The sound is really good, they keep majority of noise out also. Depends on the volume and pitch. Screaming children or barking dogs will still be heard some I think...lol

Sony - XB550AP Extra Bass On-Ear Headphones are really good and the bass is great. I only gave these headphones 4 stars because the cup doesn't cover your whole ear.

These ear phones are what I expected for what I paid for. The sound quality is good. Although the fit on the ears was a bit small and over time starts feel uncomfortable.

Listening to these headphones at a low volume and you can hear the bass. At a higher volume you truly get to experience a deep rich bass. Best bang for your buck.

The mic would not always work with my laptop and I'd picked these up primarily to use with skype and listen to music while at work The sound quality is amazing though.
