work well, styling a little clunky
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.lets start from the beginning Whats in the box: The headphones, aux cable, charging cable, carrying bag. I would have like to of seen a hard carrying case rather than just a bag, especially at this price point. Lack of a power brick is understandable, as most people have plenty of usb power bricks laying around. Quality: The build quality is good. Soft ear cups, soft head band, quality plastics. Sound quality is equally as good, there is a bass boost option which I keep off, as it tends to make things too "boomy" for my taste. Style: a bit clunky for my tastes. Not nearly as sleek looking as some other headphones on the market. Features: wired or wireless connectivity, play/pause track skip forward/backward buttons. Noise cancellation. All features work well, the noise cancellation is on par with other headphones that I have tried with the same features. Battery life: I get around what is advertised, though I do keep bass boost off. I wish there was a meter on the headphones them selves for charge level. The only way to see charge level is through the phone app. App: There is a companion phone app, which honestly, I have yet to find a use for. It lets you turn some features on and off, but not much else. Overall: Good sound, good quality. Styling is a little lack luster, but to each their own on that.

Amazing sounds for an excellent price
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.can't go wrong with this purchase, I am a musician and enjoy listening and being able to hear all of the musical aspects and this earphones are it! Please keep in mind that it also depends on the quality of the audio being played, for example I listen to music thru the amazon app and it is an excellent source, sounds good with youtube videos as well but less quality.

Excellent Noise Cancelling Headphones
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have had these for a year now and have brought them along for many flights. I thoroughly enjoy them for their noise cancelling abilities and the bass is definitely really good compared to the beats/bose. I got these during 2017 Black Friday sale. The only negative I have is that they did not come with a good carrying case. It came with a small pouch that isn't that sturdy. If you are going to be spending the big bucks for noise cancelling headphones, I expect a pretty good case that it comes with just like your competitors.

Pretty good headphones
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. These headphones perform very well. They have an app that you use to control the sound levels and different programming. Overall they are cool. The downside though is that they are too bulky for my head. I may just have a small head, I don't know, but they slide off pretty easily.

Excellent!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. An awesome pair of cans....super, deep, thumping bass, but not the kind of bass that distorts. If you want powerful bass, you got it. The highs are there, also, but make sure your player is set up to make full use of these headphones using EQ. Once you set up your player EQ, the sound of these cans is awesome. Love the fact that the battery life is awesome, too! Can't go wrong. Snagged these when they were on sale, and so glad I did. I highly recommend these!

Great Headphones
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this Headphones when it was on Sale as I wanted to get those high end phones in $200 plus range. The sound quality is fantastic. Ear cups are big so it gives you good feeling and sound loss is minimal. Battery life is excellent as advertised. Only drawback why I did not gave 5 Star is they are little heavy and 1-2 hours of listening is fine but if you are looking for continuous use beyond that then you should consider the newer model which is much lighter.

Prefer these over Beats
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was looking for bass heavy headphones, these are impressive. These have more bass then my previous Beats Solo 2 Wireless. The noise cancellation is pretty decent on these as well. For $124 these headphones are well worth the price. I would give them 5 stars but, i did notice the music as the volume goes up becomes just a little distorted but it's nothing like OH MY GOD HAVE TO RETURN THESE RIGHT NOW! I actually prefer these over the Beats Solo 2 Wireless headphones.

They are good
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. If you cannot afford a pair of Bose headphones these are a great option. The noises canceling is a very nice feature. The sound quality is good. Not the best but they are good. I have no trouble wearing them for a long period of time. They have a great battery life. The controls are very easy to use. Over all it is good option in its class. I still would like a pair of Bose headphones though.

Great headphones at a great price.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Just got these today and I am already enjoying my own Pink Floyd concert at this moment. Powerful bass exactly the way I like it. Pairing to my iPhone was a breeze thanks to the Sony Headphones app available on iTunes. Performs as stated on every level. Wireless is awesome.

Incredible headphones
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Noise cancelling is great and bass is incredible. In addition I feel these have a very clean and balanced sound. Obviously, if someone cranks bass to 10 It can be overwhelming but it never gets muddy. Thanks Sony for making a great set of headphones at a competitive sale price.

Great Headphones for Flights
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have both the Bose and these Sony's. I bought the Sony's for the convenience of not having wires (bluetooth) to fumble with. The feature that allows you to cup the right speaker with your hand to hear the ambient noise is fantastic. I don't have to slip them off to hear the announcements or the flight attendant speaking to me. Also when I get up to visit the head I can leave my phone in my pocket and just slip off the headphones. No wires to get caught up in anything. The sound is in my opinion comparable to the Bose and I chose the convenience of wireless. My only complaint would be the battery needs constant babysitting when not in use. I need to prepare when I am going on a trip and recharge them or be greatly disappointed when they are dead. I see a lot of complaints about having to charge with a computer but I use the plug adapter from my iphone and just plug the usb cord into it and it works fine.

If you're searching for bass heavy headphones....
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.THEN GET THESE. I've had my fair share of audiophile-level headphones, AMP,s DAC's, etc and sometimes a pair of fun headphones are the answer. fun is exactly how I would describe the sound signature of these headphones. If you enjoy music that is generally bass heavy (Hip Hop, Rap, EDM, Dubstep, etc) then you'll want these. It's like having mini subwoofers on your head. Surprisingly, even at high volumes with the bass boost on, the bass boost doesn't cause the bass to get all muddy and run into mids, highs or vocals. Everything is still there, the bass is just elevated to another level. If you want to listen to a non-bass heavy genre of music or the bass is too much for you, turn the bass boost off and you're good to go.

Defective product/swivel
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Hello - I bought this product at the Best Buy store in New Hartford, NY in April. I picked these out in about five minutes as a replacement for an older pair of corded Sony noise cancelling headphones. I bought these for the great sound, the bluetooth and noise cancelling features. They were a mid-range price and on sale for $179, down from $249. I paid on my debit card and left the store. The sound, the bass, the Sony app and pairing the device - flawless. They paired with my Android phone, the Fire TV stick and Windows 10 laptop with ease. I was very excited! They are a little large/bulky, however, I am interested in the quality of the sound and not the appearance. Incredible bass/sound! I thought - at last - a great pair of headphones! Within three weeks, I picked up the headphones to clean them/wipe them off and one of the cups simply fell out in my hand and was dangling by the cord. :( :( :( I was shocked!!! Apparently, these are of the swivel and fold design as were my previous pair. Unfortunately, something cracked on the inside of the headband and the swivel popped out of the headband. Upon inspection, the plastic cracked and could not be fixed! (CHEAP!!!!) Unfortunately, I was just a couple days past the return window of two weeks. I contacted the local Best Buy store (or so I thought - more on this later) and explained the situation and they suggested to contact Sony due to "physical damage." I did contact Sony support and was flatly told "NO" and they would not cover repair for the headphones due to "physical damage." I was referred to "Product Repair" where I could pay for my brand new headphones to be repaired for a price. I certainly did not break them and if they are that fragile to break just two-three weeks in - then I would consider them defective in terms of materials used. The cups swivel and fold - so I would assume they would be able to hold up for several years before running into this type of issue, especially in this price range! I contacted Best Buy again and asked for a manager to see what considerations they would make. I carefully explained the entire story and took down names of who I talked to. They suggested that I bring in the product for a manager to review and they would make a determination. I did some research on this subject and found several similar reviews on both the Best Buy and Sony websites. I printed those to use as a way to work with management on this subject. After renting a car and traveling an hour to this location, I went to the customer service desk and spoke to three managers. I was informed that Best Buy enforces their policy and the product was outside of the return window and physically damaged and that there was nothing that could be done. When I asked for the staff members that I had talked to on the phone, I was told that they don't work there! I later was told that when you call the local store number, it is transferred to a call center in Syracuse, NY. I explicitly told the "Call Center" all of the details of what happened previously. The management also informed me that the call centers "mistake" in asking me to have the product evaluated by management was not their normal policy and that it would be "addressed" with their management. The Call Center is not in alignment with store policies. This is NOT fair to the customer! I asked for the store manager several times after speaking with the manager on duty and two assistant managers that simply quoted policy. They also quizzed me why I didn't buy the $60 product protection plan. Why should I have to pay $60 to cover what is obviously a design flaw? What happened to quality materials and workmanship? Why should the consumer need to pay additional money to cover products that break so easily? I was also asked why I was asking managers to break "THREE" of their policies and was given the impression that I should know better. Really?? The headphones were $195 with tax and it's not something I'm just going to let go of. At last, the store manager, John came out and I re-explained the entire situation and basically pleaded with him to make an exception. He brought over the sales associate to look at the headphones. He said that as a manager, he appreciated my story/situation and would make an exception to Best Buy's policies in this case and that he valued my business. I did thank him as I previously purchased a Samsung 48" LED TV at this location 3-4 years ago and is an exceptional TV. We went over to the headphones aisle and then learned that the headphones were no longer on sale and the price climbed to $249. If I wanted to "exchange" them at this point, I was informed that I would need to pay the difference of now $70. Afraid of this model, I would also need to purchase the protection plan for $60, which is now going to cost me $130, in case they break again. I also considered several alternatives, however, I was fairly upset and I did not want to purchase any other headphones without the proper research and investigation. I was able to obtain a store credit and I left the store. I do thank the store manager, John - for making this exception and providing excellent customer service! Very much appreciated and I will consider Best Buy again in the future. However, with this said - I cannot recommend this product at all for any reason! Sony really should make this a metal hinge/swivel due to the constant flexing of the cup in this area. This is also my first issue with a return at Best Buy so I will be a lot more cautious before I make future purchases at this store. Thank you for your time.

On Par with the others
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. These headphones do not have as good sound quality as my beats over the ear headphones. It's not bad but it could be better. Battery life is decent but they are not as comfortable as my beats. If you have large tubas these may not be the best for you

headphones but not headsets - no "mute" button
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. You can buy headsets that can play music, or headphones that let you take phone calls. These headphones are the latter, but they lack a "mute" button so they're not really suitable for business purposes. In conference calls I found myself fumbling with my phone to get through the lock screen and back to the phone app while people were saying "are you still there?" So I exchanged them for the "VXi - BlueParrott S450-XT Bluetooth Headset" ... that at least have stereo for music listening and which have a "mute" button (though oddly, it's programmable, which would take away the "mute" function‽). I'm no fan of Bluetooth for audio and the Sony headphones did nothing to improve my opinion. All I had to do was turn around and make the Bluetooth pass through my body to get noticeable crackling. They were pretty hot to wear, too, and maybe a little tight (just a little) for my hat size 7 5/8 head. I've purchased two pair of Sony "Extra Bass" headphones in the past and have bought more Sony products in 40 years of adult life than YOU have, but in this case I just had to give them back.
