I later purchase the speakers and I can say that these speakers make a huge difference. They really elevate the experience of listening to music and watching tv. The sound bar are subwoofer are great on their own but the speakers take it to the next level!

Not absolutely necessary but do make a big difference. The price is what made me give 4 stars instead of 5, not the sound they add to the system. The only thing i wish they did have was a detatchable power cord so i can run them through my speaker stands.
