I had the XB3 and only bought this one for the charger being that i lost my first one. Although the chargers are different this speaker sounds just a great as the original that didn't have the lights. Only gave it a 3 because of the chargers

Gave this as a gift to my husband who set it up. Easy to set up with Bluetooth. Very good sound quality, not BOSE but good enough. Nice to set it up on the deck to listen to our playlists.

I'd purchased 2 of the XB-30 speakers in preparation for our parents' 50th anniversary celebration trip to the beach, and was really looking forward to hearing great dual Bluetooth streaming from a tablet for Pandora and other music services with my family. I read the documentation, set them up all within about 25 ft (max range from each other, with the tablet in the middle, and all on AC power), and after MUCH ado attempting to pair each speaker to the tablet, and/or to each other, I was able to do this successfully only TWICE over a 5-day span. VERY difficult to accomplish for some unreal reason, and entirely frustrating. And unfortunately, even when I was able to get them "Party-paired", the sync (both speakers playing simultaneously, synchronized on sound/lights/strobe/etc.) couldn't seem to stay in sync for very long before popping, dropping out, drifting out of phase between each other. Huge bummer for the weekend plan I had in my head... On the upside (and yes, there is an upside), the features were quite extensive - the size of each individual unit, (even the freakish club-like strobe and morphing lighting effects), as well as durability spec and ginormous battery life are all outstanding and on-point for a unit this diminutive. For those looking, this has to be a really great sweet spot in portable BT speaker market for size, power output, sound quality, bass response and especially cost. However, for my purposes, the Sony Party Mode pairing was entirely spotty/unreliable, and I'd be hard-pressed to buy a second for this function on this model. Had to no choice to return - couldn't justify keeping the second.

Very happy with this speaker. Sounds loud and when you hit the bass it makes it sound even better! Highly recommend.

We got this as a Christmas gift for a teenager. The "real" bass sound was a must. We are hoping that the music now being placed would be better appreciated and the house would not become a "club".

So far this items have met our expectations for portable Bluetooth speaker. It's clear and wonderful bass sound.
