Well the Sony - X3000 4K Waterproof Action Camera with Remote was a good buy. Excellent size, price, and awesome 4k footage. I am still trying out all the features but my first impressions say that, this is a winner. The only negative thing I have to say about this package is that you would need to buy a separate Sony AKA-MCP1 Multicoat Protector for Action Cam to protect the Lense as it is not replaceable . Also you would need to buy a handgrip to hold the camera. Please be ready to spend an extra $100 to purchase all the essentials required to use this camera. I feel these should have been included in the cost of the camera. But other that that the product itself performs very well.

I used this on my recent trip and was amazed by the video. I mounted it to the handlebars of the motorbikes I was renting all throughout SE Asia, and got some great 4k video. This is one of my most favorite Best Buy purchases. I have posted a few videos on You Tube from this camera and am looking forward to posting more. There are many accessories out there for this that can be bought 3rd party. I got the handlebar mount in Phuket for about 20 USD, and it has held up very well. I would also recommend getting a second battery and charger, which can be found on Amazon for about $50.00.

As an owner of multiple action cameras, including GoPro, this is by far the best one I’ve used. The stabilization is insanely smooth. The picture is high quality as you’d expect with a 4K camera from Sony. My only dislike is the design of the battery door. Seems flimsy and very possible to eventually break. Other than that, this is a great buy.

I have had my FDR-X3000R about 3 weeks now to play with (the 4K version) and really love it for my two intended uses. There are a couple of minuses to bring up but in the scope of things this is a great POV action camera compared to my GoPro. In Use and the Pluses: I am using this for motorcycle riding and for snow skiing. The BOSS system really keeps the video image smooth, almost gimbal like when attached to a helmet, selfie stick or hand held. Super impressed to say the least. I am editing with iMovie and there is no issue with importing the video, everything is excellent. Now for the little minus to mention: In use the battery life is shorter than I would have expected. I am now trying to make sure and turn the camera off when not recording. It does boot up quickly so it really isn't a big deal. I also have two spare batteries now, Best Buy always has them in stock. Occasionally the camera loses it's connection with the remote and that is of course frustrating to wait for it to "handshake" and start talking to each other again. Finally, and this isn't about the camera specifically, but about the Sony action cam accessories. I have found it is super difficult to find mounts and accessories in stock. I have to hunt around the web and a bunch of vendors to get mounts that I want. Sony really needs to do a better job of their distribution of mounts if they are going to have success with this camera line.

First, let me say that I researched this purchase for quite a long time. I picked this camera because it has so many benefits over even the GoPros. The image stabilization far surpasses that of any other camera out there I saw and it even fits a standard tripod mount so no funny fittings needed. My only con is not having sound when you playback through the memories app. You get sound once downloaded though so no big deal. I drive a Malibu boat for a wakesurfer so we use this every day and I do not have any regrets in picking this camera.

I compared the GoPro5 with the Sony X3000, hands down what made my decision was the video stabilizer and included case. I purchase this for SCUBA diving and other activities after my instructor purchased and I was able to view the amazing video quality. Great purchase.

Was looking for an action camera that I can take on my trips. I was comparing between this one and the gopro hero. Im glad I purchased this one. Battery drains within an hour. But Im glad I purchased an extra set of battery.

Love this little camera. It comes with a lot of features/options. I think the battery doesn’t last long enough though

Great for on the go especially vacations. Small size so easy to carry in purse or backpack.

The remote connects to the camera less than half the time. Extremely frustrating! When it is connected, it's virtually impossible to see the screen in daylight. Worthless!!!!!
