It’s small enough to have anywhere. Downside it’s not portable

I've been using this for over two years, but it's still working perfectly. The only thing is though, the battery dies much faster than before.

the sony xb40 is one of the most amazing bluetooth speakers you can buy. the sound performance and size are hard to believe for a wireless battery device. highly recommend this speaker, more so when on sale for 149!

The speaker sounds good. But it doesn't show or tell you basic battery percentage. I've listened to this thing for hours and go to check the battery percentage and it says 60% then all of a sudden it just dies with NO WARNING. Attempting to party chain is a difficult task without YouTube because the owners manual and apps are useless. Also once you get party chain going you can only control one speaker you have to manually turn the other speakers up. So if you have 5 speakers connected to party chain you have to walk to each individual speaker WTF. I bought this and the xb30 and I'll be returning both. DEFINITELY NOT WORTH THE MONEY. Get jbl

The bass on this speaker is great. I ended up buying 2. Both can be used at the same time. One is used as Left other as Right. You can control the lights on the speaker using the app. Very happy with this purchase

These speakers have been used for outdoor parties, indoor activities, presentations, etc. They are so good and easy to connect to my phone and tablet. I would totally recommend someone purchasing this product.

The SONY SRS-XB40 wireless speaker is a solidly constructed party-in-a-box. With it's water resistant, rubberized case, its extra bass boost and the built in light show, it is a no-brainer for those pool and patio parties. The un-boxing experience is very good. The product is well packaged and protected and there is a good getting-started guide in the box. We were able to sync the speaker to both our Samsung and Google Pixel phones immediately. The unit claims to offer up to 24 hours of playback on a single charge. We have yet to go that long between charging but can confirm that it can go strong for a couple of hours at least. The multi-colored, DJ style light show is a novelty that we probably will disable for most occasions. We played music from both our Amazon and Google streaming services with no problems. Now for the not-so-good news - the SONY app designed to add additional capabilities (and control the lights) is a nightmare! The name of the app as identified in the SONY documentation has changed and the companion app is all but unusable. We weren't able to compare it to the IOS app as we are not Apple folks but the Android version is not usable. In spite of that, the speaker sounds and looks great and will definitely get a major workout this summer!

This will be the 4th Sony Blue Tooth Speaker. The clarity and bass that comes out of this small box is "AWESOME "! You can feel the vibes on every level of the music. I totally recommend!!!
