I was pleased o find the speaker was 75% charged out of the box. It holds a charge for a long time. The extra bass makes a big difference in sound. Great for backyard and garage.

Compared this to a number of speakers in the same price range and was impressed with the big sound (love the extra bass feature). Found it for $50 off a week after looking at it.

Bought this over the Bose models next to it the fact that you can link them together and they are nice and loud on their own the extra bass really gives audio a much better sound.

I really like the depth of the music And the extra base feature has a pretty noticeable difference when toggled on or off. Lastly the call button automatically switches your phone to phone audio,making it very easy if you were driving or if someone calls you and you don't want others to hear it out loud

This little speaker packs a punch! I am a big fan of Sony products and this one doesn't disappoint. They battery lasts for many many hours.

I should have found this speaker sooner. We now can have Sirius XM radio out in our pool area with no plug in necessary. Sound quality is great, and it’s easy to use.

The speaker provides great sound for the price. With the app it easily pairs to your iPhone or iPad. Easy to get several hours of music out of the speaker in between charges.

This speaker is worth every penny... it's loud and clear and battery lasts all day. Used it 5 times in the park and beach from 10am to 9 pm and lasted the whole time. Love it!

Didn’t regret purchasing it. ☺️☺️ Honestly, if I don’t like the product, I will bring it back and get the better ones, but this time I am very satisfied and I am so happy for that because I don’t have to stress myself trying to find out which is the better alternative to it.

This thing will play tunes through blue tooth for 20 hours. That's impressive! The build quality is stellar. Soft touch materials, substantial weight, water tight gasket around the ports, and the lights are pretty amazing. No doubt it will stand up nicely to pool and beach abuse, and it looks nice in the living room. It's definitely not a toss it in your bag and head to the pool accessory--this is a more serious gadget that that, and it's fairly large. Everything about the build says high quality. Sound is crisp and clear with no distortion even at high volume. It will fill a room with good sound, but you are not going to get stereo, subwoofer sound from a little box, and it should not be expected. The clarity at high volume is great, but it's still a mono speaker. Don't be fooled into thinking you're getting a bass powerhouse, despite the branding. Yes the bass sounds good--for one speaker. The XB40 is one of the best of its genre, and the phone app for the lights is a neat little feature.

Just to preface, I've never owned a bluetooth speaker, so my thoughts on this could be seen as biased. Firstly, this is not small, this is a pretty good size speaker, it's roughly a foot wide, about 4 inches tall and about 4 deep. So with it being a fairly large speaker that means that the speakers themselves aren't tiny and tinny sounding. Secondly, the biggest benefit to this speaker is that you can add a second, and it doesn't have to be the same model. Although I imagine in doing so you will end up with an imbalance of sound. The biggest issue with this though is cost. I don't imagine too many will be willing to shell out $500 for a pair of these speakers. So, as for quality of the speaker itself, the sound is pretty good. I've used it paired to my phone, my tablet, and my Vizio TV. It's really nice too in that it has an app you can download to connect to it to control the audio from whatever source you have it connected to. I noticed thought that when you do this, you need to connect the app first otherwise the BT will override the source it's initially connected to and stop audio/playback. Audio wise, I've listened to a variety of music and it's handled it all very well. It's not an exact accurate reproduction of the soundscape though. If the Extra Bass option is off it reverts to a flat eq, this can be adjusted from within the app thankfully. With it on flat it leaves something to be desired, but playing around with the EQ or even just turning on the Xtra Bass mode adds a lot of life and depth to the sound. Spending time with it can really transform the basic sound from it. It does get plenty loud too. The bass can get a bit muddled when the sound gets loud though. Some other pros of it I appreciate of this speaker is the fact that it's water resistant. The panel on the back that seals closed has a Aux port, USB to charge a device and the charging port. It seems to hold a charge for a good long while. The lights on it are to me, gimmicky, but to some it could be a welcome thing. I do wish that it was a bit better tuned to the audio coming through. It does pick up the pace when the playback get's busy, but for example, the strobe setting is just not very effective. Overall though, if you got the money to spend, for $250 this would be a good option. Again though, at $500 for a pair, that's a stretch. You might be better off going with some of the X20-30 models and then just pairing a bunch together. I believe you can have a maximum of 4 all in sync which is nice.

I’ve had this speaker for a while now...but the more I use it, the more I love it. Portable, durable, easy to use and sounds great for the price!

This speaker rocks and if u want u can watch the light show to the extra bass button is unbelievable and it will play all day and night I used to be a JBL fan not anymore!

This speaker is great for a medium sized room. Nice clear sound. Can connect up to three devices simultaneously so you don't have to be constantly pairing your devices!

This speaker has a great bass sound, however, cant hear highs.
