Personally, i thought they sound pretty close to the flagship Sony headphones, although the noise cancelling isn't as good.

They made having a middle set for 9 hours tolerable. Good noise suppression and the sound was good. I'm typically not a fan of boosted bass, but these surprised me with their sound quality. One note if you are on a flight with these. Remember to bring the included wired cord to use with the airplane's entertainment system instead of the crappy earbuds from the airline.

If you haven’t already, download the Sony | Headphones Connect App which gives you the ability to adjust audio levels and sound field modes according to your preferences. You may also find different devices will perform better than others, as will different apps due to different types of audio compression and transmission.
