Bought these and within the 1at month the headphones had problems keeping a charge. Got them replaced. The replacement broke at the seam of the cup during the 4th month. Decided these headphones are not worth it. I won’t be buying Sony’s headphones. Ended up spending almost $500 for a Sennheiser Bluetooth headphones and I love them. I got these Sony headphones as a Christmas present and wow. These sound better than the beats I paid twice as much for. Deep bass warm rich sound and they are wireless! The extra bass feature gives them that extra punch. Best headphones I've ever owned.

Given that my review would have consisted of, "These work great," I asked my teenager to try these out and let me know what they thought. Half an hour later and praises could be heard, two days later and what I believe is a realistic review emerged. These are very comfortable and easy to adjust. The sound quality is fantastic though the bass effect could be a bit better but it is still very good. As my mom found out, the noise canceling works well but only when you are actually using the headphones and not when you want to block out your teenager's ramblings. I do like that you can control whether you want the bass effect and/or noise canceling on. You can control the volume on the headphone itself and there is pause, play and skip functions on the headphones themselves. The earpieces turn so you can basically turn them into mini-speakers when you wear them around your neck.

    AIR TRAVEL SAVER

This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

For years I've used the normal earbuds or headphones while traveling for business and pleasure refusing to spend over $50 for a pair of headphones. Shuffling between airports I tend to see different styles of headphones with BEATS and BOSE being the most popular. I finally worked up the nerve to spend $300 for a pair of BEATS but being the budget shopper I am, I started to read some reviews and videos. Once I found that the Sony XB950N1 were way better than the BEATS and compared tot he Bose 35 I had a real big decision to make. The Bose clarity of music and NC is outstanding but the volume wasn't loud enough. So no I had to see which is more important during a flight. I just recently took a 5 hour flight from ATL to OAK and the Sony BT did the job. PROS- PRICE WAS EXTREMELY LOWER THAN THE BOSE AND BEATS. NC AND LEVEL OF MUSIC WAS MORE THAN EXPECTED ON A PLANE. COMFORT WAS OK, NOT AS LIGHT AS THE BOSE BUT GOOD. CONS- AFTER 2 HOURS OF MUSIC THEY START TO CAUSE A LITTLE ISSUES WITH THE EARS.. AS I WAS GETTING LUGGAGE, I PLACED THEM ON MY HEAD AND AS I BENT OVER THEY FELL OFF. THE BASS CAN BE OVERWHELMING AT TIMES. I SEEM TO HAVE THE BASS OFF AND IT STILL PACKS A PUNCH... NEED TO RAISE THE HIGHS ON THE PHONE APP.

Let me just say from someone who would consider themselves a "beats" kinda person I am soo surprised and happy at what Sony as done here. everything from the carrying case to how soft the headphones are on your ears, the design the sound. Just really on point with what you should expect from a company like Sony and exceeds expectations. The sound that comes out.. SHOCKING. I can only listen to them on half volume and it is still SOO loud. The bass once you turn the base button on and noise cancelling option is out of this world! I officially have traded in my beats. Cant wait to wear them at the gym for a next level experience during workouts. ONLY cons: & hour charging time... ridiculous... and they try to maker you download ONE but not 2 apps. Not necessary since the controls are on the headphones. Love being wireless you wont be disappointed!

First off I think these headphones look great. They come with a storage bag, charging cable and aux cable. The ear cushions are thick and soft but could be made of better materials in my opinion. The headband feels nice over the head and on the ears. I have a nice tight seal when I put them on. I love that you can also fold the cans in so you can store them in a more compact form. Controls are on the cans and very easy to use once you memorize them. The noise canceling feature is also great and blocks out ambient noise. Connecting theses headphones to my phone via Bluetooth was super easy and painless. Now the bass on these headphones are Amazing! You can feel all the low frequencies and wow was my first reaction when I felt the bass. You can download the app to adjust it to preset modes and adjust the bass levels. Wish there were more options in the app to truly customize the settings. Overall great headphones with awesome bass levels that come with good features and they look good.

These headphones are great for bass lovers. They have a powerful and punchy sound, noise cancelling, and long battery life. They are also comfortable and wireless. However, they are not very balanced or detailed, and have too many buttons. They are good for some genres, but not for all.

The Sony Wireless Noise Cancelling Extra Bass Headphones were easy to set up and pair with my phone. I downloaded the Sony Headphone App which compliments the headphones. You can change the equalizations to sounds like arena, outdoors, music hall and more. You can also customize the level of bass and really enjoy the music as you want to hear it. The battery has lasted a long time. I have been using it the past two weeks and still have a charge left. It says it has 22 hours of battery life with continuous wireless music playback and that is believable. The sound quality is out of this world and exactly what you would expect from Sony. Very comfortable on the ears.

Easy setup, Sony has two apps that you can download for use with this product. The Headphones app quickly and easily walks you through the pairing process (even a novice can quickly pair the headphones, its a great app). The second app allows you to turn on noise canceling and adjust bass level, I wish it had more EQ abilities, will even work with your apps like Music, iHeart Radio, Pandora etc. Pros: Battery life is pretty good, the sound is good, and fits a big dome like mine! Also, you can attach it through 3.5mm if the battery dies. Works great on phone calls too! Cons: The ear pieces swivel and I am not sure I like that. Short charging cord, and time it takes to fully charge battery (7 hours) Overall pretty good job, I am pleased with the headphones!

These Sony headphones sound great. I prefer them with the bass enhancement turned off, even then they have plenty of punchy bass. The Android app is a necessity if you plan to use the bass feature, since without the app the bass boost is either on or off. With the app you can adjust the bass, and not just to boost it, you can cut it as well. My head is pretty large, and these are the first headphones I've owned where the band that goes over the top of your head is long enough to let the earcups fit comfortably over my ears. I would buy them again just for that reason!

Hi GloriaD, Your feedback is highly appreciated, it will be a big help in improving the quality of our products. The noise canceling function is effective in low frequency ranges such as airplanes, trains, or offices (near air conditioning, etc.) and is not as effective for higher frequencies, such as human voices. ~Ralph sony_US

The XB950N1 is a comfortable and well made addition to Sony's lineup of wireless headsets, delivering solid sound, a rich feature set, and long battery life. Included in the attractive packaging are audio and USB charge cables and a very nice soft cloth drawstring carry bag which can hold them both along with the headset itself. These 'phones are nicely built with thick, comfortable padding that sat easily over my ears and remained comfortable for extended listening. The cans rotate 90 degrees so that you can store the unit (mostly) flat within the bag. I've used these now with Android (Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge and a Galaxy Tab S), and (Windows 10 (Surface Pro 4). In all cases, the connection has been easy to initiate, reliable, and clear. Changing between devices has not been an issue. While not quite at the level of Sennheiser or Bose, the sound quality is above average, especially when listening without activating the included "extra bass" feature, which I generally found to over-boost the already robust low end. Obviously the data rate of Bluetooth connections also limits quality somewhat, although this unit does a nice job of rendering the sound without a lot of digital noise and there's always the included audio cable as an option if you want to use a source from a higher quality DAC. That said, I really find no fault with the included DAC, and unlike some other recent releases there is very little background hiss from the processor. Noise suppression is excellent, due in part to the isolating effect of the ear cushions and in part suppression circuitry that does a good job without introducing too much noise to the signal. Human voices are still audible with suppression enabled, a good thing in my view, but lower frequency droning such as car engines, appliances, airplanes, etc. are all but eliminated. I've used these for about 4-5 hours now and only partially depleted the battery, so battery life should not be an issue and is certainly adequate for long flights. I've briefly used Sony's Headphone Connect app (Android version). It seems to work fine and I was able to check battery condition and adjust surround sound processing and bass boost via the app. In my experience, the sound is best just left flat without the artificial surround or bass processing. These cans sound just fine without the additional electronic tricks. Overall, while there are probably better cans out there with better drivers, those models are also typically much more expensive. The Sony XB950N1 presents a combination of quality, comfort, performance, and price which makes them easy to recommend.
