Okay
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I don't really have a problem with this item but I cannot think of anything that really sets it apart from other cheaper items. The headphones do stay in well and the sound is good. It isn't great though and I am not fond of the way the headphones hook on your ears. It does have a little clip so that you can tighten the cord around the back of your neck to prevent them from falling off easily. However, the little clip doesn't always work (at least in my experience) so this isn't enough to set it apart from other similar items. So, it is a good item but it is not the best in-ear headphones that I have come across. Still, it is not really disappointing and I would recommend it. It is not the best but it is not a bad item to any extent. Nothing really stands out to me about the item, though.

Great Sounding, Good Fit-if you like over ear
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. These bluetooth headphones sound great. I used them for music and audiobooks. I personally prefer the in-ear bud style headphones to the over the ear clip on type. They stayed on well for exercise and general use. Although with the over-ear hook the earphone did not stay all the way in my ear-seemed to not sit flat enough to keep the bud in ear. The controls on the right ear hook/clip are easy enough to use, but I found it difficult to find them without feeling around behind my ear. I am used to the neck band style controls on my LG Tone, or the wire/mic controls on the Bose SoundSport. I would recommend these for use to exercise or active (running, lifting, etc.), but would seem a little bulky for everyday non-active use (desk, in car, etc.) - something a little less intrusive like the Tone might be better.

Great bass and long lasting, however...
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I'm usually not a fan of wearing in-ear wireless headphones because they're easy to lose, you have to constantly clean the gel buds due to earwax, and they don't fit as comfortably as on-the-ear headphones tend to be. These however changed my perception of what they could potentially become. Sony's XB80BS are considered "Extra Bass" which is a lineup of audio products that place an emphasis on bass gain without inhibiting performance and sound quality. By simply pressing the "bass boost" button on the right earpiece (awkwardly placed, IMO), an extra woofer turns on and equalizes the bass on whatever you're listening to so that the lower tones can be more pronounced without affecting the overall tonality of your highs and mids. I appreciate the enhancement functionality but typically most music sounds excellent enough for me without bass boost enabled. I would however turn the feature on if I wanted complete noise cancellation from outside sources. The XB80BS earbuds are tied together by a cord between both which is designed to be worn around-behind your neck. I try my best not to mess with the cord as any sounds made from any rubbing or movement of the cord gets fed to the earbuds, which can easily get annoying. So where does it plug in to your device, you ask? It doesn't. The XB80BS' easily pair via Bluetooth within seconds and offer up to 6-7 hours of battery life per full charge. You can also quickly get about an hour of usage with only 15 minutes of charging. For the most part, these in-ear wireless headphones do a good job of producing decent audio quality (with optional bass enhancement), long battery life, and for them being advertised as "sport headphones" seem pretty robust to handle daily use for a long time (of course nothing lasts forever, but you never know). They don't have me permanently switching from on-the-ear wireless headphones though. To each their own tastes.

Good but with a few issues
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The pictures I've seen of these headphones are little deceiving online. For one thing, they're a lot bigger than they look. In fact they're kind of bulky, and I wasn't thrilled about that. It's nice that you can cinch the cord behind your head so that the cord doesn't get caught when moving (especially when working out). However, as shown in the pictures...this works a lot better if you have no hair. If you're a woman with longer hair (mine comes down just below my shoulders), it's not quite as easy to tighten these without getting hair caught in them. The sound is great, I had no issues with connectivity. But the size and fit of these isn't quite what I was hoping for. I would recommend these for a guy (or girl) with short hair who wants a good set of headphones while working out, otherwise, I'll probably look elsewhere.

Picky earbud'er here
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I use mine for fitness & meditations ambient noise for work. The sound quality here in my opinion is way better than Jaybirds or Beats (I've tried both and returned them). If you need a little base with your workout and crisp clear sound, these are for you. They're $50 off so you can't beat that. Buy them! Great price point when on sale. Con: little bit tiny bit more bulky but who cares.

Bluetooth connectivity issues...
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I really wanted these to work, unfortunately on my ipad and android devices, intermittent disconnection atleast once an hour. I have read others reviews that say no problem, but for me its a big problem, I can't use these, when they work the sound is decent, sadly... maybe I got a defective copy.

Not Bad but not great..
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have the corded version of these and those sound a lot better. I expected more from these with the Extra Bass name and price tag. Bluetooth works good. To compare these to my corded version: 1. Don't get as loud 2. Bass is weaker 3. Clarity is not as good These still sound a lot better than the Jaybird X3 I just swapped them for!!!

Disappointing Purchase
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Save your money!! Sounds quality was very disappointing; buttons awkward to use; uncomfortable in ear after short period of time; and difficult to wear only one ear bud at a time. Echoes when using as a phone headset, and you hear sounds when the cord moves or rubs on anything. Not good Sony quality at all.

Very low quality
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The sound in these earphone is ok. Not too bad, not too good. They last a few hours and stay on the ears thanks to the hook design. The problem is that they a very low quality. In typical Sony fashion (when it comes to earphones and the like), the broke near the 1year mark. Fortunately it was a few days before 365 days so I can ask for an exchange. I strongly advise you to keep your buying records and serial number. If you are lucky, they will break within 12M and you could ask for a replacement.

Poor Bluetooth connectivity
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought these to go in a different direction since the jaybird, jbl, beats, monster, and every other headphone I tried will either short out or have Bluetooth connection issues. This one had Bluetooth connectivity issues. I did all the trouble shooting steps such as disconnecting the device forgetting the device and tried multiple devices and the headphones kept on losing connectivity during my run. I tried my wife's iPod and phone and still had the same issues I will return these tomorrow. These had so much potential.

Not loud enough
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had to max the volume to barely get enough noise in a quiet room. In a loud gym, they're useless. I was expecting so much more.

Stopped taking charge after 7 months.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Disappointed in Sony. I got these for a Christmas gift 7 months ago from my children. Seeing the price of these and knowing that my children are all minors who dont have a lot of money makes this even worse. These headphones have been well cared for, stored properly, not used in the rain, etc. The battery died last night and they will not charge regardless of whether they are connected to my laptop or a wall socket.
