I generally keep my tv vol. at 1 and just use the vol. controls on the headphones. When wearing these for a long time my ears get warm like if i had ear muffs on. If there was a battery display on the transmitter showing showing the remaining usage time then i probably wouldn't have to hear any static. But i keep it charged so it's not a big deal
