Be VERY Careful, not durable.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I loved these headphones, until they snapped with the slightest movement. I have had them for 8 going on 9 months. I was sitting at work at my desk and I went to unfold them and one arm on the swiveling earpiece snapped in two. It didn't even make a sound it disconnected so effortlessly. Upon further inspection, all other 3 remaining arm pieces are cracked. Misuse or carelessness would not explain them breaking, take my word on that. Also, Sony offers no specific support as far as I can tell, for these type of headphones. Research that part for yourself though, I may have missed it. I do not know if I can tape/glue to prevent them from fully breaking. For $250, this should not be an issue. Otherwise, sound quality is great, sound cancelling works good for me. Bass sounds great. However I haven't put them on since the one cracked because they'll fully break. Useless if you ask me. I attached two pictures, one showing the fully broken arm and another showing another cracked arm.

Highly Recommend the Replacement Plan
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I found these headphones to be impressive. I'm always on the look out for headphones that you can't even tell are there and block out noise. While these were well worth the sales price $150, I would highly recommend you buy the replacement plan, as with repeated use the band will stretch and break. My main goal of this review is just to tell you to buy the replacement plan, because you WILL have to use it eventually.

Great headphones for the price!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I did a lot of research when looking for a new pair of good quality headphones, whether it be Bose, Beats, Audio-Technica, etc. but I found these (Sony XB950N1) to have the best performance per dollar (purchased on sale at BestBuy.com for $119.99). Sound is great; the extra bass Sony promises definitely delivers. They are very comfortable, the pads are very plush, a little large (you can see them in your peripherals), but not obnoxious. It connects with my Bluetooth device instantly without any delay, the app you can download for these is pretty user friendly, although there's much not else you can do with the app that you can't do on the headphones themselves, other than adjust the bass level. Noise-cancelling is ok, as soft white-noise is blocked completely (such as a furnace fan) but you can still hear everything else, like talking, running a faucet, etc. The USB cord that it comes with (charging only) is a little short, so I had to use another USB in order to charge it from a wall charger and keep the headphones on my desk. The buttons are flush with the speaker housing, so sometimes finding what you want to push is a little hard, but not after you wear them for a while. All in all, I feel that this is a great pair of headphones that delivers great performance for the price.

A tad bulky looking...but great sound.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Let’s be honest. I have a big head tk begin with. These make it look even bigger. Sad face. Astetic aside, functionality is great with my iPhone XR and the sound is great. Noise canceling seems solid and I look forward to actually being able to hear the movies I watch on flights. Seem snug, but won’t be using them during my workouts...again, too bulky. For the price, well worth it.

Very Disappointed
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Let me preface this review by first saying like most people I spent a lot of time studying up on what I'm spending my money on. I had been wanting a quality pair of Bluetooth stereo headphones for quite some time. I scoured the internet looking for the best ones. Money wasn't an option. I just wanted the best of the best. I looked at Bose, Dre Beats, and Sony. I inevitably came upon these. I read the testimonials from several customers and decided that these had to be the best fit for me. I ordered them, received them and immediately fell in love with the sound, the comfort and the overall quality. Now since I put down over 200.00 on these, I treated them like they were made of gold. I always kept them in their bag and never left them laying around. It was after having them for only a few months that they started falling apart. I tried to fix them myself but they only got worse. I tried taping them and then gluing them but nothing worked. They are now in such a state that I can't even use them. I can't believe that they fell apart like they did. I don't have the money to replace them. I would strongly recommend against anyone spending their hard earned money on these unless you want them collecting dust in your junk drawer.

Best sound for noise cancelling headphone
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Just recently acquired one two weeks ago but decided to exchanged for sony xm2. After 1 day of testing xm2 i decided to switched back to xb950n1. I guess the xm2 are more focused on noise cancelling capabilty, but the sound is not as good as xb950n1. This headphone has the best of both world. Definitely highly recommended.

Noise canceling Headphones
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought in 2018 using them in 2022, I love them as much now as I did then. They make Flying very enjoyable and time fly. Paired with my iPad the flight to Hawaii was quiet and entertaining.

OK but way overpriced - its a scam
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Noise cancelling - check Bass boost - check long battery life, I like that = sound is ok nothing spectacular, But was not worth half of what I paid for it - its a price inflated scam

Great Sound, Poor Fit
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I travel to Japan regularly for the military. I have used ear buds for years on my flights; however, these can start to hurt my ears after a while. I have been looking into getting a good set of noise canceling, over the ear headphones for the flights for quite some time. I have tried out the Bose, Beats, JBL and Sony headphones in the store several times. I love the feel of the Bose and I think their Noise Canceling ability is second to none. I just can't get past the price. I know you get what you pay, but the price is ridiculous. I finally decided the price point on the Sony's was too good to not jump on. I purchased these headphones and couldn't wait to try them out...I have been completely disappointed and will be returning them. First off, they paired with my Bluetooth immediately; however, the connection was poor. Every single song I listened to seemed like it was slowed down. I reset my phone and the earphones and this corrected immediately. Second, all the features on the unit don't work with android. I understand Apple is a big deal, but Android does pretty good for itself. You think Sony would want to cater to half the population. Lastly, the fit is awful!!! Immediately after putting them on I could feel them squeezing my temple. I wore them for 5 minutes and had a mild headache. I tried to wear them for an hour, when I took them off, I had a headache that lasted the rest of the night. The band between the muffs seems to drill into the top of your head even though it doesn't seem to have that much pressure. The pain was unbearable. There is no way I could wear these on a 12 hour flight. I will be biting the bullet and dropping the extra money on the Bose QC35s. On a positive note, the sound quality was amazing. The noise canceling could be better, but I thought it was adequate. My music did sound pretty good through these.

Awesome sound quality
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Pricey, but worth the money. I've had decent battery life with them and hope it lasts. Only downside is the normal audio cable seems loose and wobbles. Can be difficult to connect by bluetooth sometimes.

Wonderful
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought these as a Christmas present to myself. It was a door buster sale. While they seem a little large, they certainly function as described. Couldn’t be happier.

Great sound, terrible design
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The speakers and battery life of these headphones are fantastic. Too bad none of that matters when the construction of the headphones themselves is absolute garbage. I take very good care of my headphones and do nothing but workout with them, so it’s not like they’re going through a ton of impact motion. The hinge on them broke within 2 months while I was wearing them. I didn’t drop them and they broke, they were on my head when the hinge snapped. Parts are almost impossible to find and the repair itself is not easy for someone like me who doesn’t fair well with electronics. I would expect a much better product for $250. Sony will no longer receive my business.

Poor design flaw cracks!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Shame Great sounding Bluetooth headphones, have not 1 but 2 that have cracked in the same place with casual use, i'm an Audiophile and was pretty impressed with the sound signature, BUT there is a fatal design flaw first pair cracked repaired with epoxy very tough job, reason being Sony would not repair, have since given up on Sony and went back to Bose, and am very happy with my Bose purchase, sorry Sony you dropped the ball on these headphones, by not following threw on design flaw, do not buy these, I myself enjoyed them so much bought another pair and just last week they cracked in the same place, think ill stick to Bose for Bluetooth, and my Audeze LCD-X for pro listening, Thanks for nothing Sony...Steer clear of these!!!

Worked great for a few months then problems
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It worked great and sound and NC was great. I was able to toggle NC and Bass easily. Now after an hour or so of use the sound starts crackling. First I thought it was something wrong with my computer bluetooth, so I tested it with a computer and also a phone. same issue after a bit of use. I also cannot toggle NC as well.
