeps. Multipoint feature can be enabled through the Sony Headphones Connect App as well as the DSEE (Digital Sound Enhancement), that improves the sound, that might loose quality due to the BT compression. Finally I installed the Sony Headphones Connect app, download from my Google play, and in the apple app store. It is a great tool, you can enjoy ambient sound mode, record your activity use time, and setup 360 Reality Audio. For this last step it will show you an audio demonstration on how it would sound with and without the 360 feature. If you choose to have the 360 you will need to get the 360 Reality app as well. I didn’t enable this feature, I prefer to hear the music without any other added feature or enhancement, other than EQ, however I am really pleased with the sound quality that I didn’t need to tweak the treble or bass at all. Obviously Voice assistant can be enabled as well. Noise cancelling settings, firmware update, automatic power off, etc, are some of the settings that you can control through this Sony App. I have to say that this headphones are very easy to use, love the physical buttons back, great sound quality and affordable coming from a very reputable Brand, I am very pleased.

Fantastic "Budget" Over-Ear NC Headphones
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love testing and reviewing headphones. I have previously owned and reviewed 5 different over-the-ear noise cancelling headphones including B&O BEOPLAY, Sennheiser HD1, Sony WH-1000XM4, Sony 1000-XM2...plus Sony in-ear WF-1000XM3, Sony SP600N and non-noise canceling Sony XB-950B1, Sony WH-L600, and Sony WH-XB700. Some of these headphones retailed for upwards of $500. Until now, however, it was hard to get my hands on a pair of "budget conscious" over-ear noise canceling headphones I was willing to recommend. As a broadcast audio technician, I set a high standard for sound when using headphones and listen to sound and music a bit differently than the average user. Consequently, I am very picky when I review any brand/model of headphones or speakers. Clarity, loudness, bass, battery life, etc. are all important but I tend to listen for what is NOT heard in cheaper headphones. The Sony WH-CH720N, first and foremost, has better than average noise canceling and average to above average sound quality out of the box. The headphones are significantly lighter than my more expensive Sony WH-1000XM4 but also lack some of the features of the WH-1000XM4 such as "touch pad" controls, instead utilizing the less expensive and more common "button" controls for volume, skipping, etc. on the right ear cup. These headphones feel a bit more plastic than the more expensive models, but that is a fair trade-off if it brings the price down by more than half. NOISE CANCELING Working at home, listening to music with Noise Canceling turned on, I cannot hear conversations in the other room, nor the television, nor my tapping on the keyboard. Turn the NC OFF and my music becomes "background noise" to everything happening around me. COMFORT AND BUILD These headphones weigh about 2.5oz less than the Sony WH-1000XM4 (more expensive) headphones which makes them lightweight and comfortable. The cups completely surround my ears. Although mostly plastic, the headband is reinforced (likely aluminum) while the cups and pivot points are plastic. BATTERY AND COMPONENTS These headphones are rated at 35 hours of wireless listening with a 10-minute quick charge that will get you an hour of wireless play. You will need to provide the charger as the headphones do NOT come with a charger. Nor is there a bag or case for storing the headphones, something higher-end, more expensive models have included in the past. There is a USB-A to USB-C cable plus an AUX cable should you choose to use the headphones via an AUX port. APP The Sony app will allow you to EQ the headphones and tweak environment/NC settings. SOUND AND MUSIC QUALITY Out of the box the EQ is flat and the sound reflects it. Using the Sony app you can quickly select a pre-configured EQ or tweak your own EQ. I listen to ALT, ALT ROCK, ROCK, CLASSIC ROCK, METAL and HIP HOP primarily. I usually test with Pearl Jam, Twenty-One Pilots, Jimi and 50 Cent with my EQ in a "V" or "U" pattern heavier on bass and treble, and clear bass (activated in the app) set at 4. All 4 genres sound great with deep, punching bass in the alt-rock/hip-hop and tight vocals/guitars with my grunge and classic rock selections. My $400 headphones are just a bit more robust and crisp with vocals but at half the cost, the sound quality of these headphones, once tweaked, is a 9 out of 10. When used for calls, clarity of voice and audio is above average. I highly recommend the Sony - WHCH720N Wireless Noise Canceling Headphones. The only concern I would have is the "plastic" factor for anyone who is rough on headphones--constantly taking them off/on, putting them in a purse or backpack, etc.

Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. These headphones are honestly the best affordable headphones I’ve ever bought. I bought these a few years ago and til this day they have worked like the day I first got them. The best thing about these headphones is that the battery will last you for days. Great sound at a great price point.
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Sony - WHCH720N Wireless Noise Canceling Headphones The Sony WHCH720N headphones are light weight and fully functional. For their price point I don’t think you could get a better set of headphones. The buttons on the earpieces are clearly marked and well thought out. There is a raised dot on the left earpiece as well as one on the volume up button, this makes it a bit easier to find the function you want. Charging is done using a USB-C cable. One is supplied but completely worthless because it is only 9” long, not joking, from end to end it’s 9”. I fail to see the point in supplying these extremely short charging cords. The headphone cord is better at 49” long but is made of a soft rubber that catches on itself at every opportunity. The headphone cable is also audio only, no mic connection. I think this was done because the headphone jack on a phone is a thing of the past for the most part. Noise canceling is very good and with the press of a button you get ambient sound as well, very handy. Using them listening to music at normal levels for 8 hours only pulled the battery down to 80%. This makes them a good option for all day and more use without interruption. The Bluetooth connection worked well out to 40’, this is also very good. There was no carrying case but not really a drawback as you will be using them most of the time. The included instructions are a bit confusing as the box is stated to be made for iPhone but they work well with a PC or Android phone as well. The Sony software is available on Google Play Store for Android. The call quality is excellent with no tinny sound or echo. When a call comes in a press of a button answers the call, and with noise canceling in effect they sound better than the phone pushed to your ear. There seems to be a bit of confusion with Bluetooth connections. Although they do connect to 2 devices at once they get really confused as to what device to work with. I’ve found it’s better to disconnect them from the device not being actively used. This allows the device being used to have full control over the sound quality and volume. This is no doubt a software issue and I expect it to be resolved in the next firmware update. I did update the firmware through the Sony APP but it was not resolved yet. Give it some time and maybe they’ll get it fixed. If this is a deal breaker for you, you may need to look at a higher priced option from Sony. I have 3 other pairs of Sony Bluetooth headphones that do not have this issue. That’s why I think they’ll get it fixed soon. All in all, they are a great pair of noise canceling headphones with plenty of features for a really good price. One final note. They are stated on the website to be black, mine are dark blue. Not a negative at all, I really like the dark blue color.

A great set of budget ANC headphones!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is playing off the iconic Sony's everyone knows that has been around for years and there's a reason for that! Sony knowing this and went ahead and put together a winner of a set of cans here in my opinion. I have quite a few over the ear and in ear headsets with noise cancelling and long story short, is not the best, but for the cost, it's dang near it! The unboxing is super clean and simple. It's flatter and smaller than expected when I got mine in the mail. The reason is because there is not case or tote bag. No the do not fold in, but like the older models, they do lay flat. I went ahead and bought a cheap case. Which leads me to the the included usb c charging cable and 3.5 plug you can use if you still happen to have a device that can use a headphone jack. In order to pair them to your device, you have to of course, download their app, which is really good and has EQ settings and has a few tools to customize your listen level. Also there is an auto ambient setting which I was curious about because based on the app, the headphone/app combo can learn where you are and adjust the ANC or transparency. Of course you can manually swich these settings off and on and turn whichever option you want on a whim, but it was cool that it can do that. I mean most of us will be either using this on a bus or subway. Or even just lounging at home doing house work cleaning and such. The battery is stated for 35 hours from what I recall seeing. That's nuts! I mean these are super light but the build is not cheap fealing either. I know people like to feel heft in quality products, but think of a well made product but with light weight, quality feeling materials. I mean even the ear pads are nicely done. Not too soft, but not too hard either. As for the size of the ear cuffs, it fits my average ear fine, but I can feel my ear lobes hitting the mesh inside at times when putting them on. The first time I turned these on, I went to my personal downloaded music and then when to the streaming services to get a range of differences of what each would sound like. Thankfully, it was not much of a difference. But if you try the Sony 360 sound app with their sample song and video, it is pretty amazing. I was impressed on how these sounded right out of the box. I normally break them in within a day but these didn't really need that much breaking in. It just sounded great with everything I have heard with it so far. Would I recommend it? Heck yes! I got the blue one, which is dark navy, but I think offers in black and maybe white? Check online or at your local BB for that. These have won me over and will be my next travel set for sure!

Simple Design. Good Performance. Great Value.
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Sony WHCH720N Wireless Noise Canceling Headphones are a great budget, over-ear headphones option with great noise-canceling capabilities. With a no-frills design, the headphones look sleek and simple with hardly any branding (which is a big plus in my book). Tactile buttons on the headphones include a power button, volume controls, and a multi-function button on the right ear cup. The multi-function button can be used to play/pause music, answer/end calls, and activate voice assistants from your device (an iPhone 14 Pro in my case). The left ear cup houses the 3.5mm headphone jack and USB-C charging port. The ear cups are pretty comfortable as I had no issues wearing them throughout the entirety of a 3-hour flight. The ear cups do fold flat, making the headphones easy to transport in a backpack or bag. I wish it came with a carrying case, but I guess for the money it's to be expected. While you can connect these headphones via hardwire, most folks, including myself, will likely use Bluetooth. These do come with Bluetooth 5.0, so your connection should be relatively reliable and stable. The headphones feature active noise canceling technology with two modes: one for blocking out ambient noise and one for blocking out wind noise. While the ANC on these headphones is not as effective as some more expensive options, it does a good job of reducing background noise in most situations. The headphones also feature an ambient sound mode, which allows you to hear external sounds while wearing the headphones. This can be useful if you need to be aware of your surroundings while listening to music or taking calls. Battery life on the WHCH720N headphones is excellent. It supposedly can last u to 35 hours, but I have not had to use them continuously for that amount of time. I have charged them a few times just to make sure I had enough power for my day and travels. With that said, they've performed well in terms of battery life and I'm sure they'll get at least 20 hours. In terms of sound, the WHCH720N is a pretty a solid performer for the price. The headphones have a balanced sound profile, with clear highs, mids, and bass. The bass is not as punchy as I would personally like, but it still has a good punch. The headphones also have a good microphone for taking calls. I was able to talk with a friend for a few minutes at the airport and I did not seem to have any issues hearing them and with them hearing what I had to say. Overall, if you are looking for a relatively affordable over-ear headphone with noise cancellation, then the WHCH720N should be a pretty solid option. They look great, feel comfortable on your ears, and do a great job at blocking out the outside world while delivering good sound.

A Lot Of Technology In Headphones
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I never knew there was so much technology they could wrap into a pair of headphones, but Sony is definitely pushing the limits with this set. I've had noise canceling headphones before but nothing really prepared for where the tech has gone. First, the package they come in is very simple and efficient without being flimsy. It's an easy open box with a nice design that lays out to an open presentation. No digging or dumping of the headphones nor the cables. Inside is fairly basic, the headphones of course, and a couple cables. A USB-C charging cable and an audio jack cable. I have anything that has an audio jack anymore, but it can prove useful if you want to use the headphones and run out of battery. The USB-C charger is the expected norm so it's nice to seem continuity. A little quick start pamphlet is also included, but it's not really necessary because everything is pretty evident. The headphones are pretty comfortable, over the ear with an adjustable head strap. All pretty standard and expected. I have a fairly large head and I still have a little bit more room for adjustment if I need it. All the plastic seems to be solidly made and I don't have any of the cracking or stress sounds you often hear with over this style. The buttons are easy to find and use as well. I synched it to my iPhone via Bluetooth without any issues. The headphones told me they were in Pairing Mode and showed up on my phone as an available device. After they connected, the first nicety popped as I was told the utilize an app I didn't have installed and asked me if I wanted to go to the store and install. I did and it installed without issue. Upon opening the Headphones Connect app, it found them and walked me through setting them up. I answered some basic questions and configured it to let it do pretty much whatever it wanted to do. It said it had adaptive noise canceling and would predict what I was doing in an effort to adjust settings dynamically. This was new for me so I let it and decided to test them out. When I put them on, the noise canceling kicked in and did a pretty good job of blocking out ambient noise. That's what I expected so I wasn't too shocked or impressed. I walked outside and started moving around to see what adjustments it would do. It recognized I was walking and continued to filter out the majority of those intrusive sounds. Nice, but I didn't really think it was being tasked too hard with lots of different noises. I decided to really test it and got on the riding lawnmower while listening to an audio book. The narrator was crystal clear as I got onto the mower, but as soon as I started it I couldn't really hear it at all. I went to adjust the volume, but before I could the mower noise started to filter and the audiobook became clearer. By the time I put it in gear, I was able to clearly hear the narrator and barely hear the mower (it didn't mute the mower, but it dampened it enough for me to focus on the voice). That was impressive. I started mowing and checked the app and it had changed to cycling as my activity. I didn't expect it to say mowing, but was happy to see it knew the different between walking and riding. Here's the one glitch or fault I had with the headphones. About 20 minutes into mowing, the noise canceling just turned off all together and I was inundated with the sound of the mower. I couldn't hear the book at all. I opened the app and tried to tell it to adjust or return to previous settings or anything, but couldn't manually override it to the quality that it had automatically adjusted. I was about to write them off as flawed when it re-adjusted and everything went back to glorious silence and an audible narrator. I continued mowing for another 40 minutes without any other interruptions. I'm tempted to give them 5 stars because they sound great, are pretty comfortable (the top of the band is a little uncomfortable on the top of my head), and they do a great job at adaptive noise canceling. However, if the app can drop out and I can't override with the same quality then I have to wait for them to automatically adjust each time instead of starting at a known point. I'm hoping some app upgrades will address that one issue, but I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them exactly as they are to everybody I know.

Light and comfortable
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Review for: Sony - WHCH720N Wireless Noise Canceling Headphones - Black These noise canceling headphones are a pleasure to wear. They are comfortable and lightweight with a nice seal to keep out the world - if you want to. That is, the noise canceling feature works extremely well, but also has an “ambiant sound” setting that allows you to hear what’s going on around you. Great for commuting, this feature lets you catch the train announcements and keeps you aware of your surroundings while walking. The controls are simple to use, with a single power button on the left side and noise control and volume and play/stop on the right. If you download the Sony app (and you should!) you get more precise controls, like an equalizer that you can tailor to your listening preferences, or a slate of equalizer settings for different types of music or voice. You can even even power down the headphones using the app. The headphones allow the use of multiple voice services, including Siri, Alexa, Hey Google, and others. Taking a phone call is easy and works well with the “beam forming mic” that picks up sounds coming from your mouth instead of your entire environment. Remarkably, the headset is rated to last 35 hours on a charge. I haven’t played them that long yet, but after many hours of use, the voice prompt (accessed by touching the power button while on) stills says “battery fully charged!” Quick charging gives you an hour of use after only three minutes! How’s the sound? Really nice! Crisp treble and voice with excellent bass response not possible with other kinds of headsets like earbuds.

Excellent sound and battery life, but short range
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Sound quality is excellent whether the noise canceling is on or off. I tested these out in a hotel room, sitting at the desk next to the AC, and the noise canceling completely eliminated the surrounding noise. I assume performance on a plane is similar. One detail I am happy about is that using noise canceling is comfortable regardless of the setting. I own a pair of headphones from a competitor, and they create uncomfortable pressure on my ears when not flying in a plane. I do not have discomfort with these. Another nice perk is these are extremely comfortable to wear for long periods of time, and the battery life is massive! I have been wearing them for a few hours per night for the past few days and have only dropped the battery by about 10% (with noise canceling turned off for most of that time). The app on the phone has some nice features, including adjusting the Equalizer, adding a bass boost, adding more devices, and updating the software in the headphones. Sadly, there are a few glitches that I am hoping another software update will fix. The headphones are randomly disconnecting from time to time. Sometimes they maintain the connection for hours at a time, and on a few occasions, they dropped the connection multiple times in an hour, as I was sitting at my computer, listening to music. While they can be simultaneously connected to two devices at once, it is not as seamless as I hoped. If I am listening to music on my computer and I get a text or phone call, I do not always hear the alerts in the headphones. It appears that the headphones play whichever device starts playing first and do not always permit interruptions, even when I really wish I had received them. If I stop the audio from one device, the headphones will then allow audio from the other device. In a perfect world, I wish they allowed both simultaneously, but that is probably a big challenge and not always desired. When using them as a headset for phone calls, my friends report excellent sound quality coming from the microphone. There are two cons I am really not happy about. First is that there is no case included. I am terrified to travel with these without a case because I am afraid they will break in my carry-on bag. I have cheaper headphones that come with a case, and if cost is an issue, I would rather pay more and have the case included. Thankfully, cases are being made for these, so I have one on the way. The second major con is the signal range. I listen to music on my computer nonstop while working at home. My apartment is small enough that I can usually wander to any location with Bluetooth headphones and still have signal. The range on these for me is only about 20 feet, line of sight, which is much less than my other headphones. If the signal is weak, these headphones immediately disconnect and will not reconnect until I manually tell my computer to do so. My other headphones have no problem until I am a good 30+ feet away, with multiple walls in between. They also reconnect automatically if the signal is dropped. This might be something they can change in the software as well, so fingers are crossed. Obviously, this is not an issue if people only use these connected to their portable devices or they never have much distance between the headphones and the device. As I said in the beginning, the sound quality is excellent. As an adult, I am really happy with the performance. I get plenty of bass, but I also hear crisp highs without a problem. I have listened to a variety of music genres, and I am satisfied. Based on that, I would recommend these to a friend as long as they do not need a long range ie wearing them while cleaning the house. I remain hopeful that the other problems will be fixed with a software update. Because they have not been fixed yet, I only gave four stars.

Comfort and Quality
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Sony 720N offers superb sound quality with amazing comfort at a price that wont break the bank. The ANC features allow you to drain out unwanted background noise and submerse yourself with a nice Ebook, Podcast, or song. The Sony wireless headphones offer everything you would expect to get from a wireless set up. Easy connectivity can be made through either the app or your techs bluetooth setting. The earcups are extremely comfortable and combined with the long battery life will help keep you in the mix for as long as possible. Speaking of which this headset offers about 48 hours of playlife with ANC off and Claims 35 hours with ANC on. The headphones offer quick charge time capablities, and while i didn't try out all different times what i can say is that on a battery with only 10% life left i charged the headset for 10 minutes and got 50% life back which would equate to roughly 40% in 10 minutes. The frame has a very durable design and flexes with such easy that not once was there any cracking or creaking noises which should help to give you more structural longevity. The built in mic means you can take phone calls or be a part of voice chat without having to grab your phone. Voice quality is very good and while the headset does do a decent job filtering out background noise you need not worry about back ground noise drowning out your voice unless its wind noise. Noise canceling on the Sony WHCH720N is probably some of the best out there. Noise pollution does not completely go away however it becomes so distant that once sound is played through your headset its as if it completely vanishes. Speaking of which sound quality on this headset is phenomal however where it really shines is through the app. The app has so many advance features to enhance your spatial audio or 360 sounds. What i will tell you is that out of the box the sound quality is ok, after downloading the app and adjusting my outputs quality greatly improved. And while some may not pick up on this, but once burn time (or break in) was achieved audio quality improved noticeably. For what this headset offers and the price point in comes in at, this is a easy buy

Review on headphones
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have spent years fighting to find a decent pair of bluetooth headphones since no phone manufacturer wants to make a decent phone with a jack anymore (which is endlessly stupid, but I digress). I have tried everything form fancy expensive Galaxy Buds to a myriad of budget options, and all have the same problems. Flawed connectivity, noticeably glitchy, slightly reduced sound quality. These finally fix it. The inclusion of an option to use a headphone jack on devices that let you is a great feature. Along with multipoint connect. They fit perfectly around my skinny neck (your mileage may very on that), so travel with them is a breeze. And for the sound quality, these are absolutely the best headphones for your money. I was loathe to go to overears full time because I like being able to take one out to hear my surroundings, and every noise passthrough I used before was sucky. (usually the outside noise obnoxiously trebley). Not with these. I actually go to concerts to listen with my headphones on because it actually makes the concerts sound better than with no headphones. Extremely convincing, near perfect noise passthrough. The app is easy to use and has a great selection of features: from custom EQs, to adjusting the noise pass through, to other various quality of life settings. The 3D adaptive sound feature is great, though a little tricky to set up at first, and noise cancellation is very good, though not the best in the world. The battery life is also almost unbelievable. I use these headphones a lot--sometimes all day--and I still only have to charge them once or twice a week. Multipoint connection is also a very nice plus if, say, I am working at my computer and still want to be able to answer phone calls hands-free.

Amazing Noise Canceling for Noisy Neighbors
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. These headphones are incredible! I got them while they were on sale for $120, and they were so worth the money. I had new neighbors move in, and they were so loud at night and during the day (I telework most days) and I was becoming miserable because they made focusing on work hard and at night were messing with my sleep schedule. I tried lots of things to resolve the issue (my air pods, white noise okay night, silicone ear plugs, etc.), but nothing seemed to help, either it would help with higher frequency sounds like their voices, or it would help with lower sounds like the bass of their TV/speaker, but not both. I got these headphones as a last resort, and they are amazing! They were being super loud the other day, I put these on, turned on ANC, and couldn’t hear them at all. Even without playing music! My roommates also have Fridays off (I unfortunately don’t), and sometimes could be distracting from work even with my door closed, I wore these one Friday morning and didn’t even realize they were both awake and in the kitchen (with my bedroom door wide open) till I took the headphones off! Absolutely amazing! Now the downsides/reason for 4 out of 5 stars? For one, the bass on these is super boosted (granted that’s in the name), however you can adjust that in the app so that’s not much of an issue honestly. The real downside is these are a tad large/better for larger heads, they’re not the comfiest (they can kinda hurt the top of your head over time, but I find I can fix this if I put a scrunchy or something cushiony on my head under the part that rests on the top of my head), and they’re also kinda ugly (honestly might just be my opinion, they’re def not as cute as the Apple ones or Bose ones). However I don’t plan to wear them out, so honestly all those things I don’t mind, it would just be things to be aware of! Also probably not the best for the gym if you have a small head, they’d probably fall off with certain movements. Additionally the microphone is actually very good, as long as you have ANC activated, otherwise I have been told it sounds like someone is crinkling a wrapper constantly in the background. But overall, if you are dealing with loud neighbors, telework in a noisy situation, etc. these are amazing (just maybe wait for them to go back on sale again)!
