I was using these as headphones for my computer, they didn't work out so I exchanged them for a gaming headset.

These do claim to be ‘on ear’ - but they are not very comfortable on a long flight.

If you just want a basic pair of headphones these are ok.

I appreciate a good pair of over-ear headphones, just as a music enthusiast... but especially with my dj-ing hobby. If you're looking to spend less than a monthly car payment, typically they're of poor to mediocre quality, in terms of their design and/or sound and are usually not very comfortable. Sony products can range in quality as much as they do in price, but when they want to do something right, there's no question that they can compete with the best. These headphones were definitely something they wanted to do right... and at an extremely good price as well. The name of the model would have you believe that these things are just heavy on the low end...which they certainly are, but the range of sound they produce is amazingly well balanced. They just give you a very clean, crisp, full & rich audio experience. They're also probably some of the most comfortable headphones I've ever put on my head. For the price, I haven't experienced anything better. If you're using them on a mobile device and you want to take it to the meticulously tweaked next level, I recommend downloading an app with an equalizer, where you can really fine-tune the audio. You're in for a real treat, with this well priced quality set of cans!

For sony , these ear phones are not worth the price

Great while they lasted fragile. Broke easily. Not well pleased as Sony was supply to last based on all reviews.

I bought these to wear around the house when working. They were a poor comparison to Mr. Dr. Dre headphones so I returned them.

Sony make a great products but this one was a disappointment. Had to return it as my ears ached within an hour of using them.

Sony should be embarrassed. Cheap plastic with sharp edges. When on, any contact (like rubbing against a pillow) with the headphones creates annoyingly loud noise. Used them for a week before buying the Phillips.

Sony is a brand for quality. Not this unit though. Poorly built and sound sucks. Extra bass? There is no bass in this unit. Look for another unit

I was going to buy the wired Skullcandy hesh 2.0 but for the same price I could these Sony headphones. I then decided to be the Sony headphones. I quickly realized that I had made the right choice. The base is powerful and full with energy. The build quality is great and is a nice fit. Amazing headphones for an amazing price.

I'm hunched over my desk writing this because I'm trying to listen to music on my computer using these headphones. The sound quality is solid, though the speaker holes are too small, making things a bit muffled. I tried the noise cancelling feature once and it works alright, but I fail to see the point as my music already pretty much achieves that function. The cord is just ridiculously short though. It barely reaches my knee if I wear them while standing, and using them with my computer is impossible unless I move my chair practically in front of the computer itself. I had a pair of my preferred brand (Sennheiser HD 202) that broke, and I bought these as a backup while I wait for a replacement. They do the job, but they'll always remain a backup. I guess I would recommend them to someone who isn't as picky as me.

I purchased Sony XB550's after my current pair of headphones had broken. I've owned these for a few months now and the sound quality is very similar to the offerings made by Beats By Dre brand. Definitely worth the money if your searching for a quality pair of headphones.
