Full disclosure: I receieved this product for free to review in return for my honest feedback on it. Now that that is out of the way, I am audophile and bass head. I love music and audio so getting the chance to review these headphones was a pleasure. SOUND: The sound on these headphones is pretty good. It is right on par with being the same quality as the prior version of these the MDRXB950BT/B. I do admit, I believe that the middle ranges are a little muddy, they are not as crisp as say on the skullcandy crusher's, its more of a rounded sound than a crisp sound. That would be my one complaint, it still sounds great do not get me wrong, but sometimes I feel that vocals and other mid-high range frequencies tend to get drowned out by the lower ones. EQ can help, but you need to really fine tune it. The bass is pretty good, its more of a wide bass, compared to other headphones like the skullcandy crushers which have more of a focused directional bass. This headphone comes with a new feature where you can use an app on your smartphone to control the bass level which is nifty. Would've been nice to have it on the headphone itself. FEATURES: So this model has noise canceling which I find to be a good feature. Is it totally noise canceling? No, but if you want to tune out all the ambient noise in your room or are traveling, this will do an adequate job. Also, the newest feature is the fact you can download an app to fine tune some settings on the headphones. I personally don't care for this feature as the built in sound presets they give you for "surround" honestly blow. They literally just make music quieter and add a ton of reverb and bass, its really pointless... The nice part is the clear bass feature where you can adjust the bass, I am glad there is no more of that some bass or super bass like the previous model. BASS: The bass as I mentioned earlier on these headphones is pretty good. You can control it, its always there, its not too overbearing, but it is a wider spread of frequency which I don't like as much. I like having a focused clear bass, these ones just fill the sound. QUALITY: The construction quality has improved over the previous model. I actually broke my previous pair just by leaving them in a backpack, the hinge that holds the earphone broke off and exposed the wires. Luckily with this model, they fold and have a much more secure and sturdy hinge, so I do not see that happening again. The padding on the ears is very comfortable and one of the shining parts of this product. I actually don't like the headband as much as the previous product, it seems more uncomfortable to me. OVERALL: Overall, these headphones are a slight improvement over the previous generation. You get new features, you get a more sturdy design, same Sony sound quality and a longer battery life. If you were debating on getting the new version vs the old version, I would go with the newer version to safe yourself the frustration of lacking noise canceling, new features and a more durable product.

These headphones are the best I’ve ever had. The sound is full, rich, and the bass response, mids, and highs are all there.
