I had purchased the larger size and brought this one as a birthday gift for my daughter.

Let's start off with this speakers positive attributes. The fit and finish is top notch. Exactly what you expect from Sony. It exudes quality. If you buy two of these, you can pair them up together and get true stereo sound. The audible difference between one speaker in mono and two speakers in stereo is huge. This is where Sony has UE Wonderbooms beat.(please note.. The Wonderbooms are the only speakers in UE's line-up that are not capable of stereo ). At the present time you can't pair the UE's together for stereo. You can pair them together for a bigger mono sound. Both speakers retail for $100, not factoring in sales or discounts. Here is what I didn't like with the Sony's......they sound compressed. Detail between instruments is lacking. Also, they lack depth of image.If your not overly critical, (like I am) they will fill your room with loud music and with decent bass. My advice is to listen to several speakers from different manufacturers. The $100 range is a crowded field. Do your research and happy listening !!

This sound quality is excellent. I had another Sony speaker that was similar but couldn't get it in time to give as a gift. Ordered this one and am now happy with both Sony speakers! Some like the light feature but I didn't care for it and am glad it can be turned off.

Great sound. I use this almost daily. Bluetooth range is excellent. It stays connected to my phone playing music even if I go to another floor of my house.

This is the best and most durable speaker I have purchased!!! I am very happy with the results! I love that it lights up and you have the option to turn the lights off if you choose. I am overall very satisfied with this purchase!!! It holds a long lasting charge also!

I'm glad I purchased this speaker. It is small enough that I can carry it with me from room to room, but is loud enough that I can easily hear it from across a large room. The sound it produces is natural, with both treble and bass being well represented. I often listen to audio books, and the bass is not overpowering as I found to be a problem with other portable speakers. I also like the "extra bass" option that allows me to increase the bass or keep it at a more moderate level depending on the type of audio I'm listening to. I haven't actually timed it, but I think I get more than the 10-12 hrs play time that is estimated from a single charge. And the unit is nice enough to give me a verbal warning when the battery is getting low and needs a charge. I don't care for the flashing lights around the case and find these distracting, but I just turn them off and enjoy the speaker.
