Yes, yes and yes! If you are asking yourself, “should I get these to go with my new Sony HTZ9F soundbar and subwoofer system”, the answer is “YES”. Do you “need” them, no, the soundbar and subwoofer sound great without them however by adding these speakers your Sony soundbar system instantly gets upgraded from a 3.1 channel system to a 5.1 channel system and you can absolutely tell the difference. You can now hear sounds from behind you.. a squeaky door is opening, footsteps are approaching from behind, explosions are now all around you.. You get it all by adding these speakers! The Sony Z9R wireless speakers truly are wireless in that they don’t have any speaker wires to connect to a receiver unit like many other “wireless” rear speakers on the market. This is so great since you no longer have to find a place to hide that receiver unit because they don’t have one. The receivers are built into each speaker individually. The speakers came nicely packaged and were very easy to set up, really, you just plug each speaker into an outlet and presto! The soundbar pairs to them within seconds without you needing to press any buttons or anything extra. Something nice to note is that with your Sony HTZ9F soundbar remote you can control the sound volume of the rear speakers separately. I keep the volume on mine on the max setting all the time but being able to control this is a great feature. I encourage anyone with the extra funds to purchase these rear speakers to accompany their Sony HTZ9F soundbar system, you will not be disappointed!

The speakers are a bit fuzzy and do not always stay connected to the sound bar and subwoofer but when it does work it works really well

Rear speakers I returned my rear wireless speakers and sound bar because I had a hard time with the moments of the mouth and the speakers having a delay since they were wireless so I didn’t like it.

You have to have these surround sound speakers with the sound bar

These speakers were easy to set up and install but they provide an enlarged sense of ambience, not true surround sound. There are options for volume and sense of depth.

This product was not what I expected. I was super excited about it but to only find out that the rear speakers tone in and out with my Sony HTZ-9F soundbar. In addition also I am finding out that my Sony HTZ-9F has been going in and out with audio therefore I am not happy with either Sony products that provide me sound. In regards for television I have also loved Sony but sound is just not their strength. Please stay away.

These are unexceptional surround speakers. It doesn't help they can only be used with appropriate Sony soundbars.

excellent add on rear speakers for HT-Z9F soundbar

Although I liked these speakers when I first got them I have since bought a Bose system that has much better sound. It did cost twice as much though.

Let me start with, this is not just for the Rear speakers this is for the entire system. I really don't know if it is operator error (I hope so) but for any price, much less the $1,000 total for the system, This is a no buy. Everything was fine for a few months after I got it up and running, not the easiest thing I've done. I've alway bought Sony and was excited to upgrade to 4K TV and the best sounding sound bar in the store. A few month in I was experiencing the Sub drop off, and also the entire volume drop from time to time. I read several internet post with solutions and one finally Simi-worked. There is no excuse for this much trouble from a total Sony set up...Sony 4K TV, Sony Sound Bar, Sony 4K BD. So operator error aside, a total Sony system at this price should be able to talk to itself, and just work. If anyone cares it may be issues with my Ring devices interfering with the set up, witch at that point would be an Android issue not Sony...but dang don't need the hassle!

Bought these used from the website and I think I know why they were used. Once I added these to the Sony HTZ9F Soundbar, I started having issues with keeping a good connection with the subwoofer. The speakers and the subwoofer sound would cut out way too often. Toggling the RF channel would only temporarily fix the issue. Sounds good when it works. Expected more for the price.
