A must add on for the HTZ9F

As I stated in my review of the HTZ9F sound bar, these rear speakers are terrific. I've had other satellite speakers before on a home theater in a box system that barely produced any sound to the rears.
The setup could not have been easier. Find the best spot for them and plug them in, that's it! They link automatically to the sound bar and have never lost connection. They are wall mountable but I am not looking to add power outlets for them so I have them on shelves behind my sofa.
I tested them out and watched the new Avengers movie and then The Last Jedi and was amazed by the sound that I heard and felt all around me. These speakers really make a huge different and are amust add-on!
When you get close to them and hear the sounds coming out of them, you don't really appreciate what they do. You have to sit down, watch a movie and just let everything work together.
I am looking forward to the Apple TV adding Dolby Atmos later this year to experience how that sounds.
Could not be happier with these speakers.

I bought a set of these speakers and the sound kept skipping so I returned them and got another set which did the same thing, after so many attempts to make it work. I stumbled on a setting that turns off the protective frequency of the signal and that worked even though that goes against the setting of protecting the wireless signal. It works when it wants to but not the way it sounds at the Best Buy store. For $300 plus this product is not worth a penny!!!!

Like the soundbar system these speakers are made for (Sony - 3.1 Ch Hi-Res Sound Bar with Wireless Subwoofer - Model: HTZ9F), their compact size allows them to be setup in a room without taking up much space. Even though the speakers are on the smaller end, they produce quality sound. They are not cheap speakers. I cranked them up to near max and I didn't experience any distortion. I'm sure if you crank them up to the max, they will distort like any other speaker. Otherwise, they do a real good job completing the surround sound system. They sync easily with the main unit, and I didn't experience any drop-in signal/sound.
The only downside is the power cables. Each unit doesn't rely on speaker wire like most speaker setups. Instead, you simply plug in a standard power cord that runs out of the back of the speaker and into an outlet. This works fine when I place the speakers on my side tables near my couch, but when I tried to screw them into my speaker stands, the power cord couldn't be run down the center of the stand's pole like the speaker wire can. The benefit of running the cable down the center of the pole is for clean wire management. However, if this is not a concern, these speakers are perfect.

Sony has yet to resolve the signal interference issue. I had these paired with the HTZ9F and it cost me my subwoofer signal as well.
Over all would say that this was a nice idea, and that I wish it would have worked. But in the end, I upgraded to the. HT-ST5000 and haven’t thought about these since.
Enjoy this HTZ9F with out these add ins and you’ll be just fine.

Not very satisfied with this product. The speakers continue to lose connection and results in an annoying in and out sound experience. What is really concerning is that my wireless speakers have a direct line of sight to the sound bar. I truly wish there was an alternative to rear speakers like a wired one.

Purchased the soundbar and knew the rear speakers would be next. The sound quality seemed fine in beginning, but now it is non-existent. I agree with many others that the max volume of 12 seems old, especially with no increase in the volume.

These Sony wireless rear speakers pair easily and quickly with the Sony soundbar.and wireless woofer. A great value for the price.
They sound great, very clear, and we can finally hear all of the diaglog from the T.V. shows we watch, but they could be a little louder for a larger room but are more than fine for the questroom we have them in. We only rated them 4 stars instead of 5 stars because these rear wireless speakers require repairing everytime the power goes out, but as aforementioned, they pair up quickly and easily.

As far as I know these speakers pair only with Sonys HT-Z9F soundbar. As such I also included them in my review of the that soundbar.
This review is for the Sony wireless SA-Z9R rear speakers.
In the optional SA-Z9Rwireless speakers box;
2 wireless speakers
Assorted instruction/guides
Pros;
Rear speakers are somewhat small as most back speakers are - but have good heft to them as well. Power and information indicators are around back (same light info as sub-woofer), power button, a link button, a wall mounting hole and another hole if attaching to a speaker stand. They paired as soon as I plugged them in and I have had no “drop outs” of sound/signal. They can be turned up/down from remote with more tuning options thru Home menu. They have plenty of power and really completed the sound experience.
Cons;
None really but be aware these must be plugged into a power source – so you will need an outlet close by.
If you purchase the soundbar – DO plan on getting these wireless back speakers as they really make a difference and truly complete the sound experience!

I turned on a few movies after I hooked these up and was wowed at the sound quality of (1) the whole system, and (2) especially the difference compare to the sound without the rear speakers. These speakers paired with the main sound bar without ANY effort, though that makes me worry a little about what if there was more than one of these set-ups in a house could you be guaranteed which would be pair with which, but for my purposes this is a non issue. Truly gives the home theater experience in terms of sound quality.

These speakers take the HT-Z9F to its full potential. They add true surround to a great soundbar. The are not too large and can be placed on a side table or mounted to a wall or ceiling. Setup is easy, just the touch of a button. One coupled with the soundbar you can set the rear speaker options in the speaker menu.
As a wireless speakers, you will need an outlet for each one and that is the only limiting feature.They sound great coupled with the Sony Vertical mode helping in sound immersion.

These speakers complimented the sound bar perfectly and made a huge difference in my movie watching experience. They were easy to set up and just the right size to hang on the wall. The only down side is that each speaker is required to plug into an outlet so it is important that an outlet is near where you plan to use these. The plugs are a decent length but hiding them for a clean look will be tricky. The sound was clear and these a must buy to complete the 5.1 surround sound experience.

My last surround sound was just that. Surround. This set up, the sound comes from the sound bar under The TV. The only sound that comes out if back speakers is music No voice at all. This set up is horrible

A Must Have for Sony's HTZ9F Sound Bar System

I recently purchased a new Sony 4K TV and really wanted to upgrade my external sound bar system to take full advantage of the new purchase. The Sony HTZ9F 3.1 Channel Sound Bar with Wireless Sub Woofer is the perfect solution. But if you want to step up the 3.1 system to a 5.1 system I would highly recommend adding the SAZ9R wireless rear channels speakers (optional) to the system.
Similar to the sub woofer, the SAZ9R rear channel speakers automatically pair with the soundbar once they are both powered on. Within minutes, the system was up and running...and man the difference was so noticeable. My Xfinity remote supports the Sony systems, so the remote controls TV and audio no problem. You still need to use the included Sony remote to set up other functions and sound settings. The soundbar and sub woofer sounded great on their own, but adding the rear channels really amps up the full immersion effect. Once I played around with the placement, the overall surround effect was absolutely incredible!
Pros:
- Easy set up - Self connecting Rear Channel Speakers
- Modern design and looks and plenty of power at 50W
- Full 5.1 immersion
- Wall mountable option
Cons:
- Currently only supports the Sony HTZ9F soundbar/sub woofer system
- Wireless is great, but still need to deal with power cords
Overall I would recommend to anyone who purchased or is considering purchasing the HTZ9F to also spring for these great wireless rear channel speakers.

Connection is terrible. Took hours of messing with settings to get them to stop cutting out or disconnecting. Sound quality is very underwhelming. Not worth the cost at all.
