I purchased this headphone to replace the previous model which I used for about 7 years. The older unit still worked but the earpads had become worn and I discovered that I was unable to obtain replacement parts. Then, finally, the left earphone became inoperative. I purchased this newer model MDRRF985RK as it seemed to be the logical replacement. Upon installation, however, I found that the transmitter did not work at all. I exchanged it and the replacement unit worked fine. I do find the new headphones to be less comfortable to wear than the previous model. I have also found that, compared to the previous model, this model seems much more prone to bursts of static when moving around the house. (It is on the same TV set and in the same exact location as the old unit). The sound quality is generally quite good. Overall, however, I don't feel that these newer models possess the the quality and reliability found in previous models. In future, I would strongly consider paying a higher price, perhaps to a different manufacturer, to try to obtain higher quality and reliability.

I bought two of these headphones so me and my dad could listen to TV at a higher volume while mom was in the room. They are perfect and the sound is incredible! Multiple headphones can be used at the same time. Highly recommend these!

Works great and doesn't disturb the ball and chain when in use. Comfortable to wear. Sometimes there is static when my laptop is nearby and on, but otherwise, no complaints.

I bought this for my grandma who is losing hearing in one ear. She loves it. She gets up and walks to the kitchen and does cleaning around the house with them on. My grandpa loves it too because he can listen at a normal sound level and she is able to wear the headphones. Before passing them along to my grandparents I tried using it for a day and loved it. I though the product was great and easy to use (thankfully for my grandparents are not techies).

Good bass, comfortable to wear for hours, great battery life (Sony says up to 24 hours, but haven't worn them that long yet. I've gone several hours at a time though).

The sound quality and volume are very good. The sound bleed is very little. I would buy these again.

Good for people whose hearing isn't great. My Dad used to listen to the television really loud, now he uses these headphones and we can keep the volume at a normal level while he can adjust the headphones as high as he wants. Didn't give 5 stars as a few times they won't come on, but if we unplug them and then plug back in they work fine...very odd.

mom is hard of hearing and now uses it for all tv and she can understand the shows now.

Headphones are wonderful! Not only do they allow me to control the volume (without blasting everyone else out of the room) the sound is much clearer and easier to understand. Would definitely recommend for anyone with a hearing problem.

I bought these headphones for my son after his other pair (not the same brand) stopped working after three months. He loves them! He says the sound is great and they're comfortable to wear!

This is a replacement for another brand unit that continuously cut out. The Sony headset does not have that problem and the audio is exceptional. This is a very comfortable headset to use and I am enjoying it immensely.

I bought these to replace a different brand that broke. These are lighter weight and a whole lot more comfortable. The sound quality is great and the plug & play was very easy to set up.

When one person wants or needs a higher volume, and others want less volume, this is the way to go! Good sound and comfortable to wear.
