I received these for review and out of the box they were just like any other head phones. The sound is good and probably great. I say probably because I've changed the ear price and they don't seem to fit me very well. They also let environmental sound pass through. Not sure if that's intentional or not. The battery life is great as I work a nine hour shift and never had to recharge them. Sony from what I've reviewed in the past has finally added a rubber"spring" to help the ear buds stay in. The problem is they go in the ear canal with the buds. They felt weird the entire time I wore them. I normally like Sony product as I've purchased a Sony 4k, ps4pro, and sound bar from best buy that I enjoy very much. These headphones were a let done.

These headphones are lightweight and comfortable to wear. I like that they still allow users to hear ambient sound due to the open-type drivers which make them great for outdoor use. Bottom line, I'd recommend these because they are durable, have the battery life to meet my needs and the sound is great. I have to admit that they accidentally went through the washer and dryer and survived; worked good as new. I can't say that for other headphones I've used. Thanks Sony!

the sound of these Sony - WI-SP500 Wireless In-Ear Headphones are really good. The bass was good but the volume wasn't very loud even at max volume. (I like my music loud). I don't mind that it isn't complete noise canceling because I walk my dog on a trail where I need to hear people, bikes and other dogs approaching from behind while I listen to music. The thing i don't like is the design. the stem that hangs down out of your ear seems to weigh the buds down and pull them out of my ear. I understand thats where the function controls and microphone are but I had a pair of Plantronics Bluetooth head phones where the buds fit completely in the ear and the controls were on the cord that went behind your neck so no stem hanging down from your ears. unfortunately my dog got hold of those. These Sony's are an ok replacements and once I get used to that stem hanging down they will be fine

Summary: The main use I’ve given to it has been at work (an open space noisy/distracting environment) and it has effectively replaced my Plantronics over the ear headphones to keep me concentrated at my duties while listening to music/presentations. Initially they are very uncomfortable to wear, took some time to get used to, but now I can wear them for hours. Second use I have for this is at the gym and some outdoors exercise, which has been great so far. Ultra-portable, the wireless feature makes yourself “free”. This feels like a 5-star device, while sometimes I though it to be a 3-star, I am giving it a 5 for now. Positive: Good surround feeling, very crisp sound and good bass. I am not an audiophile; nevertheless, I own several headphones wireless/corded, cheap/expensive, and this is the first in-ear wireless I’ve got. I am not disappointed about its sound quality. For example, when compared with other Skull Candy in-ear corded headphones I have, although more points for comfortability to the Skull Candy ones, in terms of sound quality this one seems to be at par or even better (can hear the subtle sounds in some Pink Floyd or classic music for example). Very good range Bluetooth, more than 30 mts to/back the bathroom at work away from my computer (nice!, well I guess the laptop signal also plays a role here, anyways happy with this). Since most of my day is at work, I use it mostly with my laptop and less frequently with my phone (at gym). Mobility is the best thing about these earphones, well for any wireless one I guess. I initially thought they were kind of big, but comparing to other ones I see around (now that I am into the in-ear wireless train I pay attention to people wearing them), it seems as compact as they can be. So, I’d say a positive for its decent size. Battery life seems great. So far I’ve gotten more than 7 hours of continuing use (well about 5 hours at work and 2 at home) until I heard the message for recharging the device and stops working. I still need to track effectively how long they last. After wearing them for a while and getting over the painful initial insert-device-in-your-ears process, I can last several hours wearing them. When comparing to my wireless Plantronics Headphone with Active Noise Cancellation, which was deemed to be really comfortable to wear as its price tag suggested, I could only last a couple of hours with the Plantronics Headset, with this one several hours now. Price-wise, it makes sense to move to this Sony SP500 from other more expensive wireless devices. Noise cancellation may be a little issue, but it is something I could live (just play the music louder). Neutral: Perhaps even a negative, but I am not sure about how long it takes to charge it to full, there is no clear indication. I plugged it in and the red light was on until an hour or so later it went off, I assumed it was fully charged. Upon trying to recharge it again, the red light came in again until several minutes later. I wished that there was a voice message that said fully-charged/battery-high/battery-low etc., similar to my more expensive Plantronics wireless over the ear headphones. Only two messages so far are for when it gets connected and when it is about to have no battery left. I am not sure about the price, I’d figure if they’d go for $60 then these would be the greatest earphones ever. Price doesn’t seem too unreasonable, but with a few things added, such as battery indication, it’d make it worth every penny. Negative: Somehow hard to get used to, the buds feel big and hurt your ears. Of course, they can be worn without introducing them too much into your ears, but then more outside noise that gets in (did that initially). To be fair, the more I wear them the more I am getting used to them, I just wished the process to be smoother. Softer and perhaps higher quality materials would be great to have. A minor nuisance I had one time was with the wire connecting the pair of earphones getting trapped in my clothes around my neck, when wearing multiple layers of clothes. So I guess the recommendation would be to use it with light clothes?

Sony has done a great job with these wireless headphones. The Wi-SP500 are a great headphone for the money. Compared to higher priced beats and bose models the sony's put out comparable sound quality. They lasted a little over 7 hours my first charge and use, never had a drop in connection or sound while washing my car and working out. The headphones are a little odd to put in at first, but they fit snug and comfortably and never felt like they were going to fall out. The packaging and accessories are bare on this model, but it can be expected for $79. I honestly love the look and feel of these headphones, they don't feel cheap, they feel and look solid and are lightweight. I feel like sony really hit a homerun with these headphones. For the price and sound quality they can't be beat. I highly recommend.

These head phones are pretty straight forward. Right out of the box they are easy to set up and pair with your phone. I love that they are light weight, this is a bonus for working out. The sound quality is not bad at all. My only complaint about them is that they are oddly shaped. They fit in my ears but not as well as some other headphones do. For the price they are definitely worth it if you are looking for a good pair of wireless headphones for working out.

I've had a chance to use these Sony earphones for about two or three weeks now and they get the job done. Based on their price point one should go into buying these knowing there are not a lot of bells and whistles to these. They synced up with both my iPhone and iPad with no problems and they never lost their connection. The overall sound quality is above average for this price point and the battery lasted me through about nine hours of continuous music streaming. The fit in the ear is a bit loose for me but I do have a larger ear canal so your mileage may vary. If you want a pair of earphones to use at the gym or while jogging then these will serve you well.

These headphones were super easy to set up and use; I just held against the back of my Google Pixel and it paired itself and was ready to go. These are way lighter than my over-the-head sports headphones, so they don't get annoying after a long run. It doesn't have noise cancelling, but they seal in the ear pretty well so they're pretty good at suppressing outside noise, and the music quality is really good. I like the fact that they're water-proof and have really good battery life. I tried it out on phone calls, but the callers say I sound like I'm far away. I'm not sure how much background noise these would pick up while on calls, but the call quality certainly isn't the best. It's better than nothing though. I wouldn't use these as your primary phone headset. For battery life, sound quality, water-proof, comfort, I'd say this is a great value at this price.

The Good: 1. Battery life 2. Sound quality matches the MSRP price of the head phones 3. Voice activated to notify if head phones are connected The Bad: 1. Bulky design and not appealing 2. Not easy to wear or bad fitting (even after switching out the ear cushions (were only 2 sizes to choose from)) 3. Comfort is also lacking (my ear started hurting or straining after 30 minutes of wearing the head phones) I expected more but if budget is an issue then get buy these until you can afford more quality head phones.

The design of these headphones intrigued me, with the battery and controls right on the earbuds as compared to in-wire location of most other models. The look is definitely different, but the controls are very light and when wearing these I didn't notice and difference in the "hang" and fit compared to other designs. After getting used to them, the controls are actually easier to locate and use, since they are right at the ear and no fumbling around to locate the controls like the in-wire models. I actually started to prefer using these earbuds for that particular reason. Being Sony, the sound is nice, and these are designed to let ambient sound come through during walks, runs, and work-outs. A couple of parting thoughts... if you wear earbuds at night (overnight) you will feel the earbud/control with your head on the pillow. Otherwise, this is a good set of earbuds with excellent battery life and good sound.

Received them as part of the Insider experience and I love Sony products. Easy to pair with NFC since I've had hit and miss with Bluetooth taking forever. Unfortunately I wasn't able to use them because any active movement besides just walking caused them to fall out of my ears, with both sets of tips. Other wise great sound and a neat backup pair to my jaybird run wireless buds

I really enjoy these in-ear headphones however not keen on the long shape in the ear. Set up was quite easy out of the box. The sound quality is wonderful and I am able to hear outside sounds which is a good thing especially if you are wearing them on a walk. They stay in place even when I am on the treadmill and go into a run and i like that they aren't heavy and the cord goes behind your head. Battery life and sound quality on phone calls seem to be good. Great find for the price!

As a runner, the most important features of fitness headphones is their ability to remain in place in my ear, battery life, and sound quality. These succeeded in all categories. In my search for the perfect headphones, I have found a Bose set that fits nicely and has excellent sound quality, the battery life doesn’t hold as well as these so my search continued until now. Some previous reviews have complained about the ear buds not fitting comfortably or falling out. I usually have difficulty finding ones that do fit and these not only fit comfortable, they didn’t fall out over several 5-10 mile runs. Battery life is as advertised. I have gone about 10 hours of use and have recharged once at about 7.5 hours. More than enough for running any distance. Sony has always had great sound quality and these are no exception. Highs and lows are clear and have nice deep base. As for noise cancellation, this doesn’t have it. This is a great thing if running on the road or isolated trail. If that’s what you’re looking for, these won’t be for you. My only complaint is the bluetooth signal would get sketchy after about 30 minutes of use when my phone is in my pocket. It doesn’t happen when already on my arm and it goes away when I relocated my phone from my pocket to my arm. It may have been some other interference but I have not otherwise had the opportunity to test it in a new location.

First let me say that the WI-SP500 offers great sound. Frequency response is great, the sound is clear and volume gets decently loud. I must have correctly shaped ears because the pre-installed tips fit very well for my ears. The tips are very pliable and they settled themselves into the right position in 30 seconds. The earbuds feel secure in my ears and I don't have any feeling like they will fall out. The earbuds are comfortable enough for several hours of use. The WI-SP500 does not feature noise cancellation, which is good for when I need to hear my surroundings. The WI-SP500 lacks time remaining announcement. My cheap Plantronics M25 announces hours remaining upon power up, and my premium Bose headphones announce charge remaining in percentages upon power up. These do not announce anything, which is disappointing. Controls are rather awkward. Power on/off and call answer are done through the button that is on the bottom end of the long pill shape of these earbuds. Because of this, I have to use my thumb and forefinger to "pinch" the long pill shape to turn it on/off or to accept a call. The pressure needed to activate this button seems excessive. Other Bluetooth headsets use the outside face as the button. This makes it easy and quick to find the button and use it with one finger. On this Sony headset, you have to expend more time and effort to answer calls. Controls are only on the right hand earbud, which is unfortunate because I'm left handed and I seem to be left ear dominant. When I only want to have one earbud in, it has to be the right handed one which is not my preference. Because there is only a wire connecting the earbuds, all the weight is at the earbuds. This means that if I'm wearing one earbud, the other earbud pulls the slack which causes me to pull the wire occasionally when I turn my head. The charging port is under a cap on the top side of the right hand earbud (opposite of the on/off and call answer button). The cap is tethered to the earbud so you don't lose it. In my opinion, this tether should be about a millimeter longer so the cap can stay out of the way of the charging port. Included with the box is a storage loop which holds the two earbuds together. I think this was poorly thought out. When not in use, you can have it clipped to the wire which can get in the way or get knocked off. Or you can leave it attached to the left earbud. If you leave it on the right earbud, it gets in the way of the controls. More likely, I'll probably leave the storage loop at home (aka, I'll lose it). I wanted these earbuds as a replacement for my old Plantronics M25 headset. But to me, these lack features that would make them a serious replacement. Therefore, these will be considered as my backup headset.

I have had the earphones for a week and so far I'm impressed with everything these wireless headphones have to offer. They were easy to pair with my phone and it took just a matter of seconds to get up and running. There are only two buttons on one of the headphones and it took a minute to figure out how to control the volume and skip a track but since then it has been smooth sailing. I like how the headphones don’t plug into your ear and shut you off from what’s going on around you. You can still hear your surroundings but you can make the volume loud enough so noise from your surroundings don’t drowned out what your listening too. Sound quality is excellent and very clear for the size and the fit in my ear is comfortable. They even come with two sizes of earpieces to help ensure a better fit. They aren’t too heavy and I found them to stay in my ear quite well. Battery life is also good and I’m getting over 7 hours of life per charge. That’s close to the advertised 8 hours and I’m sure volume plays a role in that so I can’t complain since I like the volume a little louder.

These headphones are awesome! I was afraid I wasn’t going to like the wire, as I used these for a cardio session, I found myself forgetting it was there. Plus, no worry about one falling out and losing it, or worse, it breaking. They fit fairly comfortably, and they didn’t start sliding out, like other ear buds I’ve used in the past. Pairing was super easy. Make sure to charge them up when you first open them. Mine had a about a 70% charge on them when I first paired them. The battery life is pretty good. I was able to get about 8 solid hours before the gauge approached 15% battery left. To get the best sound, you have to move the earbuds in place, until you get a good hit of bass. First time I used them, I had them angled wrong and thought there was a lack of bass. Once I positioned correctly, the clear highs, mids, and lows were very satisfying! Call quality with an iPhone X was clear and everyone I spoke with said my voice was super clear. These are an easy recommendation. Provide quality sound, without the steep price. Buy these!

These are a great option if you're looking for affordable wireless headphones. They're definitely not the best in the market but they're perfect for the average active user. So far working out with them, I haven't had any issues with them staying in or being uncomfortable moving around. The sound is perfect. The volume is a good range from low to high and the battery life is really good. I believe my first use they lasted around 10 hours or so. I think they're advertised to last 8. They charge fast and are easy to charge. Overall, excellent choice!
