    I am very disappointed with the sound. I wasn’t expecting an amazing sound but at least to have a good range for a small room. The sound is not great and almost like mono instead of stereo.

    Sony has hit an exceptional balance with the XB100. As an owner of two of its older siblings (XB10 & XB13), I can say this is the most balanced sound of the three. The XB10 was base heavy for its size but got a bit muddy at higher volumes; The XB100 can dish out strong (but not as strong) base and stays clearer at higher volumes with the base pumped up (although it gets a bit muddy at the very top volume like most speakers of this size. The XB13 had a crisper overall sound quality than the XB 100, but handles base the least well of the three, and is slightly exceeded in sound quality and detail by the XB100; In short, the XB100 will give you the best qualities of both of its predecessors, and pack the best sound possible for a speaker this size. i found the XB100 to be very responsive to a virtual EQ, and some songs that I've listened to for years sound like a remastered version hearing it on this speaker. Bluetooth connection was intuitive and extremely easy, as with most Sony products, and the on-speaker controls were easy to use as well. It comes with a strap that works great for carrying or positioning the unit. Its water and dust ratings are high enough to use this speaker in a variety of outdoor settings, and it can be paired with other like speakers if a larger sound is desired. This is a SMALL portable speaker, so everything I've written is in the context of what is possible with a speaker this size. While it would be hard to find a similarly sized speaker with this sound quality, it will not perform miracles, like trying to use for large gatherings or filling a large outdoor space with robust sound. Overall, a nice portable speaker for personal use, with full, detailed, quality sound reproduction. Highly recommend for those in need of a smaller device.

    Do not buy this! - this product will connect via bluetooth on iPhone 15pro - however it will not play any music. Taking back to best buy today for return. have completed all trouble shooting - reboot iPhone multiple Times - bluetooth shows connected - this product will not play any music!

      We are sorry to hear that the sound of your Sony portable Bluetooth speaker is not loud enough for your room. Please make sure to turn up the volume of the speaker and the connected device. You can also pair the speaker and the Bluetooth device again. If the connected device has an equalizer function, set it to off. Move the speaker away from a device such as a microwave oven and a wireless LAN access point. that may affect the sound quality of the speaker. Bring the Bluetooth device closer to the speaker. If there is any obstacle between the speaker and the Bluetooth device, move it out of the way. The sound will also depend on the size of your room and environment.

Also, the sound becomes low while in use in the following cases like when the built-in battery is running low and the charge indicator flashes slowly or when the rechargeable built-in battery is running low as a result of long-time use of the speaker at a loud volume even though the speaker was connected to an AC outlet by a USB AC adaptor.       The sound may become low in the following cases.
      When the built-in battery is running low and the CHARGE indicator flashes slowly, while the speaker is being powered by the built-in battery only.

      When the rechargeable built-in battery is running low as a result of long-time use of the speaker at a loud volume even though the speaker was connected to an AC outlet by a USB AC adaptor (commercially available) or to a computer that comes equipped with a USB charging port.

      When the ambient temperature of the speaker is high.

      If the sound becomes low while in use, follow the procedure below.
      Turn off the speaker.
      Charge the built-in battery sufficiently.

    Based off the Sony product name, I thought I was buying a high quality speaker. Sadly, the sound quality was extremely disappointing. Wish I could return it for a better product. I strongly discourage buying this inferior product.

    Great orange color and quality

    I love this speaker for the size and color. The sound is great but I did expect a little more sound to come blasting out because of all of the reviews I’ve read. My expectations were a little too high I guess but my family says it sounds great. It does the job that I need it for and I do enjoy it but again I expected a lot more boom. The color is explosive in person and it is great looking. Overall I do recommend this speaker for the price point.

    Bluetooth speakers are a dime a dozen these days, it's difficult to make one that truly stands out, particularly since they can be had so cheaply. I will admit I had high hopes for this one and it mostly delivered. To start, it's packaged in a small unassuming box with two small pieces of literature and the speaker itself shrouded in a cloth bag, which is a nice touch. Upon powering it up and putting it in pairing mode, I opened the bluetooth settings on my Galaxy S21 Ultra and was actually greeted with a message from the speaker asking to be paired, rather than having to select the device and connect it myself. I found this to be a rather nice experience when setting up the device. It left very little to be confusing about and it just 'worked'. Once connected I loaded up Amazon music and listened to a few different songs. The speaker is small so you cant really expect room-filling music, but with that being said it does get quite loud, and the open slots on the bottom are for the down-firing mini-subwoofer to move some air, which is definitely cool as it shows there was some thought put into the design. Where it falls just a TINY bit short (no pun intended) is the balance of the mids and highs. When playing Angels Fall by Breaking Benjamin, I found the higher notes to get a little muddy when played with a lot of lows and mids. However, when highs are played a little more exclusively, like some of the higher vocal tones in Bohemian Rhapsody, I found the experience to be far more pleasant. All in all it is a good little speaker, if not incredible, but if you're in the market there are a number of things done correctly here, including the setup experience and that downfiring subwoofer. Worth your consideration.

    Speaker was working fine for the first 2 months then stopped working. It will not hold a charge. Of course it’s passed the return date. Would not recommend purchasing this product.

    The Sony XB-100 Bluetooth speaker is a 3.7-inch tall, .6-pound device that fits easily into the palm of a hand; it also has a woven strap for attaching the XB100 to your school backpack, a beach chair, or for carrying while walking or jogging. The outer surface is a textured soft-touch material available in about 7 colors that makes the speaker easy to grip: Sony claims it can survive being dunked in about 3 feet of water. I did not test that. Sony says it is made with partially recycled plastic and packaged without plastic. The XB100’s rubber onboard controls proved reliable, there were no issues in pausing, playing, skipping tracks or adjusting volume. It makes loud sound for a speaker that’s shorter than beer cans. Sony’s portable speaker had no problem filling any room with sound that is especially big on bass. In use with a paired Smartphone my friends noted how clear I sounded during phone calls when I asked if I sounded good. Sony details it gets 16 hours of battery life, which lines up with my use; I was able to use it for many days before it needed to be recharged. Sony supplied a 12-inch USB-C cable; there is no power adapter included so use an existing USB output phone charger. There’s a flap that covers up the USB-C charging port. This will provide some protection against dust, sand and water since the speaker is claimed to be water resistant. By the way, this device only connects to a audio source using Bluetooth, there is no audio input port for use with a stereo 3.4 mm cable from another source. That and the fact Sony omits a charger is my only demerit.
