Good quality for tv sound. I haven't tried them strictly for music. Works when going into other rooms and outside if not far.Seems to hold charge for a few hours of tv watching. Having cut out on me yet.

    Works OK, but...

I bought these to use with a small guitar amplifier so I'd only have one cord dangling from me when practicing in my hotel room. However, it seems that even the lowest power the amp can deliver distorts the input of the base station, thus delivering a crackling hiss when playing. I tried the headphones with my laptop and if I drop the volume to about 50% the distortion is lowered to acceptable levels, although still somewhat there. So for my intended use, the base station needs an input level control the noise. All in all, disappointed.

RF connection will cause static / cackling noise

    Posted .

Set up is easy and headphones are comfortable, however, the audio quality is terrible. Because these transmit via radio frequency, not bluetooth, the connection can easily be disrupted but other devices. For this, you'll hear crackling, static noise, which is exactly what I'm hearing with these headphones. I've tried moving the base, adjusting the cables, playing around with different volume levels on my TV and headphones, but I can't get rid of the static noise. From a Sony moderator on a community post on this same topic: "The reception may cause interference and sound quality may be affected if you are using these in an area with many electrical appliances capable of generating electromagnetic fields" Considering we live in 2021 and most of us have multiple devices in our homes (TVs & computer screens can generate electromagnetic fields), I think this is a large flaw in the product. Unfortunately, I bought this as a Christmas gift and the box has been thrown away so now I'm stuck with these headphones. TLDR: Avoid this product, stick with bluetooth headphones

Sound is bad - no depth at all

I cannot stress how much these suck. Sony should be ashamed of the sound quality and I'm not even an audiophile. The sound has no depth whatsoever and just comes across tinny. I thought maybe it was just me being finicky, but I had my 70yo mother try them when she came over and she instantly said "wow these sound awful, there's no depth to it." The volume level is crazy - there's a tiny spot between off and comfortable listening then the rest of the dial is damage-your-hearing loud. These actually do fit over your ears which is comfortable at first, but I quickly noticed that the ear cups aren't deep enough so the inner part just barely touches your ear. It sounds nitpicky but the feeling is so annoying and is actually worse than having them just sit on your ears. I was looking to replace an old pair of Rocketfish RF headphones just because they're over 10 years old and kinda bulky, but even they blow these out of the water. The good: they have a quality feel, easy to set up, super loud for the hard of hearing

    Best buy lied to me

I ordered the "Excellent Condition" model, which clearly states in their description that it should have the charger, but it absolutely DOES NOT contain the charger. Which also happens to be a niche Exclusively Sony Branded charger. So now I have this completely useless headset.| Also, this is marketed as "Over the ear". This is NOT over ear. This is basically on ear, unless you have the ears of a child. So even if I got the charger, now I have some horribly not comfy headphones that were completely mislabeled as the wrong type. I'm gonna go for some Seinheisser headphones now.

Couldn't get them hooked up to the TV. The sales associate recommended these but he must have just been trying to make a sale cause I had to return them. So I can't really review them since they didn't work with the TV I bought'
