Thank you for your review, and we are sorry if the max volume/loudness of our XB100 didn't live up to your expectations. This is not the experience we were hoping you would have. For the loudness as well as the sound quality of the speaker, this usually depends on the source that you're playing and audio device that you are using. You can turn up the volume of the speaker and the connected device to isolate the problem. Also, take note that sound becomes low while in use when the rechargeable built-in battery is running low as a result of long-time use of the speaker at a loud volume even though the speaker was connected to an AC outlet by a USB AC adaptor (commercially available) or to a computer that comes equipped with a USB charging port.
Additionally, the SRS-XB100 can also be paired with another SRS-XB100 if you want an even bigger sound.

I bought it for an outside speaker for my Daycare and for traveling to beaches.It is not loud enough at all. Very disappointing.

Posted .Hi StephenK, thanks for sharing your thoughts on the Sony - XB100 Compact Speaker. We are sorry to hear that you encountered issues while trying to connect via Bluetooth, we understand this can be frustrating sometimes. Here are some recommendations to avoid the problem:
- Place the speaker and the BLUETOOTH device within 1 m (3.2 ft) of each other.
- Press the Bluetooth button on the Speaker and wait until you hear the voice guidance and the light indicator starts double flashing in blue
- Delete the pairing information and try to pair it again
