The lights harken back to the days of Windows Media Player's dazzling show. The sound is great, with plenty of bass, mids, highs, and clarity. Even sounds pretty good outdoors. The rechargeable battery seems to be working amazingly well. Connecting/pairing is as easy as it can get. Software is not awesome but, who cares? Would buy again for sale price!

As an owner of many different Sony products, this speaker perfectly met my expectations and more. Great sound, and great volume.

this Sony speaker has more bass than any other speaker i have heard, it sounds fantastic, use the apps from your smartphone to control the lights or turn them off, and there is an equalizer in the app as well. On a scale of 1-10 I would rate the mids and bass at 8-9 and the highs at 6. OVERALL VERY HAPPY AND WOULD BUY AGAIN IN A HEATBEAT.

This was a great purchase on a Black Friday deal. The bass is ridiculously loud. The size makes it very easy to take with me

My husband bought one of these speakers for use at work. He works in a loud machine shop and this speaker sounded so good that he ended up buying a 2nd speaker. Now we have two in the house and they bluetooth to eachother which is super cool. He previously had a bose speaker, but this sony one has way better sound and bass.

Love these speakers. They are super loud for there size, i love the party lights that go with the music. You can connect more then one together. I usually use it as my computer speaker since my moniter has no speakers. Water proof, very sturdy.

Excellent sound coming from such a small speaker. On the plus side it lights up too and my daughter truly loves that.

I’m quite the fan of this speaker. Battery lasts a very long time, the speaker gets obscenely loud, and has more bass than any speaker this Small should be able to. I’m not into hip hop or anything of the sort. But for my taste in music (everything other than rap/r&b) the speaker exceeded my expectations.

This is by far the best speaker for the size and price. I have tried many brands, and this sony speaker is by far the loudest with the deepest bass and clear sound. I have the XB30 and XB60 and link them together. The XB40 is the best choice if you want loud sound that is easily portable.

This is my second Sony bluetooth speaker. I love the lights that this speaker has, and the sound quality is great!

Traded my old Sony in for the newer model. This one is a lot bigger but the sound quality is a lot better.

Great sound and I absolutely love the neon lights that synchronise with the beat of the music.

Really pleased with the sound quality of this speaker. Have had more than a few guests ask me if it's really producing all of the music. Bass in particular is impressive for the size.
